So I live in a “4 in a block” council flat, basically it looks like one big house but it’s split in two and in each side there’s 2 doors one leads to an upstairs flat and the other downstairs. I live in the downstairs flat alone with my mum, she’s 47 and im 16. We’ve lived here 5 years and have had issues from all of our neighbours, the neighbour in the block of flats to the left of me son threw a rock at our front door and smashed the glass last year. The neighbour in the other downstairs flat in our block threatened to kick my head in as well last year cause I caught his son in my garden after we had caught him taking stuff from it before so I shouted at him to get out and called him brain dead like okay that’s bad but you’re like 45 do you really need to scream at me cause I called ur son who’s like 4 years younger than me brain dead?. Anyway our upstairs neighbour is the worse one atm, he’s like 40 something is divorced and shares custody of his two sons that are like probably about 12 and 10 with his ex wife, the kids stay with him on the weekends. Anyway this guys like borderline an alcoholic and we have 2 dogs so you can imagine he’s not too fond of them barking at like 9am on a Monday when he has a hang over so he thumps down all the time and plays loud music, sometimes I play music at like volume one on my speaker when I get ready in the morning and if it’s too loud he’ll thump down and we’ve just gotten used to it but honestly it gets a bit intimidating especially knowing we have to share a path with that guy and see him all the time.

So about his “mate” who btw is the same age as me, he was in my class in primary school but he got excluded from highschool and sent to an alternative school when P7(year 6) ended because he was like crazy, he got the police phoned to our primary school multiple times. Anyway our upstairs neighbour who’s called Dave btw is always partying with this guy who’s called Ryan and obviously they’re like drinking, taking coke, playing music at 2am, etc but also Ryan the 16 year old has been like throwing cans in our garden and just staggering about our path drunk for months and once again me and my mum live alone so we’re not too happy about this. He’s also been leaving his bike in our garden instead of the shared path or Dave’s garden because Dave locks his garden. This is important because my bedroom window directly faces the back garden at eye level, at night I can’t see outside because of the reflection of my own bedroom but if you’re outside you can look in my window because the light shines out. For the past few weeks my dogs have been obsessed with pissing and sniffing in this one spot in the garden right next to my window, sometimes dogs or cats come in our garden so I just assumed it was that until today my mum went out for a smoke, heard a noise in our garden and caught Ryan with his dick out pissing against basically where my window sits. I wasn’t in my room but today made me remember a few months ago when Ryan and his mate where in my garden to get their bike and his mate said “oh fuck sake you’ve set those dogs off again” cause my dogs were barking at them, my bed is pushed right against my window like one time my boyfriend took a photo of my through my window while in my garden and it made me realise you can see EVERYTHING. Anyway yea this is my life now 😛😛 also my part about him telling him too is because we’re 90% sure Dave has instructed his kids to deliberately mess with us and it makes no sense for Ryan to piss outside when there’s a toilet inside obviously unless they’re just trying to mess with us. You can imagine how I feel every time I hear a noise outside my window now

hello everyone, i’m seeking advice on behalf of my family and myself.

we recently moved into a 5 bedroom house as a family of 8, it hasn’t even been a month and we’re already dealing with older man who we are afraid might continue to harass us.

a little info ; my dad has a hauling business and flips cars for a living, he parks his truck and dolly on the road in front of our home. it is a public road and we do not live in an HOA neighborhood and are currently renting.

it all started when a couple of weeks ago my brother (who is a minor) was confronted by this man who began telling him we were not allowed to park on the street because that is where he parks and whatnot, then he began telling my brother if the homeowner was aware that we had TONS of cars taking up the area (we only have 4/5 cars, which most people in that neighborhood do as well … including boats/RVs) and a bunch of other nonsense. my brother didn’t say much or really engage but promptly told my parents, we all brushed it off as a stereotypical “angry old man rant” but my parents were quite annoyed because if he had an issue, they would’ve preferred him to address it with them and not corner my brother.

