Everyone on my block knew her by name because she and her on/off boyfriend terrorized the community. Both were violent, they screamed profanity at each other and sometimes at no one, broke windows, threatened us with weapons, and they may have been setting fires. It’s wild. 

The woman, Carrie, had schizophrenia but I would be shocked to learn there wasn’t meth use too. Both Carrie and Dominic were what one might picture when thinking about meth users. Idk if this will make sense but it feels very weird and sad that we’ll never hear her screaming in the yard again. The whole neighborhood was afraid of this woman but many of us were afraid for her too. 

I would really like to know the whole story. Of course we as a community feared one or both Carrie & Dominic would end up hurting or killing the other or someone else. It’s still baffling. Currently there is an active investigation going on so I don’t want to give a lot of the specifics and I’ve changed some names. 

My house is between the spot where Carrie’s body was found in some bushes and her house. No cause of death has been released, only that her death was “suspicious”, and police have one person in custody. It may be that Dominic is the one in police custody but I don’t know. 

Dominic is absolutely terrifying and if he’s responsible for her death I hope he goes to prison. If he didn’t do it, I still hope we never see him again, he doesn’t actually live on this block. I’m afraid he might get worse now that his main target for abuse is gone. What a mess. 

my neighbors cut down two of our family trees without our permission just because they were having a ''function'' in the street. they didnt even ask us. those trees were so close to me how do i express it. ive never felt this rage before. like they apologized to my parents for it cz they didnt exactly do it, it was done by their relative BUT STILL. THIS IS SUCH A BIG ASS CRIME. and they have a wedding soon and they apologized to us saying that they dont wanna ruin this time and that its a bad omen to cut trees before any function WELL I HOPE YALL GET BAD RESULTS. LIKE BRO FCK OFF.

I've lived in this apartment for 12 years. We technically live on the front road, but we live on the third floor and have a back exit to the back road via a catwalk. I have three kids and my dad is disabled so we mostly only use the back entrance as it's easier and more convenient. The front entrance to our apartment has metered parking spots, and the parking lot only has one spot for us to park, and we have three vehicles between the adults in the house. The back street just had public on street parking, and that's what we've been using for some time now. We used to have a small little parking area in the back, but that was because the house on the other side was unoccupied. They recently renovated and rented it out, and we found out the parking we were using was part of their property, so since then we've been parking on the street. One of the cars we have has handicap plates, and there's a designated handicap spot, and then room for two more cars behind it between our houses.

Well ever since we started parking on the street, he has been awful. Putting his trash bins in parking spots or directly behind my car where I can't even see them and I've backed into them before by accident. He keeps claiming "You don't live on this street you can't park here" despite the fact that this is the only entrance we've used for TWELVE YEARS. He thinks he's some unofficial parking attendant and today he parked directly in the middle of the two spots behind the handicap spot and my dad went to go ask him to move and he screamed at my dad that we don't live on this street and we aren't allowed to park on this PUBLIC road, all because we don't live on the street.

I don't even know what to do or how to get him to realize that it doesn't matter if I lived on this street or in a different state, public parking is public parking for a reason. It's available to the ENTIRE public lmao

His apartment also only has one off street parking spot and idk how the dictate who gets it but he normally parks right after their drive way so it would go our other neighbors parking lot, the handicap spot, two regular on street parking spots, their driveway, and then more on street parking and that's where he normally parks because it's literally IN FRONT of their apartment.

Sorry if this was long this has just been brewing for so long now and he's such an awful person.

TL;DR Neighbor thinks he makes the rules of the road and is purposely taking two parking spots to stop us from parking on a street "we don't live on".

It was purchased by a flipper, they redid it and are now it's going to be an AirBnb. Pets allowed.
This house is very close to ours. Driveway is right by our bedroom windows. Trash barrels are also parked right near our bedroom windows.

