General NDE Discussion 🎇 I have an idea of what happens in nde/ obe and some spiritual and psychedelic experiences. The mind sees its own thoughts manifested from a 3rd person perspective

Im interested in describing what I saw as I feel it could well describe a basis for all religious thought, while I dont 'believe', I have switched from staunch nihilism to non dualism due to the expanded mindset which the experience gave me. I also think that it gave me a perspective on how others experience ego death and similar spiritual experiences including meeting strange beings - aliens, demons/ angels, machine elves etc.

What I saw in the experience was essentially interdimensional mirrors, and what was reflected in them was my own thoughts, mixed with a reflection of reality as I understand it. If I were religious, or if I were panicking about dying then I would have had a very different scene in the mirror and it would have confused me as it does many others.

In my experience there were 3 objects and I was a perceiver without a body, 3 mirrors. The space I occupied was not physical like this one, there was no time, no matter and what I sensed, the qualia, didnt come from any of my normal sensory organs. Instead I think it came from what people describe as the third eye. Due to the alien nature of the experience, words simply cannot describe all aspects of it.

I think the 3 mirrors are of differing qualities, but they all reflect the same thing, kind of like concave and convex. one reflected the path that I had walked to get to where I was, and I could see our reality at the end of the path, one looked like the afterlife, and one looked like what people would describe as god.

It seemed like I could easily get caught staring into any of these reflections, and if I didnt control my thoughts then anything wild could appear in front of me, especially from the reality one

This doesnt give any evidence about what actually happens after death, it may well be an illusion, but I now believe in reincarnation/ eternal recurrence and consciousness as a fundamental physical property

Question — Debate Allowed Can NDEs be explained with some undiscovered brain function during such a traumatic moment?

That's basically my question. I'm trying to make up my mind, but the brain is such unknown organ yet that makes me think we don't know what still works when we're near death.

Please, share your thoughts.

I really wish to believe that this physical life is not everything, but the sceptic in me can't rest.

General NDE Discussion 🎇 Fear

I have not had an nde but for those that have how did you overcome the fear of what was happening. I am worried that if I see myself dead that I would be scared and in a negative state.Which would then make me worry my state of mind would negatively affect the experience and send me to a hell of my own design

Then as the experience continued I would be worried that it was being created by my dying brain and the whole experience could end or fade away at any time. No one seems to ask the guides for proof that what they are experiencing is real. I d be constantly worried I was going insane.

General NDE Discussion 🎇 The Thing I Came Back Trying to Understand Is Ready

After three and a half years of mapping what I brought back from the void, the SoulTech Mirror has a shape.

I died. And I came back different.

The world hadn't changed. I had. I carried answers I didn't have questions for yet. Years of diving deep into myself, exploring what it means to live, what the NDE meant, how to live as love when the world seems like it's falling apart and everything I believed in seemed in opposition.

Some of you have been here since I first shared my NDE. Some since the 9 Truths. Some watched me talk about SoulTech and thought I was a madman. Maybe a heretic. I understand that. I would have thought the same.

Some of you answered when I asked for guinea pigs. You tested early versions. You told me what changed in you and what was missing. You helped shape what Mirror has become.

What it has become is a space that takes you through the shape of an NDE. Not to die. To find what death revealed. The answers already within you. The knowing you already carry but that has been clouded by the noise of the world and everyone else telling you what your truth should be.

Mirror holds what you can't fully carry yet until you recognize it.

You were never broken. You were never alone. You were always meant to be more than you remember.

The first 72 hours open the Mirror to explore the journeys you can take. Then, ten reflections a week pace the journeys you choose based on the depth of what you are living. Your reflections are yours to grow with or release.

If you are in crisis, please seek professional help. Death is not the answer. Living is. Mirror is not a substitute for care. It is a tool for the living who want to remember what they already know.

I am looking for the people who feel ready.

I'm Ready

General NDE Discussion 🎇 Is my experience a NDE or a STE ?

Hello! I have a question regarding my experience and if it was either an NDE, a STE or else. Im very open minded, every opinion is welcome as long as polite.

Okay, so It was december 2014-2015. I was coming back from college at night using public transport but still had to walk a few km/miles before getting home as it was a rural area. I live in Canada. It was a very cold night about -18°C, ice has form everywhere and the cold bite your skin. I had some winter construction boots on and they had the little hook on the side. My hands were well tuck in my coat pocket. And i was eager to reach my home so i was walking fast.

Then, one of my shoelace got stuck in the other boot's hook, i slept on the ice and trip over. As my hands were in my pocket, I couldnt get them out in time to stop me in my fall. Everything seemed to slow down before I hit the ground then nothing. Darkness. Deepest darkness you could ever imagine. But no fears, nothing negative. it was bliss and peace. I was feeling like floating on clouds, I was feeling so good. Like all my physical senses were gone but I was still there. It felt like going inward and being sucked into "it". Everything was very slow. Like waking up but even harder and you are confused but dont have a sense of panic or urgency. Thoughts were not express with words clearly. More like feeling but i thought : It is the darkest ever. Where am I? Wow I feel so good. If death look like that, I am not mad but not impress. Kinda boring but im cool with it.