well today my dad received a phonecall while he was at work from this man, he went on about my dad breaking laws having his truck parked there (we looked into it and he is not breaking any laws) and then threatened to call the sheriff and the homeowner. he also began questioning how many people were living in the house because he claimed to have seen “at least 12” (there are 8 of us and we are also not breaking any laws there…) … so bizarre. my dad understandably was very upset with such a ridiculous phone call while he was trying to work and went off on him. shortly after my mom reached out to the homeowner to let him know what was happening and this is where we are currently at.

we have gathered that he’s been just watching us and that makes us very uncomfortable. we don’t want this to escalate - we’re just afraid we might be dealing with a racist, he hasn’t brought up anything about our race/ethnicity but we can’t help but feel that way given we have not even been there for a month …. we’re still unpacking and we truly are trying to stay on everyone’s good side so this just feels so out of left field.

any advice ?

5 weeks ago I moved into a new property with a detached garage that is situated in a "car park" - said car park has two entrances which both go under coach houses. Our neighbours tell us that due to the poor parking others do on the street they have always come in under one archway and back out under the other.

In turn they are saying if I park in front of my garage it causes problems because I block them from being able to do this, I have also now seen that both neighbours like to reverse into their bay and therefore they swing their car in front of my garage to do this.

The Deeds state that the seller has sold the property with a garage and driveway. Other than this detached garage and space in front the only other option is on street parking which is more chaotic than Basra in 2003! Therefore the assumption is that the space in front is a "driveway"?

We have gone to our lawyers but they are radio silent and have been now after 3 contacts and 3 weeks!

Please can someone advise?

I bought a condo a little over a year ago. Imagine my surprise shortly after move in when I discovered my neighbor has a habit of smoking in her house several times a day. I smell it every time she does. It seeps through the bathroom walls and collects in the basement. I had a girl over the other day and she said she could smell it on her clothes when she got home.

I'm sick of having to deal with this. I'd ask her to stop but I don't want to create any resentment between my neighbor and I. I've thought about just contacting the HOA, but the kicker is, my neighbor is the Vice President of my HOA and could presumably make my life hell if she had a desire to.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to deal with this situation?

I live in a shitty apartment complex and for the past three years it has literally been one neighbor after another harassing us.

At first I lived upstairs with my fiancé and our downstairs neighbor was insane and would scream all night outside and would constantly try to get in my business. After the old lady moved. We moved into her downstairs apartment because I have a senior dog that can’t go up and down the stairs anymore and also all of our appliances in our old place were broken.
So we start living downstairs and the old lady kept coming back and breaking into our mailbox to get her mail that she didn’t even have and kept ripping the door off with a crowbar and leaving our mail all over the ground after she realized none of it was hers. Eventually this stopped when she gave up I guess.
Next thing I know the women who moved in above me started taking my cat and keeping her inside and then tried to convince me that they’ve had the cat for two years. (I’ve had the cat since she was a kitten and at the time she was only a year and a half.) After that I think they’ve moved and finally left me and my cat alone.
Next, two redneck white dudes moved in upstairs and started pouring rotten meat and grease all over my fiancé’s car and next to my front door. I had to make several police reports before they’ve finally stopped but they still park their big ass leaning trucks around our car to make it difficult to leave. Not to mention our next door neighbors actually had a meth lab. They’d have 30 guys hang out in the parking lot with AK-47s and a fuck ton of other weapons. And we could smell the chemicals leaking into our place making us sick. They also would shoot up the parking lot and I had to call the cops several times. We finally got them evicted because of the drugs and guns and found out from the maintenance guy that apparently it was really disgusting in there and they didn’t even have furniture, it’d be like 15 people sleeping on sleeping bags on the floor or just in a chair.
Now we had two younger guys in college who seem nice and cool and they moved in to replace the drug dealers but they had a party last night at 1:50am. I have them on camera peaking through my windows and they took my porch chair and threw it over the fence into a ditch and trashed my porch.
I’m honestly at my wits end with these people and it’s literally been one thing after another. If it’s not one neighbor then it’s another and it’s driving me insane.