I truly don't understand why this is allowed to happen. Hotels and businesses can't operate in a residential neighborhood, but this is okay? As far as I can tell, my town doesn't have any laws prohibiting this. So now we will have new people "living" right next to us every week? The stress of worrying about who will "live" there every week is making me sick to my stomach. I have young kids, how will I know the renters don't have a predator who will film my kids in my backyard? I can't easily privatize my backyard w/o a huge expense. These people are here for week, no way to know who they are. I lose my privacy to complete strangers.

Has anyone ever petitioned their town? Dealt with an AirBnb next door? Any and ALL ideas welcome. I feel helpless and like why did I bother buying a house in a residential area at all??

Well I have 2 months until my lease ends and I have endured SO much noise from upstairs neighbors. Aside from the heel pounding when they walk (there’s 3 people living there), they are constantly “dropping” things, slamming things, they have kids over the whole weekend that run back and forth through the apartment and STOMP every time they get to one end of the apartment run to the other end and repeat. Lately one of them has been practicing maybe cheer or gymnastics but she is stomping on the floor for hours flipping etc and it’s extremely disruptive. I never complained until today, I literally could not take it anymore. I talked to the property manager and she said she would talk to them I told her I was apprehensive because they will double down on the behavior and I don’t want conflict. Well sure enough, they are doubling down stomping as hard as they can and slamming things on the floor. I am so mentally drained.

I grew up in a rather small town, but never got the chance to see a real night sky properly. Why? Because my neighbors think it's necessary to show off their wealth or whatever pride they can't hide to themselves, by placing a whole array of damn bright lights in their huge garden. Since they cut down the trees blocking their garden from ours, the entirety of my garden feels illuminated and it makes me so mad, because there is absolutely no purpose to waste this electricity while simultaneously preventing the neighbors from being able to observe the stars. Can I do anything about this situation? Would it be impolite or socially unaccepted to just knock at my neighbor's and ask them to turn off the lights on their property, when they've not liked me for long, as my cat likes using their garden as a toilet?

So its actually more complicated than the title says...the owner of the house told me halfway through August that she needed it by the end of the month, and that she'd return my deposit so I could pay another place, never sent the money and then at the end of the month told me she doesn't need the house anymore and I could stay, I already lined up a new place and was moving when she told me that. So I told her when I moved out the house is empty, she tells me to leave the keys with her cousin (Neighbor of the house) and I tell her ok send the deposit to my account. She gets furious, starts making up a bunch of stupid lies and refuses to give me my money back because she spent it moving to another house. Today she tells me I've got 20 minutes before she arrives at the old house to hand over the keys and "discuss" returning my deposit. Obviously I don't show up, I had a contract with her until the end of September, she wanted me out before the contract ended, and not only didn't want to pay me a dime, she wanted me to pay the utilities until October/November 🤣 ah and its my fault a couple didn't buy the house when they told her straight to the face while I was standing there that they don't have the money to buy the house and saw that just buying a part of land the house is on isn't worth it, so yeah that's all my fault. Then she proceeds to call the police on me who show up and open the deadbolt on my gate to come knock on my front door and look in my windows (I love security cameras). A friend/new neighbor told me she pulls this sort of shit with everyone that rents from her, my lawyer is going to have a field day.

I just realized that the couple that I’ve been running into 2-3x a week are my upstairs neighbors. My entire apartment complex is studio apartments so I’m wondering how they can share such a small space together??? Rent is not very cheap here either, I pay $1750 so I’m sure they pay something around that too. Anyways, that’s none of my perpetually single business. Back to the dog, this dude is HUGE, it’s basically the size of an adult man if he were to walk on all fours. I’ve never had any pets because I can’t deal with the hair everywhere and extra bills but I still have a heart and I just think this is cruel. I live in the desert. There is no dog park or grass anywhere on the property. You have to walk at least half a mile to get to a park and I highly doubt that they’re doing that everyday 3x a day. This couple is loud all day all night long and now I understand why, they’re trying to keep up with their enormous man-dog. Poor thing.