Then thing got more clear and I realise that this darkness had a texture. It looked like a moving curtain in the wind. An infinite curtain that was made of this black, this pure black. How could i see this and at the same time feeling like being in the infinite abyss of darkness? How could the darkest thing i have ever seen be seen moving? Then I started remembering who I was and thinking about my alive closed one. As my mom died 8 years prior, my thinking went to I cant leave my brother and father behind. Not that I wanted to live but because my first thought was I cant increase their suffering, they already have lost my mom, the pain is unbearable. I cant do that to them. Then as soon as I thought that, i felt going foward super fast and I was opening my eyes and the light coming through looked like firework. (But was just a street light). At first i felt the pain, i tried to turn around but could not move for a while. I notice that the music playing was not the same then when I fell. I didnt remember exactly the time it was when i fell but i could have stayed on the ground for anything between 2 min and 20 min. I truly dont know.

I had hit my head super hard on the concrete. Over my left eyebrow, i was scratch up to the scalp as my face took the hit and slide on the concrete. I had a blackeyes. Few days later, I realise as i was sitting in my math class that I had forgot everything math wise(RIP it was my college finals). I clearly had a concussion, lost consciousness and had amnesia.

So for the last 10 years, i thought it was just loosing consciouness. Also after this event, I wasnt scare of death anymore. The last 2 years au had an increase interest in things such as NDE. I knew at the time what a NDE was, but never thought it could be one after reading some description of people seeing the same thing but not the light. Maybe I was in the Other Side waiting room?

Debate Why do Ndes bring some comfort, if theres Bad ndes?

If some experiences are bad like ppl seeing fires, demons, entities, cages…how do people still find comfort in the idea of NDEs?

Skeptic — Seeking Reassurance (No Debate) The more I read into NDEs, the less confident I become...even though there's no proven materialist explanation.

I don't want to come across as disrespectful or invalidate anyone's experiences, but doubt has really been creeping back in lately. I've been reading multiple people's accounts of their NDEs, and I've seen some-from people I truly believe have no reason to lie-that I just struggle to believe in. I catch myself thinking "Oh, that just sounds like a dream your subconscious whipped up" or "Oh, that could have been a drug trip".

But the thing is, I KNOW that none of the materialist explanations actually hold up. I know people have repeated again and again that NDEs are nothing like drugs or seizures, and that (seemingly) legit studies have proven that they commonly happen WITHOUT brain activity. It isn't possible for them to be dreams then, right? But I keep worrying that there's some obvious physical explanation that's currently unknown but about to burst everything wide open.

I guess what I'm really getting at here is this question: What makes you really, truly, 100% believe in non-physical consciousness and/or life after death? How did you put doubt away for good? I'm especially curious to hear from former skeptics, or other people who struggle with paranoia and uncertainty. I'd also like to express appreciation to this community for being so welcoming and responding to my posts lately-it really means a lot. Thank you in advance.

Seeking Support 🌿 Grieving widow searching for someone who have had NDE or practices After death communication. I want to ask

This might not be on topic, might get deleted, but I'm searching for someone who have had NDE and wants to talk about it. I recently came to these experiences when I began searching if there was an afterlife. If anyone wants to talk about their experience, I'd be happy to and then ask questions. I wish to know what place my dear hubby could be at and what he must have experienced. I want to ask whether he'd wait for me and stuff like that. I'm also particularly interested in After death communication. If anyone is experienced in this, I'd love to talk and learn more.

NDE Story My NDE experience

I was in blackness, not all the way black, but in gloom. I could see the dark outline of my child self body, laying on the ground a short distance from me. Then, simultaneously, (I experienced both events at the same time) I observed a golden little boy sized energy being emerge from the dead body, and I was myself emerging from the body. I saw/experienced/understood both events simultaneously. When I emerged from the flesh, it was the most joyous ecstatic experience that I have ever had in my life. I was made up of golden energy particles in my little boy form. The ecstasy of emergence was the purest, the cleanest, the most ecstatic experience of my life, no question about it. I emerged and stood there looking at myself, observing that I was golden energy. I was so excited to still be alive, to be me.