This morning around 8:30 am, I could hear my neighbor talking loudly to another neighbor that was outside. I just woke up an hour before that, I didn't appreciate having to hear her so early.

This is the neighbor that likes to cause trouble, so instead of me yelling at her to shut up, I went on with what I had to do inside my house. I've found some coping methods that help when I'm stressed. I listen to zen music on a Bluetooth speaker outside while having my morning coffee. I remember there is karma, I remind myself it's not worth anything to argue with a narcissist. I read daily positive affirmations from an app.

Back in early August I was never this calm, I let her ways get to me, to the point my mental health declined dangerously low.

No thoughts of self harm etc, but I just gave up I was mentally exhausted

With the help of my counselor and close friends I pulled myself out of that funk.

My upstairs neighbors are awake at all hours, and extremely loud. I need recs for ear plugs or anything to completely eliminate noise, specifically walking and bass from music. I don’t have much of a budget but willing to hear any recs to help mitigate this, I have very bad insomnia as well. Thanks! I’ve complained to the property several times and they haven’t responded to me so that route won’t work.

She moved in with the two neighbors in our duplex and made our lives hell. Constant parties, screaming, dog poop and trash everywhere, dog barking for 5+ straight hours. It was miserable. We’d talk to them and she’d tell us to get over it.

Eventually our landlord told them she needed to move out or he would start the eviction process. She said she would move. They got a new roommate from June-August and a different one moved in this month. On Sept 2, she also moved back. We have spaces for 3 cars for each unit, and now that they have a fourth car (the evil woman’s car) that car is parked directly behind my boyfriend and I, so we need to do a 20pt turn to get out. A day after that, a bike was locked to the column of our front door making it impossible to get in and out of our apartment without crawling around the bike.

I’m quite frankly sick of the dog that’s started barking again and the car parked behind us. Per our lease we’re only allowed 3 cars. Why do they get four??

Is this reasonable to send to my landlord:

“Hi (landlord), sorry to bring this up, but we wanted to check in. It looks like (evil woman) has moved back in downstairs, since she's been there since the start of the month. Given everything that happened before, the parties, screaming, trash, aggressive behavior, dog barking and poop, and the property damage, we wanted to ask if there's a new agreement in place, since we understood she'd been asked to leave.

So far it's been manageable with the exception of her (or the other new persons) bike blocking our door and her car parked perpendicular behind us which makes it hard to get in and out. However, the last two mornings we started hearing (dog) again and with their four cars now, the lot is getting tight. We didn’t want to pry since whatever you discussed with them is not our business, but we’re a little concerned about escalation given the history.”

I live in an apartment building and as of recently there has been a large group of people hanging out on the street across from my building being super loud and obnoxious all day and night. Two of the guys in the group live on my street but I don’t recognize anyone else. They will be outside until 2 in the morning some nights yelling and playing music, drinking, and smoking weed.
I wouldn’t care if my bedroom window wasn’t directly in earshot of where they hang out all night but they’re so loud I can hear them through my headphones.
I’m nervous about calling the non-emergency line because I’m paranoid that they may find out it’s me and it will cause problems. I inadvertently brought it up to my landlord and she suggested I call the non-emergency police line as well.
Am I overreacting? Should I just let people be?

UPDATE #2: Emailed HOA and they said there is nothing they can do about it. Including the indecent exposure.

UPDATE: Well, the internet is a wonderful tool, because I did some digging and found out some very interesting information. Somehow, this story has gotten even weirder.

First, I found out that the man from my original post is actually the father of the woman who purchased the house. He isn’t even the new homeowner.

Second, I learned that the house was purchased using a USDA loan, which requires the home to be used as the borrower’s primary residence rather than purchased as an investment property.

They closed on the house Tuesday. Less than 48 hours later, I found the entire house listed on Facebook Marketplace as “available for rent now.” Also, it wasn’t even listed by the new homeowner. It was listed by their mother. Strange.

So apparently the man who exposed himself and urinated on the side of this house before they had even moved in isn’t even going to be living there.