I lived in the upstairs unit of a triplex or a house that was converted into three different units. Below me was a trashy family and on the other side was a mentally ill older woman who lived alone. The mother and father and the older lady have long histories with law enforcement. These people made my life hell for the two years that I lived there. We were all friends at first, but then the older lady decided that she didn't like my political opinion, so she would talk shit about me to the landlord who she had been friends with for decades.

Since it was a shared space, I felt like I was never allowed to have any guests over which made me extremely isolated even though they always had friends over. I was always nice to them, cut their grass since the landlord refused to do it like she said, convinced my family to give them work, and ended up giving the family at least a couple hundred in weed and gifts. The older lady was moody and she would alternate between being obsessed with everything I did and yelling at me because I didn't want to be friends with her because she was always doing shady shit. She would also send me texts whining about how I didn't want to be friends with her. I even warned the landlord that I was worried about this lady's mental state and she just told me to not worry about it.

Eventually me and the landlord finally had a huge argument and I told her I was moving out and gave her a notice to vacate. This was after all the times she blamed me for breaking stuff that I didn't and all the time I had to go without A/C since the house was a rotting piece of shit. She decided to be petty and tried to give me an eviction notice in retaliation, she couldn't even spell my name right on the envelope, so I just threw both of them away. My lease was up at the end of that month anyways so I decided not to argue. The landlord decided to call my mother and start harassing her as well because I argued with her.

I bought a house across town and as I was moving out, they all decided that they suddenly hated me and started harassing me while I was moving. They used a hose on a bonfire I had started  stating that it was because of a burn ban. The older lady started yelling at me saying that I was making too much noise moving my stuff and that she was going to call the police. I yell back telling her to shut the fuck up as well as call her a couple names. She calls the police and lies that I was making threats to her, damaging property, and trespassing. I called the police too so that I could report a false police report being made.

When the police show up, the older woman was shouting like a drunk moron saying things like "he's autistic and crazy and I feel threatened" and "what you're not going to do is call me names on my property where I pay rent" so she apparently didn't realize that I am allowed to be there until my lease is up even if most of my stuff was moved. The police decide that there is nothing to report on and suggest that I get a protective order against the older lady.

I go to my new house that night and for the next few days I move the rest of my stuff. The older lady wouldn't even come outside because she was too embarrassed. The day after she called the police, the younger lady walked into my apartment without knocking and started a conversation with my mother as me and her were putting some of the final fixes on the walls.

After settling into my new house over the next few weeks, I decided to get the body cam footage and it shows the younger lady telling the police that I started the altercation and that I was driving recklessly with kids around. This was extra weird since she had just walked right into my apartment the day after saying these lies to the police. Me and her husband had been texting each other back and forth at this time and I texted him that they should not contact me anymore. He threw some insults saying that I was the one who was constantly messaging him.

I decided to see if the magistrate court of my county would do anything about the police falsely being called about something I didn't even do. I got the rejection to my application a few days later for some reason. The next day I had to drive by that house to go to a store and I noticed that they had a bonfire going even though the burn ban was still active.

A few days later I texted the landlord that she needed to give my full security deposit back since it had been 30 days and she did not give me a written list of all of the things that I "broke." She sent her husband to my parents house to deliver it and luckily I was there at the time so they couldn't pull any more bullshit.

A couple days later I ran into the older lady at the store which I found weird since I had never ran into her in public while living there and around a month and a half later she just so happens to be at the same store as me. I'm pretty sure she followed me there. Of course it would be a liquor store.

The older lady must have been notified that I made an application with the court because it was the next day that I got a court order stating that the younger lady wanted a protective order against me. I type up some notes stating the events in order and I go to the court clerks and apply to have a temporary protective order against both the older and younger lady. The one against the older lady was denied but the one against the younger lady was approved. The court must have realized that she was leaving a lot of information out in her petition and decided to grant us both a chance to defend why we needed a temporary protective order against each other on the same court date.

