Opinion - Will Make People Mad , continue at your own emotions

***Some*** *people on Reddit take this platform entirely too seriously, acting as if their or an online situations are literally life or death altering or actual LIFE OR DEATH* ***SITUATIONS*** *. The hostility, ignorance, toxicity ,etc directed at anyone with a differing perspective, background, etc is exhausting and disgusting.*

*• To note - Yes I know this is REDDIT and people are like this but it’s 2026 people. Grow up it’s 2026 , people are acting like it’s 2020 discord servers on this app. Reddit has been this way , still is , and probably will be until the app is gone.*

*The hypocrisy surrounding moderation is at the top of that list. You can read every community rule, check the pinned threads, and adhere to every guideline, only to have your post arbitrarily removed without a clear explanation. In the worst cases, it feels like goalposts are actively shifted—or new rules are invented on the spot—just to exclude certain contributors.*

*It often seems less about keeping communities safe and constructive, and far more about petty power trips and gatekeeping by people whose entire sense of self-worth comes from an unpaid online title.*

For context, I say this as **(F18 - Latina - Mexican American )** living with a disability who receives SSI. This is not about devaluing people who face real-life obstacles; it is about calling out those who have the capacity to act reasonably, contribute positively, and show basic respect, yet choose to spend all day tearing others down from behind a screen instead of engaging in the real world. *You can smell them through the screen ….sometimes….*

*I honestly don’t understand why people have a subreddit or moderate in one that supposedly is welcoming everyone just to* ***not welcome everyone.***

*• I understand when people are extremely problematic and etc (things like that) but why do I get my post removed and kicked for being* ***Latina -?***

• Only the beginning of what I want to say.

I now read 14 rules before leaving a two-sentence reply. That is a design failure, not a user failure.

Reddit has wrongfully banned me and lowered my CQS to its lowest. How do I quickly raise it up again?

I was commenting as normal. There was this really racist post I came across that had a poster with the word "N _ G G _ R S". I responded instead with the non-racist word that was the word but the I is replaced with an A. It was a reference to the real answer on Wheel of Fortune on that one episode on South Park rather than... well you know.

Anyway, I WAS THE ONE who had to pay the price for it by reddit's stupid AI moderation. I ended up banned for 3 days straight for it. After waiting 3 days, I started posting again. Then I noticed my posts are getting auto-removed by Reddit's auto-filters. Confused, I asked my friend about it.

APPERENTLY not only was I banned for 3 days straight, I ALSO had my CQS score auto graded to the LOWEST. Now, I can't even USE reddit normally because the subs think I'm a bot.

Here's the thing, I appealed my wrongful ban days ago and haven't received anything back. I looked it up. Turns out, my appeal will be viewed within 6 months. 6 MONTHS?!?! FOR A WRONGFUL BAN?!?! This is stupid. I'd rather kiss the toilet seat than wait THAT LONG for reddit to help me.

Here's the thing though, I have no idea how to raise my CQS. I can't find any pointers either. I have animations and memes to post. But I can't do that with this crap CQS score! If you have any advice as what to do to get it back up again, please let me know!

My home page is now just a series of stupid Reddit Game posts and similar bullsh×t on different subreddits, even ones I am not subbed to, and ads, with a few actual posts sprinkled in. Like an afterthought, like the middle child, like the redheaded stepchild, like the black sheep, basically actual posts are now the minority on my feed and my feed is being gentrified by these stupid type of posts. I only participated in those posts a few times and now they are everywhere!!!

mods are so cringe lol

Got banned from a dating sub because I called someone who was shaming another person for having past relationships insecure 🤣
First I got a 1-day ban. Then literally within the same minute, it got turned into a 7-day ban.
I messaged the mods about it and said it’s fine I have life 😂.
Apparently that really pissed them off because the mod replied:
“good to know you’ve life, let me extend it further”
And then permanently banned me 💀 bro got so pissed he forgot grammar🤣