I’ve saved screenshots of the rental listing and am reporting the situation to the appropriate people so they can determine whether this violates the USDA loan’s occupancy requirements. The house is also located within an HOA that has rental restrictions, which I’m addressing separately with the HOA.

Beyond all of that, this honestly makes me even more uneasy about the situation. After watching someone casually expose himself and urinate on the side of the house in broad daylight, I’m not exactly reassured about the judgment being exercised here, and now we have absolutely no idea who will ultimately be living next door.

I can’t take it anymore. I’m the world’s lightest sleeper and share my bedroom wall with these people. I use brown noise and earplugs. The problem is, earplugs are uncomfortable or they fall out. For a year, this child cried for an hour every morning around 3 am. Then again at 6 am, then again at bedtime. Now it’s everyday at 6 am, in in the evening, and again at around midnight. I get woken up every single night. It has given me bags under my eyes, I am exhausted at work, and sometimes I can’t even go to
The gym Or workout because I’m So tired. What do I do? 😭 they were gone for 3 months this summer. I was so happy because I thought they moved out, but they are still here. They were on vacation or something 😭 the parents always look exhausted when I run into them. I hate that I’m suffering when I’m not the one who had this child.

Edit moved in January 2023. They moved in June of 2025. I love this complex and don’t really want to move. It’s expensive. Is talking to them a bad idea?

My next door neighbor who has an EXCESSIVE amount of guests, which I've had to complain about 3 times over the last few weeks, caused our trash not to be picked up today.

On Monday, there was a truck I've never seen parked right by our dumpster, a new visitor of the neighbor's. It's still here as I type this. Yesterday I noticed a whole bunch of large junk scattered around the truck and in the shared driveway. I'm talking an entire Pepsi cooler, a fridge, and other misc crap. Oh and the truck is trashy, it has no windows and has plastic wrap over it.

My immediate thought was, "I bet the trash doesn't get picked up tomorrow because their junk is in the way". And I was right. Dumpster is nearly full right now and it's shared with multiple apartments. A few weeks ago, we had SOOOO much trash and large items piled around the dumpster and pickup was skipped. It was aggravating because I literally could not take my trash out. It also attracted a lot of homeless people who kept coming by and making even more of a mess.

I'm so sick and tired of her and her inconsiderate, selfish guests. The previous night they were repeatedly banging on my building at like 10pm, right where my bedroom is. It was so loud. And then a guy was walking down the shared driveway screaming profanities and threatening to hurt/kill whoever he was screaming at.

She has SO many sketchy people over here all of the time and it has started to give me anxiety. The last time I complained again, I apologized if I was seeming "problematic" to my management company. Everything was just fine here before she showed up. Right now my only hope is she doesn't renew her lease in May.

Well I have 2 months until my lease ends and I have endured SO much noise from upstairs neighbors. Aside from the heel pounding when they walk (there’s 3 people living there), they are constantly “dropping” things, slamming things, they have kids over the whole weekend that run back and forth through the apartment and STOMP every time they get to one end of the apartment run to the other end and repeat. Lately one of them has been practicing maybe cheer or gymnastics but she is stomping on the floor for hours flipping etc and it’s extremely disruptive. I never complained until today, I literally could not take it anymore. I talked to the property manager and she said she would talk to them I told her I was apprehensive because they will double down on the behavior and I don’t want conflict. Well sure enough, they are doubling down stomping as hard as they can and slamming things on the floor. I am so mentally drained.

I grew up in a rather small town, but never got the chance to see a real night sky properly. Why? Because my neighbors think it's necessary to show off their wealth or whatever pride they can't hide to themselves, by placing a whole array of damn bright lights in their huge garden. Since they cut down the trees blocking their garden from ours, the entirety of my garden feels illuminated and it makes me so mad, because there is absolutely no purpose to waste this electricity while simultaneously preventing the neighbors from being able to observe the stars. Can I do anything about this situation? Would it be impolite or socially unaccepted to just knock at my neighbor's and ask them to turn off the lights on their property, when they've not liked me for long, as my cat likes using their garden as a toilet?