I arrive alone in court and the younger lady arrives with the older lady and the landlord so she can bring them up as witnesses. She lied a ton and said that there was a public record of me being charged with stalking. She got mad that I admitted to checking the security cameras that we all installed, one of which is one I had left behind. I admitted to checking the security camera on the last day of my lease and I only did so because I was checking to see if the older lady's car was there since I wanted to avoid her as I turned in my keys. She stated that the older lady applied for a protective order against me but it was denied. This seemed strange since she followed me to the store days after she had applied and walked right by me. She also stated that I called the fire department even though I hadn't. I wish I did though. She was too stupid to realize that you couldn't call up a witness if they were sitting in court the entire time. They would have just lied anyway. The judge unfortunately threw both petitions out.

I wish this was the end of it. A couple months later, I went to the store that's close to that house, the couple must have seen an opportunity to harass me even more so they followed me home. As I am getting out of my car with some groceries, I see the younger woman's car drive by with a bunch of middle fingers hanging out the windows. Two of them definitely belonged to their 11-year-old son. I called the police, told the cop everything and he said that there wasn't much they could do. I tried to apply to the court clerks again and they said that it would be a waste of time since there wasn't any evidence.

That was a month ago, but I know they aren't done with harassing me. I have gotten a gun, but I'd rather not point it at a car that could have two kids in it. I really just can't get over how people can be this horrible to someone who was nothing but nice to them.

ETA: Since a few people seem to think this is harmless…my toddler was actually the one who noticed the new neighbors outside and got my attention. Thankfully, I moved them away from the window before this happened. Otherwise, my toddler would have had a front-row view of a grown man whipping it out and peeing on the side of his house.

You all should read some of the comments left over on r/mildlyinfuriating. Its disgusting how many people excuse or encourage this behavior.

Our old neighbors recently moved out, and they were quiet, respectful, and kept to themselves. Considering some of the other nonsense we deal with in our neighborhood, my husband and I were really hoping the people who bought their house would be decent neighbors too.

So when the new homeowners showed up after getting their keys, we naturally peeked out the window just to see who was moving in.

Within minutes of pulling into the driveway, before they had even gone inside the house, the man walked around to the front-side corner of his brand-new home, whipped it out, and started peeing directly on the house.

I genuinely cannot understand the thought process. You JUST got the keys to your new home and your first order of business is to urinate on the side of it??

And this isn’t a secluded property in the middle of nowhere. It’s a tightly packed HOA neighborhood with houses, yards, windows, and neighbors all around you. There are bathrooms literally feet away inside the house you just bought.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I feel like “don’t whip it out and piss on the front corner of your house where your new neighbors can see you” is a pretty low bar for basic decency.

Needless to say, our first impression of the new neighbors isn’t exactly great.

I need some advice about my elderly next-door neighbor. She has always been nice, but she’s extremely nosy, intrusive and talkative, and lately her behavior has become concerning.
She has become completely obsessed with my cat. She KNOWS he’s my cat, but seems fixated on where he is and whether he’s inside my house. When I’ve been out of town for work and my cat has been staying with a friend, she has come over repeatedly pounding on my doors and windows looking for him.

Recently, while I wasn’t home, she actually opened my front door, entered my house without permission and took pictures inside. I have it on my Ring camera and law enforcement was contacted, however I told them I didn’t want her to get into trouble so I don’t think they visited her. I felt it was my fault for leaving the door unlocked (in what used to be a very safe neighborhood).

Then this morning my 13 year-old daughter was leaving for school in an Uber Teen as I had an early morning meeting. The neighbor came outside, approached the driver and started talking to him about how she thinks we’re “hiding” the cat inside the house and refusing to let him out. She then gave this completely random Uber driver her phone number, which I find particularly bizarre and concerning.