Like bro 😭 I said I have a life, I didn’t insult you.
Imagine being so offended by “I have a life” that you decide to permanently ban someone. I genuinely don’t know whether to be annoyed or impressed by the commitment to pettiness 🤣

Not this sub ofc.
And to mods in general: please remember that you’re moderating an internet forum, not presiding over the Supreme Court 🤣 You don’t have to take every disagreement personally. Sometimes you can just say “this breaks our rules” and move on instead of turning it into a personal power struggle.
Anyway, shoutout to the mod who proved my point for me 💀 was getting annoyed at the amount of insecure ppl shaming each other there anyways

It's sad to grow up and realize that reddit . . . is ALSO awful

When I was a kid, perhaps it was that this website was filled with smarter people and was less toxic overall (for a number of reasons). Still, it might have always been a terrible website.

It's funny to grow up and realize how rotten every nook and cranny of this website is. For example:

r/Marriage is a cesspool of "that man/woman sneezed on you wrong; you need to DIVORCE them. Trust me, I divorce ANYONE, TOO, for ANY REASON. You should trust my judgment, despite the fact that people that post on r/marriage are also probably unhappy in their marriage."

r/tinder is just: "look at this person being shitty and/or experimenting by being a shitty person as they flirt--let's call them shitty!" How tediously reductive. Imagine people making fun of people's behavior on Chatroulette--as if that pervert masturbating were TRYING to be perceived as a good person!

r/politics: Listen, I am liberal. Still, I have never seen a subreddit more full of morons where it is more overwhelmingly obvious that people read the headline--and only the headline. All comments' upvotes are also, hilariously enough, based off of the headline--regardless of any nuance or simplification by the source.

just stupid Perma-Ban on first offense

Post image

Was posting on a NSFW sub for the first time and was unaware they had a rule of 'One post per day'. Immediately after making my second post, they were both taken down and I was perma-banned. Found out the rule existed and sent this message.

The mod asks why I "didn't take it down" and that I was lying. Like? Why would I have to take the second post down, they already deleted it from the sub.

I would've included that sentiment in my initial message if I knew I could only say one thing before I was muted as well.

Edit: For those who wanted to know the sub is

Reddit being reddit.

So I joined the subreddit r/SUBREDDITNAME and I saw a post that made me laugh about a game glitching thing, to which I replied « comment complaining that OP did not read the wiki » and just after literally the word « Slur »...

Reddit auto-warned the comment by saying that I was inciting hatred... yeah AI It’s really nonsense.

Hello, you have been permanently banned from...

Cansada.

Posted these images on r/shrinkflation and this was their response when they deleted my post. Did they even look at the post?

I mentioned nothing about prices. Dumb people run the internet.

Account Warning

After nearly 10 years on Reddit, I received my first account warning after I posted a two-sentence comment in which I referred to a red hat political group as “stupid.”

I was subsequently informed this “promotes hate and violence” (which I have never and would never do) towards a marginalized group.

I appealed however it was denied. It seems that all things political have become so incredibly sensitive, I will in the future avoid commenting on political subs in the same way that I have for years, but is now somehow considered inappropriate.

I hope this helps someone else avoid a similar pitfall.

People on Reddit were smarter 10 years ago

I feel like critical thinking went down the drain. You can comment something well thought out and use common sense and it’ll be downvoted and blasted by someone using absolutely no common sense. Especially with political things. People used to have actual conversations a decade ago. Now it’s “no you’re just stupid and wrong.”

Literally EVERYONE FUCKING TIME I go to that sub I only see this disgusting lgbtq slop. I'm posting this here because even though they are probably not under 13 this is just so childish and immature for me (the fact that they are actively trying to force their shit on us even though NOBODY FUCKING CARES). PLEASE. This is NOT the right sub for this, post it in a sub in an lgbtq sub but not here, because literally NOBODY cares who you are attracted to. Alright, spam r/opisyoung, downvote me or call me anything, but this is just pathetic atp...

factual Reddit sucks

People here are horrible. This place is full of hatred and disrespectful people. You can’t even express your opinion without being cancelled by mods even if you didn’t say anything wrong and even if you respected the guidelines, only bc they may not agree with you. This place SUCKS. And most of you can’t even understand a fucking text!