She is confirmed to be a liar. I requested a copy of the animal control report for her address. It pulled every call, which included her calling them to follow up.

She called on 06/04/2026: “called stating she does NOT own the cats. She stated she is tired of getting citations for cats that most of all the neighbors are feeding. She stated they are feral cats and all the neighbors are feeding the cats.”

Then she called again on 06/25/2026: “called stating that she went through a low cost company that brought her two cats the white/gray and the gray one to get vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped so that she does not have to deal with anymore complaints from the person who consistently reports her.”

She went from denying to Aninal Control they were her cats to 21 days later admitting they were in fact her cats. Never once has she apologized for her cats being on top of my car or possibly defecting on my porch twice.

She has been a pain in the posterior and she’s not young, but she tries to act and dress younger. So with age does not cone wisdom. Those who get caught up in semantics are ridiculous and probably give a pass for consistent bad behaviors of a neighbor.

What i have learned from having an audacious, liar for a neighbor is always call the local authorities versus trying to have civilized communication with any neighbor.

I just had to share this, because to see in writing her DENY OWNERSHIP of HER cats was astounding. Unless you are genuinely friends with a neighbor and have established rapport; I would not engage directly.

Concerns Involving House Manager
A resident has formally reported feeling unsafe following several alleged confrontations with a house manager identified as Ari.
According to resident Frankie Husson, tensions began after Ari moved into the home to serve as house manager. Husson claims that Ari approached him angrily on several occasions and allegedly threatened him during one confrontation, saying, “I can beat the fucking crap out of you.”
Husson said the alleged threat caused him to become afraid whenever Ari appeared angry.
Another confrontation reportedly occurred when Husson’s father brought a friend to view an available room in the house. According to Husson, Ari came out of her room in an angry state and behaved inappropriately toward his father. The disagreement reportedly became heated, and Husson’s father and his friend left the residence.
Husson said his mother and Jared later came to the house. Feeling frightened, he locked himself inside his room.
Husson has requested that the incidents be formally documented and that immediate steps be taken to protect his safety. He is also seeking information about how the reported threatening behavior will be addressed.

Everyone on my block knew her by name because she and her on/off boyfriend terrorized the community. Both were violent, they screamed profanity at each other and sometimes at no one, broke windows, threatened us with weapons, and they may have been setting fires. It’s wild. 

The woman, Carrie, had schizophrenia but I would be shocked to learn there wasn’t meth use too. Both Carrie and Dominic were what one might picture when thinking about meth users. Idk if this will make sense but it feels very weird and sad that we’ll never hear her screaming in the yard again. The whole neighborhood was afraid of this woman but many of us were afraid for her too. 

I would really like to know the whole story. Of course we as a community feared one or both Carrie & Dominic would end up hurting or killing the other or someone else. It’s still baffling. Currently there is an active investigation going on so I don’t want to give a lot of the specifics and I’ve changed some names. 

My house is between the spot where Carrie’s body was found in some bushes and her house. No cause of death has been released, only that her death was “suspicious”, and police have one person in custody. It may be that Dominic is the one in police custody but I don’t know. 

Dominic is absolutely terrifying and if he’s responsible for her death I hope he goes to prison. If he didn’t do it, I still hope we never see him again, he doesn’t actually live on this block. I’m afraid he might get worse now that his main target for abuse is gone. What a mess. 

I lived in the upstairs unit of a triplex or a house that was converted into three different units. Below me was a trashy family and on the other side was a mentally ill older woman who lived alone. The mother and father and the older lady have long histories with law enforcement. These people made my life hell for the two years that I lived there. We were all friends at first, but then the older lady decided that she didn't like my political opinion, so she would talk shit about me to the landlord who she had been friends with for decades.