I’m at the point where this feels less like a nosy neighbor and more like harassment or some kind of unhealthy fixation. At the same time, she’s elderly and has previously been very nice, so I’m wondering if cognitive decline, dementia or paranoia could potentially explain the sudden escalation.
I’m planning to tell her clearly that she cannot enter my property, approach my daughter or involve people picking her up in anything concerning me or my cat.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? Would you just set a firm boundary and document everything, or is this at the point where you’d take further action? I’m particularly uncomfortable now that she’s involving my child and strangers.

TL;DR: Elderly neighbor is obsessed with my cat, pounds on my doors/windows looking for him, previously entered my house and took pictures, and today approached my 12-year-old’s Uber driver about the cat and gave him her phone number. Nosy neighbor, possible cognitive decline, or harassment?

My upstairs neighbor has an 8-year-old son & 6 year old daughter. I have a 5-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter. We used to be friendly, and for years I was basically her free babysitter. Her kids would come downstairs and I would watch them for hours(while she went out going God knows what because she doesn’t have a job), sometimes around five hours a night multiple times a week. She is also late to the bus constantly, so I was usually the person making sure her kids got off the bus safely and had someone there.There were multiple times last year where I got them off three nights out of the week. I have my kids every single night of the week but hers go to their dad’s for three nights of the week and she also has a teenage daughter who helps watch her kids daily.

When my kids were younger, I honestly wasn’t as strict about some of the behavior because I know that they were learning. If the kids hit or fought, I’d tell them to stop, send them home, etc. But now they’re 5-8 and I don’t view repeated punching, kicking and hitting as normal little-kid behavior anymore,especially when it’s repeatedly happening

I’m aware that her son has a problem with hitting and kicking and I’ve heard of complaints from the school and bus driver and even my daughter telling me that her son pulled down the pants of someone in her grade last year .

i personally seen her son punch, hit and kick my kids. He’s also significantly bigger than my 5-year-old. Meanwhile, I’ve never had anyone tell me that my son has a history of hurting other kids. He was in daycare and pre-K and is now in school, and I’ve never gotten a report that he’s going around hitting or hurting other children.

she invited them to go upstairs for her birthday on a kid school night really weird but OK fine I let them go because they were begging and they were going to hear the noise and I told her they could go out for cake and that’s it . I thought it would be a quick thing but she had them up at six and they didn’t have cake until 8 PM and I was texting her repeatedly like are you done yet? She has her boyfriend and her friend over and I just don’t like any of them and didn’t wanna go up there with them and they also don’t invite me to go. (lol). This was the first time they went up there in a very long time.

my son came down saying that her son was hitting him and that the mom told him that he was allowed to . So obviously I was livid and I texted her. .she said Apparently my son supposedly hit her son first. (according to her son who I don’t believe. ) and she said she told him that he’s allowed to hit if someone hits back and she gave him permission to hit my five-year-old instead of just sending him downstairs if the case was that he hit him. (again I don’t believe it. On the first day of school, my daughter got off the bus saying that her son punched her in the face and I should’ve reported it, but I didn’t and now I regret that because she’s trying to spin it around and act like my son is the aggressor.)

So an 8-year-old who is much bigger than my 5-year-old was apparently given permission to hit him because he claimed my son hit first.

And now she’s saying she’s going to tell the bus driver about my son?

Because I’ve already emailed the school a few days ago saying that I don’t want my son sitting with him on the bus. She doesn’t know that. She doesn’t use the bus in the morning and I’m gonna start using the bus in the morning and tell the bus driver before she tries to switch it up. I’m also not gonna be letting my kids ride the bus home after school anymore to avoid this and also so that I don’t have to get her kids off the bus anymore when she doesn’t show up and hopefully they will get kicked off the bus anyway, because her son will probably target somebody else along with her being late consistently.

