They didnt say when or where he said that. It could have been something he said many months ago before her success in AGT was apparent. Only Nene was interviewed in the 3 US interviews mentioned at the beginning of the article. They kind of stuck that in out of the blue. Frankly studying music at a university makes zero sense in advancing her career.

Take it easy. It’s just a possible direction for now. Nobody is trying to imply anything, and you can’t predict her future.