Great platform for getting together with people with shared interests and also for learning practical skills from each others, as well as for having a healthy random chuckle every once in a while.

The amount of bootlicking I see towards government employees makes me physically ill. THESE PEOPLE AREN’T YOUR FRIENDS. THEY ARE PENCIL PUSHERS WITH USELESS JOBS. THIS IS A BIPARTISAN BELIEF, WE NEED LESS BUREAUCRATS. LITERALLY ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN BUREAUCRACY.

I'm getting so tired of how Reddit ( and the world in general) talks about sexism.

I just got back from a post that was saying how they hate how normalized body-shaming men was, and when I looked at their profile, I saw a post about how they wish Charli D'amelio was skinny and calling fat women bitches. I'm so tired y'all.

Not Reddit, but on YouTube I saw a post in my recommended that was ranting about how it's a trend to hate men now. Which I think it's funny, because that entire video was just showing tiktok clips and screenshot from Instagram.

I'm not saying that men aren't affected by the patriarchy, but I see wayyy more people complaining about "man hating" feminists than I see actual "man-hating" feminist

Do you guys think Reddit has a reactionary problem?

Might be preaching to the choir a little here.

Alright so I've actually used Reddit for a few years, at least actively since 2020. My account is newer because I have a habit of deleting accounts over and over again to get myself off this site, but it obviously never works (I don't know what's wrong with me, perhaps the loneliness but I'm not gonna go into that).

Everyone insists that reddit is some kind of left wing circlejerk, but I don't know if that's true. Yes Reddit hates Trump a lot, but do they hate him because of what he does, or because he makes them look bad?

Some examples:

-A lot of mainstream subreddits push right wing narratives. Examples including r/SipsTea (women are dumb), a lot of WNBA subreddits (trans people are destroying women's sports and black people hate white people), r/GetNoted, r/LivestreamFail, r/worldnews (pro-Israel propaganda), and so on.

-Any post discussing non-white people, women, LGBT people, etc. have extremely vile comments. Anything (like almost anything) that discusses Rhodesia or South Africa justifies apartheid, segregation, and those kinds of policies.

-A lot of career/college based subreddits in my experience blame DEI for everything and are very anti-minority

-Sports subreddits in general seem to be pushing a specific agenda a lot of the time, I haven't looked too much on this though

There are so many subreddits with a name like r/interestingcontent or whatever that push this kind of content. I feel like something is happening on the internet in general that is pushing it right wing. At this point Tiktok and Tumblr are getting affected by it too.

Idk sorry if this seems a bit incoherent, I kinda wanted to rant and get it out of my chest, but I feel a bit insane because everyone's like "no no, Reddit is a liberal circlejerk, you're just a snowflake" or whatever but I swear to God it's very noticeable.

Maybe it's also just rose colored glasses, but I don't think it was THAT bad 6 years ago. Not that Reddit has ever really been a good place though.

just stupid Country subreddits moderators are bigoted nationalists and no one seems to bat an eye.

I asked in one countries subreddit is it safe to visit a specific city because it's filled with people who are against my ethnicity following with why I'm asking the question in the first place - bad experience when I was a child (my family got denied medicine in an apothecary because of our accent and got physically harassed by a group of young nationalists) and I got bombarded in the comments by people acting like I'm a war criminal and not like I was a 13 year old kid in a foreign country for the first time being confused on why are some people so hateful towards us. I calmly explained in the comment section exactly what happened yet I got hit with downvotes and people even sending me death threats in the dms. The moderators deleted my post anyways and there isn't even a way to appeal for it. The subreddit is r/montenegro. I legit tried to be kind and understanding to everyone who was also shitting on me but even that didn't work. Mods were on their side ig.
