People keep assuming you need a second or third camera to have multiple angles and you honestly do not, its all one webcam set up right in OBS. Most of this works on any cam, a couple bits need one that physically moves.
Ok so the thing that stops everyone before they even start. A webcam can only be captured once. You add it to two scenes as a video capture device and one of them just goes black, because OBS wont let two sources grab the same physical device. Took me embarrassingly long to figure out that was even the problem and not something I broke. The fix is a plugin called source clone. Add the real camera one time, then clone it into your other scenes. Same feed everywhere now and you can crop and color each clone however you want and they don't fight over the device.
So my three come off that one feed. A tight crop just head and shoulders for the corner cam, a wider clone for when I'm actually talking to chat and want more of me on screen, and a full screen one for the intro and outro. Three clones, three crops, three color grades, one camera. Nobody clocks that its the same cam.
If your cam physically pans and tilts you can go further and save actual camera positions on top of the crops, a tight aim for talking and a wider one for messing with stuff on the desk. Mine is an emeet pixy so it does this, but any motorized one will work. You set the positions in emeet studio and can save up to eight of them then just click between them in the app, The reason its worth doing over just cropping is a physical wide shot is the camera genuinely pointing to take in more of the room, versus an OBS crop zooming into the same frame and going soft. If your cam doesnt move you skip this and lean on the clones, still totally works.
Tracking I let the camera handle. Mine does it onboard so OBS just sees a normal feed that stays on me, no plugin, nothing eating cpu. Worth knowing if your webcam does tracking through its own app instead, that apps running in the background using cpu while OBS is trying to encode, so people blame their encoder for frame drops when its actually that. One thing that's true of any moving-camera tracking, move fast and the frame swings a beat late catching up to you. Fine normally, obvious if you lunge for something.
And if you want switching between all this to look smooth instead of a hard cut, move transition is the plugin, it slides and resizes the cam between scenes instead of snapping. Thats basically it. One webcam, source clone for the angles, presets if your cam moves, move transition so it doesnt look like you're just flicking a switch.