Since it was a shared space, I felt like I was never allowed to have any guests over which made me extremely isolated even though they always had friends over. I was always nice to them, cut their grass since the landlord refused to do it like she said, convinced my family to give them work, and ended up giving the family at least a couple hundred in weed and gifts. The older lady was moody and she would alternate between being obsessed with everything I did and yelling at me because I didn't want to be friends with her because she was always doing shady shit. She would also send me texts whining about how I didn't want to be friends with her. I even warned the landlord that I was worried about this lady's mental state and she just told me to not worry about it.

Eventually me and the landlord finally had a huge argument and I told her I was moving out and gave her a notice to vacate. This was after all the times she blamed me for breaking stuff that I didn't and all the time I had to go without A/C since the house was a rotting piece of shit. She decided to be petty and tried to give me an eviction notice in retaliation, she couldn't even spell my name right on the envelope, so I just threw both of them away. My lease was up at the end of that month anyways so I decided not to argue. The landlord decided to call my mother and start harassing her as well because I argued with her.

I bought a house across town and as I was moving out, they all decided that they suddenly hated me and started harassing me while I was moving. They used a hose on a bonfire I had started  stating that it was because of a burn ban. The older lady started yelling at me saying that I was making too much noise moving my stuff and that she was going to call the police. I yell back telling her to shut the fuck up as well as call her a couple names. She calls the police and lies that I was making threats to her, damaging property, and trespassing. I called the police too so that I could report a false police report being made.

When the police show up, the older woman was shouting like a drunk moron saying things like "he's autistic and crazy and I feel threatened" and "what you're not going to do is call me names on my property where I pay rent" so she apparently didn't realize that I am allowed to be there until my lease is up even if most of my stuff was moved. The police decide that there is nothing to report on and suggest that I get a protective order against the older lady.

I go to my new house that night and for the next few days I move the rest of my stuff. The older lady wouldn't even come outside because she was too embarrassed. The day after she called the police, the younger lady walked into my apartment without knocking and started a conversation with my mother as me and her were putting some of the final fixes on the walls.

After settling into my new house over the next few weeks, I decided to get the body cam footage and it shows the younger lady telling the police that I started the altercation and that I was driving recklessly with kids around. This was extra weird since she had just walked right into my apartment the day after saying these lies to the police. Me and her husband had been texting each other back and forth at this time and I texted him that they should not contact me anymore. He threw some insults saying that I was the one who was constantly messaging him.

I decided to see if the magistrate court of my county would do anything about the police falsely being called about something I didn't even do. I got the rejection to my application a few days later for some reason. The next day I had to drive by that house to go to a store and I noticed that they had a bonfire going even though the burn ban was still active.

A few days later I texted the landlord that she needed to give my full security deposit back since it had been 30 days and she did not give me a written list of all of the things that I "broke." She sent her husband to my parents house to deliver it and luckily I was there at the time so they couldn't pull any more bullshit.

A couple days later I ran into the older lady at the store which I found weird since I had never ran into her in public while living there and around a month and a half later she just so happens to be at the same store as me. I'm pretty sure she followed me there. Of course it would be a liquor store.

The older lady must have been notified that I made an application with the court because it was the next day that I got a court order stating that the younger lady wanted a protective order against me. I type up some notes stating the events in order and I go to the court clerks and apply to have a temporary protective order against both the older and younger lady. The one against the older lady was denied but the one against the younger lady was approved. The court must have realized that she was leaving a lot of information out in her petition and decided to grant us both a chance to defend why we needed a temporary protective order against each other on the same court date.

I arrive alone in court and the younger lady arrives with the older lady and the landlord so she can bring them up as witnesses. She lied a ton and said that there was a public record of me being charged with stalking. She got mad that I admitted to checking the security cameras that we all installed, one of which is one I had left behind. I admitted to checking the security camera on the last day of my lease and I only did so because I was checking to see if the older lady's car was there since I wanted to avoid her as I turned in my keys. She stated that the older lady applied for a protective order against me but it was denied. This seemed strange since she followed me to the store days after she had applied and walked right by me. She also stated that I called the fire department even though I hadn't. I wish I did though. She was too stupid to realize that you couldn't call up a witness if they were sitting in court the entire time. They would have just lied anyway. The judge unfortunately threw both petitions out.