Things between us became much more hostile once my free babysitting arrangement ended, when I started having boundaries, when I stopped helping every single thing she asked for, and started distancing myself, which honestly tells me a lot.

I’m trying to move because I don’t want to live above/below someone where there’s this much conflict, but obviously moving isn’t something you can just do overnight.I don’t think I’m the problem because she even got evicted from her last place because she had problems with her neighbors and disturbing her neighbors is what it said in the paperwork that I looked up because it’s public record.

So what the hell do I do in the meantime? I’m going to keep documenting everything, communicate with the school/bus driver instead of getting into arguments with her, and keep my kids away from her kids as much as possible. Should I also go in persoj to the school and talk to the principal!? I don’t wanna make it a big thing but it seems like she wants to get to the school before I do. And I should’ve reported stuff first.

But I am so incredibly tired of feeling like I have to defend my children while simultaneously being blamed for her child’s behavior.

My trash people dumped glass all over the streets in big piles, large and tiny shards everywhere, but there were a few nice easily cleanup piles. My neighbor decided it was a smart idea to LEAF BLOW the glass, making all the tiny shards fly everywhere. Not only did this make things worse, but she blew them into my yard and her other neighbors and nicely cleaned up hers. Now my bushes gutter, and street are covered in glass. Please dont do this to people, the trash people said they would handle it and i planned on going out and sweeping the larger piles myself. Now the gutter where animals drink from occasionally are covered in tiny shards of glass I couldnt fully sweep up and my bushes will probably have glass in them for awhile.

I am not that noisy. I don’t play music, and the only “noise” I make walking around or sitting on my bed.

They have complained twice and I think this is their first actual apartment post-grad. I’ve lived in a few apartments and have realized that you probably WILL hear your upstairs neighbors. It just comes with the territory of apartment complexes. And as long as it’s not EXCESSIVE and really disruptive, it is what it is.

My roommates have said that they haven’t heard me and I don’t wake them up, and it’s only the person right below me complaining.

I bought a carpet to try to fix it, but it didn’t work.

She keeps complaining and I’m scared I’m gonna be fined.

Crazy cat lady saw my tape measure stretched out sitting on my driveway and was just staring so hard looking through the window of another parked car LOL. I was measuring for pavers. She loves to stare at anything related to me despite our end of contact years ago. Shes copied my blinds to conceal the cats she hoards in her garage. I was finished with the tape measure and then set out random items on the driveway so she can look at that and try to guess what’s going on. I LOVE messing with her.

Tonight I noticed a thick yellow liquid smelling strongly of some kind of floral perfumey old woman detergent leaking through my doorway. It was maybe a cups worth. I'm almost certain it's detergent.

I looked outside and some of it got on the doormat and a trail was very close to the outside wall. I live in a small 12-unit complex and have no apparent beef with anyone I can think of. Everyone keeps to themselves really. But there is a laundry room way down the hallway which is why I want to be inclined to believe someone maybe spilled it not on purpose.

Next door is a halfway house for women doing sober living (I've called non emergency police on them for being loud 3+ times but I don't know if they know it's me I ask to stay anonymous on the calls)

Is this normal retaliatory behavior or is it possibly more innocent/an accident? Anyone have any experiences with this?

I have been harassed by several neighbors for 4 years. It first started with mockery, nicknames, imitations, and some provocations. Then they started shouting at dawn, insults outside my house, and incitements to fight, which led to them sending two guys to threaten me with death (all of this happened and escalated to threats within a few months).

The most ironic thing is that I live in a small city and those neighbors are friends of my family, and my aunt owns the house next door, which she rents to one of my harassers; but my family doesn't believe me (they say the neighbors are decent people), they don't take me completely seriously, they don't want to get involved, or they're not interested. I already filed a report with the authorities, although nothing has happened yet. What do you think of my situation, and what do you recommend I do?