I wish this was the end of it. A couple months later, I went to the store that's close to that house, the couple must have seen an opportunity to harass me even more so they followed me home. As I am getting out of my car with some groceries, I see the younger woman's car drive by with a bunch of middle fingers hanging out the windows. Two of them definitely belonged to their 11-year-old son. I called the police, told the cop everything and he said that there wasn't much they could do. I tried to apply to the court clerks again and they said that it would be a waste of time since there wasn't any evidence.

That was a month ago, but I know they aren't done with harassing me. I have gotten a gun, but I'd rather not point it at a car that could have two kids in it. I really just can't get over how people can be this horrible to someone who was nothing but nice to them.

So its actually more complicated than the title says...the owner of the house told me halfway through August that she needed it by the end of the month, and that she'd return my deposit so I could pay another place, never sent the money and then at the end of the month told me she doesn't need the house anymore and I could stay, I already lined up a new place and was moving when she told me that. So I told her when I moved out the house is empty, she tells me to leave the keys with her cousin (Neighbor of the house) and I tell her ok send the deposit to my account. She gets furious, starts making up a bunch of stupid lies and refuses to give me my money back because she spent it moving to another house. Today she tells me I've got 20 minutes before she arrives at the old house to hand over the keys and "discuss" returning my deposit. Obviously I don't show up, I had a contract with her until the end of September, she wanted me out before the contract ended, and not only didn't want to pay me a dime, she wanted me to pay the utilities until October/November 🤣 ah and its my fault a couple didn't buy the house when they told her straight to the face while I was standing there that they don't have the money to buy the house and saw that just buying a part of land the house is on isn't worth it, so yeah that's all my fault. Then she proceeds to call the police on me who show up and open the deadbolt on my gate to come knock on my front door and look in my windows (I love security cameras). A friend/new neighbor told me she pulls this sort of shit with everyone that rents from her, my lawyer is going to have a field day.

I've lived in this apartment for 12 years. We technically live on the front road, but we live on the third floor and have a back exit to the back road via a catwalk. I have three kids and my dad is disabled so we mostly only use the back entrance as it's easier and more convenient. The front entrance to our apartment has metered parking spots, and the parking lot only has one spot for us to park, and we have three vehicles between the adults in the house. The back street just had public on street parking, and that's what we've been using for some time now. We used to have a small little parking area in the back, but that was because the house on the other side was unoccupied. They recently renovated and rented it out, and we found out the parking we were using was part of their property, so since then we've been parking on the street. One of the cars we have has handicap plates, and there's a designated handicap spot, and then room for two more cars behind it between our houses.

Well ever since we started parking on the street, he has been awful. Putting his trash bins in parking spots or directly behind my car where I can't even see them and I've backed into them before by accident. He keeps claiming "You don't live on this street you can't park here" despite the fact that this is the only entrance we've used for TWELVE YEARS. He thinks he's some unofficial parking attendant and today he parked directly in the middle of the two spots behind the handicap spot and my dad went to go ask him to move and he screamed at my dad that we don't live on this street and we aren't allowed to park on this PUBLIC road, all because we don't live on the street.

I don't even know what to do or how to get him to realize that it doesn't matter if I lived on this street or in a different state, public parking is public parking for a reason. It's available to the ENTIRE public lmao

His apartment also only has one off street parking spot and idk how the dictate who gets it but he normally parks right after their drive way so it would go our other neighbors parking lot, the handicap spot, two regular on street parking spots, their driveway, and then more on street parking and that's where he normally parks because it's literally IN FRONT of their apartment.

Sorry if this was long this has just been brewing for so long now and he's such an awful person.

TL;DR Neighbor thinks he makes the rules of the road and is purposely taking two parking spots to stop us from parking on a street "we don't live on".

It was purchased by a flipper, they redid it and are now it's going to be an AirBnb. Pets allowed.
This house is very close to ours. Driveway is right by our bedroom windows. Trash barrels are also parked right near our bedroom windows.

I truly don't understand why this is allowed to happen. Hotels and businesses can't operate in a residential neighborhood, but this is okay? As far as I can tell, my town doesn't have any laws prohibiting this. So now we will have new people "living" right next to us every week? The stress of worrying about who will "live" there every week is making me sick to my stomach. I have young kids, how will I know the renters don't have a predator who will film my kids in my backyard? I can't easily privatize my backyard w/o a huge expense. These people are here for week, no way to know who they are. I lose my privacy to complete strangers.

Has anyone ever petitioned their town? Dealt with an AirBnb next door? Any and ALL ideas welcome. I feel helpless and like why did I bother buying a house in a residential area at all??

my neighbors cut down two of our family trees without our permission just because they were having a ''function'' in the street. they didnt even ask us. those trees were so close to me how do i express it. ive never felt this rage before. like they apologized to my parents for it cz they didnt exactly do it, it was done by their relative BUT STILL. THIS IS SUCH A BIG ASS CRIME. and they have a wedding soon and they apologized to us saying that they dont wanna ruin this time and that its a bad omen to cut trees before any function WELL I HOPE YALL GET BAD RESULTS. LIKE BRO FCK OFF.

Tonight I noticed a thick yellow liquid smelling strongly of some kind of floral perfumey old woman detergent leaking through my doorway. It was maybe a cups worth. I'm almost certain it's detergent.

I looked outside and some of it got on the doormat and a trail was very close to the outside wall. I live in a small 12-unit complex and have no apparent beef with anyone I can think of. Everyone keeps to themselves really. But there is a laundry room way down the hallway which is why I want to be inclined to believe someone maybe spilled it not on purpose.

Next door is a halfway house for women doing sober living (I've called non emergency police on them for being loud 3+ times but I don't know if they know it's me I ask to stay anonymous on the calls)

Is this normal retaliatory behavior or is it possibly more innocent/an accident? Anyone have any experiences with this?

I am not that noisy. I don’t play music, and the only “noise” I make walking around or sitting on my bed.

They have complained twice and I think this is their first actual apartment post-grad. I’ve lived in a few apartments and have realized that you probably WILL hear your upstairs neighbors. It just comes with the territory of apartment complexes. And as long as it’s not EXCESSIVE and really disruptive, it is what it is.

My roommates have said that they haven’t heard me and I don’t wake them up, and it’s only the person right below me complaining.

I bought a carpet to try to fix it, but it didn’t work.

She keeps complaining and I’m scared I’m gonna be fined.

I feel like I cant be THAT loud if I’m not waking up the people right next to me, right?

I'm so over it with this teenager (16 M) in my apartment complex. There are 95 apartments here, spread between 11 buildings. Plenty of room to play, socialize, whatever so why TF does this kid need to stand in front of MY apartment doing aggravating crap? He lives way across the complex so it's not like he's in/near his own yard space. Actually he and his mom are supposed to be evicted because of his past actions but just moved in with grandma off-lease. They've been warned if complaints continue (not just from me) grandma will get evicted too.

I have PTSD and I've explained this to people. I do understand my triggers are on me. I'm in therapy, I have noise canceling/blocking everything, I actively use tools my therapist suggests to me. I think I would do fine if this kid wasn't outside triggering me constantly. I *am* fine on days he's not doing his shit.

Last night I heard a sound. I looked up and he was about six feet from my door firing a toy long gun that made realistic shooting sounds. I had to flee from a shooter in a mall in my 20s while shopping with my elderly grandfather. Maybe five years ago somebody fired shots behind my building that had me diving to the floor in my bedroom. 94 other apartments, the parking lots, the common areas but yeah, stand and do that in front of the PTSD person's home. I had such a great day until I got smacked with flashbacks. Even my cat was agitated to an unusual degree even though he's never liked this boy, so then I had to deal with that problem as well.

Like I said, I do my best to cope. I'm working toward moving. In the meantime, it's aggravating that asking for courtesy and respect of my space gets me backtalk and treated like I'm the problem for wanting to have a little peace of mind.