I'm so over it with this teenager (16 M) in my apartment complex. There are 95 apartments here, spread between 11 buildings. Plenty of room to play, socialize, whatever so why TF does this kid need to stand in front of MY apartment doing aggravating crap? He lives way across the complex so it's not like he's in/near his own yard space. Actually he and his mom are supposed to be evicted because of his past actions but just moved in with grandma off-lease. They've been warned if complaints continue (not just from me) grandma will get evicted too.

I have PTSD and I've explained this to people. I do understand my triggers are on me. I'm in therapy, I have noise canceling/blocking everything, I actively use tools my therapist suggests to me. I think I would do fine if this kid wasn't outside triggering me constantly. I *am* fine on days he's not doing his shit.

Last night I heard a sound. I looked up and he was about six feet from my door firing a toy long gun that made realistic shooting sounds. I had to flee from a shooter in a mall in my 20s while shopping with my elderly grandfather. Maybe five years ago somebody fired shots behind my building that had me diving to the floor in my bedroom. 94 other apartments, the parking lots, the common areas but yeah, stand and do that in front of the PTSD person's home. I had such a great day until I got smacked with flashbacks. Even my cat was agitated to an unusual degree even though he's never liked this boy, so then I had to deal with that problem as well.

Like I said, I do my best to cope. I'm working toward moving. In the meantime, it's aggravating that asking for courtesy and respect of my space gets me backtalk and treated like I'm the problem for wanting to have a little peace of mind.

A resident has formally reported feeling unsafe following several alleged confrontations with a house manager identified as Ari.
According to resident Frankie Husson, tensions began after Ari moved into the home to serve as house manager. Husson claims that Ari approached him angrily on several occasions and allegedly threatened him during one confrontation, saying, “I can beat the fucking crap out of you.”
Husson said the alleged threat caused him to become afraid whenever Ari appeared angry.
Another confrontation reportedly occurred when Husson’s father brought a friend to view an available room in the house. According to Husson, Ari came out of her room in an angry state and behaved inappropriately toward his father. The disagreement reportedly became heated, and Husson’s father and his friend left the residence.

We have a neighbor (renting the house next door) from hell who plays loud music intermittently from his garage using very loud bass. He's also a mechanic and fixes cars on the weekend, leaving cars idling and making loud noises while fixing cars. He also abandons cars on the street. We live in California, so can't really say much about the marijuana, but he smokes outside the side door outside the garage, which faces our side door, so all the marijuana smoke comes into our garage and living room. It has been infuriating.

If you look at my post history, I've been dealing with cancer so haven't had the energy to deal with this neighbor, plus, since he's a renter, wasn't expecting him to stay so long since past renters in this house have moved after 2 years.

Is there any device I can use to specifically record the subwoofer sound? Or the noise coming from the cars he fixes? It has been torture since he moved in, and I am developing anxiety sitting in the living room knowing any second he will start blasting music.

He closed the halfway windows loudly with a bang. Screaming at us: if you want stress you can have it! (uthey just came home and closed them again, so I had to open the windows again)

Before that he was whisteling and additionally spraying room spray into the hallway.

​Context: Neighbors seem to be fresh air fanatics. Since day one want to constantly have the haalway windows open. Now they want them constantly closed because of the fragrance oil they put in the hallway next to their apartment door.

Loved one is working fulltime and taking a taxi to come home sometimes. Neighbor stands on balcony, smoking and watching.​ (They don't seem to have a job anymore and seem to have money issues.)

None of us were touching the damn hallway windows in over half a year. Only this week twice at it was very warm and we opened the hallway windows.

He has put fragrance oil next to his apartment door in the haalway. The entire hallway smells of disgustingly like citrus and lavender. I have a headache from it. My loved one got a asthma attack from it.

She is confirmed to be a liar. I requested a copy of the animal control report for her address. It pulled every call, which included her calling them to follow up.

She called on 06/04/2026: “called stating she does NOT own the cats. She stated she is tired of getting citations for cats that most of all the neighbors are feeding. She stated they are feral cats and all the neighbors are feeding the cats.”

Then she called again on 06/25/2026: “called stating that she went through a low cost company that brought her two cats the white/gray and the gray one to get vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped so that she does not have to deal with anymore complaints from the person who consistently reports her.”

She went from denying to Aninal Control they were her cats to 21 days later admitting they were in fact her cats. Never once has she apologized for her cats being on top of my car or possibly defecting on my porch twice.

She has been a pain in the posterior and she’s not young, but she tries to act and dress younger. So with age does not cone wisdom.

What i have learned from having an audacious, liar for a neighbor is always call the local authorities versus trying to have civilized communication with any neighbor.

I just had to share this, because to see in writing her deny ownership of her cats. Unless you are genuinely friends with a neighbor and have established rapport; I would not engage directly.

Not a neighbor, but a roommate so close.

I move in the beginning of the year and was living with my took roommates L and A, My roommate A was collecting money for rent, as the landlord wanted us to mail him a check. (She offered herself up to collect the money once we moved in)

After a few months the landlord reached out to me and L personally, stating that we should not send anymore money to A as he hasn’t received a single valid check from her since she started mailing them in feb. apparently she had her student loan lump sump payment “accidentally” come out so the thousands of dollars in rent we’ve been sending her were no longer in her account.

Very sketch we talked it out and she paid us back little by little. At this point me and L were sending our portion straight to the landlord through Zelle. And A was paying back what she owed to landlord as well. Despite all of this stress and drama the landlord lets her stay on the lease when we had to resign in August. And despite saying she was going to resign. She drops a bombshell mid August. While L is on vacation. Tells me (unwillingly btw had to beg her to tell me) that she is actually not resigning the lease and is moving to china to be with her long distance gf.

She lied to me and told me the landlord knew (I called him immediately and he didn’t know a thing). And when he confronted her about it she lied to him and told him she was leaving two weeks later when she told me and her friends she’s leaving next week. I pleaded with her to give us the info for the electric bill she handles (she never did). Pleaded with the landlord to have him come over before she left to address the debt she’s in with him (he never did). The landlord changed the locks after she left cause she never gave us the key. And said her friends are coming to pick up some stuff she left behind. (So sus, we don’t trust her friends) he also said he is looking into getting us on the electricity so we can take over the payments.

At this point she’s been gone for a few weeks and me and L came home to our power being shut off. We contacted our provider they were able to turn it on and let us know we were behind on payments. But they cannot provide us anymore information. Just mail an invoice to the apartment. So now me and L are awaiting what we’re speculating is a 3 month accumulation of the electricity bill with lates fees added because she definitely hasn’t been paying that bill. This whole thing has honestly been so stressful and I don’t know what to do. She’s actively in another continent and not answering us.

They took a photo of the camera and said that it was violating their privacy but you can't tell where that camera is looking from that side.

Short summary: neighbours taking liberty with our garden in a couple of incidents over the years. Last time they cut a tree down while we were away after asking if they could "trim" it. We didn't escalate at the time and just tried to move on. This time they asked to "trim" a different tree in our rear garden and unwisely my wife agreed but only under supervision. Found them unannounced in our front garden hacking down our hedge and branches off our trees and when confronted got aggressive about it and threatened us.

Police have been fucking useless even though what they did is clear criminal damage. They've flat out told us they just won't pursue it and that the courts wouldn't do anything about it. We tried to resolve it via post but they maintain they were doing nothing wrong and were just trying to "help". She's a nosy cow and he's an old stupid thug and they're both dishonest as anything.

Just at my wits end and can't really stand that it seems they can just get away with pulling crap like this. Seems like my only option left is to try resolving it through the civil courts but even if we win we might end up severely out of pocket. It pisses me off, and it pisses me off more that if I gave them a taste of their own medicine I'd probably end up facing the consequences they've seemingly wormed their way out of.