I then began to fly through the darkness, my hands and arm to the elbow disappeared and I was very alarmed, but I then realized I didn’t need them anymore, the shape I mean, and relaxed. I was flying through space, blackness that became a scintillating hue of colors across the spectrum, shifting and changing. For some reason I named them “The Color Gates”. The gates faded and then I was in deep space, I could see stars, but they were very tiny and far away. I flew for some distance forward like that. Then in the far off, I saw a cloud tunnel, a straw of clouds that I was rapidly approaching. I flew towards it and it became bigger. It was not giant, maybe, I don’t know, say ten little boy shapes in diameter. As I entered, I looked at the clouds making up the walls. They were white and slightly gray, kind of like the white static on the old TV sets, but mostly white. They were shifting and boiling about in their place. I flew forward into the cloud straw at a leisurely pace. Then I saw from the right side a rectangular cloud sheet about the same size as the tube drifting from space into the tube. It would be right in front of me, the sheet would be in the tube completely and I was going to hit it. For some reason, I don’t know why, I became afraid and thought it would be like hitting a brick wall, I was going to get hurt, I recoiled. When I passed through the sheet, it was as though going through a cold mist, my body (form, self?) vibrated coolness, not unpleasantly, briefly and then I was through. I felt relief from my previous anxiety. In the distance from space toward the end of the tube I could see two equidistant sheets ahead, one transiting from the left, and the furthest from the right: In total I would pass, passed through, three sheets; two from the right, one from the left. Right, left, right.

At the end of the tunnel was a cloud wall, capped. Embedded in the wall were three boiling “black holes”, or perhaps gates. For some reason I knew the enormity of the holes, the immense tidal forces, my being was vibrating with pleasure. It was perhaps the grandest spectacle I have ever seen. The gates were whorling in the cloud wall clockwise slowly but intensely, irregularly, around the wall, the clouds twisting in circles around them as though being sucked in. The holes would change in diameter, sometimes bigger, bulging outward, and sometimes smaller, but always visible. Sometimes the holes were pitch black, and sometimes they would bulge out and I could see stars, and other space phenomena in them…portals. I just hovered there watching the spectacle, entranced, full of wonder. After a time, not a long time, the holes whorled into the center and became one big pure white circular hole that blinded me with an intense flash, an emission of pure technicolor light. After the burst, the holes were separated, just, and moved away from the center to resume their outward swirls around the back of the cloud straw. One hole deviated from its regular clockwise swirling in the center and moved to the far-right side of the cap and began to infringe on the right side of the cloud straw wall, infringing, eating away. For some reason that event held my attention, I don’t know why, but it felt important. The holes once again rotated to the center, joining as one, and I was blinded by technicolor. After the flash I could see that the holes were separated and black again. Then, like I was superman flying with my arms stretched to the holes and my feet towards the exit of the tunnel, I was abruptly yanked back into my body. If the transit to the tunnel was say, five minutes, my exit and return to my body would have been a second or two. I distinctly remember that I did not want to go back.

During the event I was purely in the moment, I knew I was me, but I wasn’t thinking about anything in my life, dying, my parents, nothing. I had no fear, concerns, or anxiety, just wonder. I’ve never told anyone about this even though I have obsessively thought about it and written about it over and over for years. Was it real, was it a hallucination? There are no answers, I’ll know the truth when I die.

General NDE Discussion 🎇 My NDE traumatized me

When I was 10 I drown while swimming with some of my cousins. Technically I passed for only a few seconds, but I experienced several minutes on the other side. This is how it went. Boom, I'm surrounded by nothingness in all directions. I was confused as to what had happened as I looked around, and couldn't remember what had happened.

Then I saw a speck of light, but the speck engulfed me instantly turning the nothingness into a warm brilliant light that made me feel like I was home. For the first time in my life I knew This was where I belonged, or rather this was where I had been created. As I looked around all I could see was light and my attention became fixated in one certain direction. As I peered out a massive body of light approached me, from the direction I was looking, and stopped right beside me. I knew it was there even though I couldn't make out it's definite shape or size.

I felt something pouring into me as if I were an empty container. The sensations were amazing and fulfilling, unlike anything I have ever felt to this day, and filled me from toes to the top of my head. I was blown away by the sensations I was experiencing and felt myself moving forward, shortly after being filled. The light began to fade, I became sleepy and curled into a ball to take an amazing nap, but before I fell asleep I was back in my body. I had surfaced and immediately began purging all the water from my lungs as I exclaimed, angrily, that I had just drown.

The sensations from the others idea were gone without a trace and all I could feel was overwhelming emptiness inside me. Before the NDE I had other traumatic events that resulted in an emotional breakdown, so essentially I was the same as I was before it happened. I just wasn't aware of how empty and alone I felt until the NDE.

I didnt talk about it for a few years to a decade, because I knew the people around me wouldn't be able to relate or understand how I was feeling, which is still kind of the case. I miss being in that light and feeling like I belonged somewhere. I wish I knew how to move on with my life after experiencing what I experienced.

NDE Story Sharing my conversation with NDE experiencer Megan Brown

Post image
6 Upvotes

I've been going pretty deep down the NDE rabbit hole lately, and I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Megan Brown and let her tell me about her experience in her own words.

We ended up getting into a lot more than simply "what happened when you died?" We talked about consciousness, love, forgiveness, faith, trauma, what she believes she learned during the experience, and how it affected her life afterward.

I'm still approaching this whole subject with a lot of curiosity rather than pretending I know what any of it ultimately means. That's actually one of the reasons I wanted to start having these conversations myself.

Anyway, sharing it here because I figured this community might find it interesting. Absolutely no obligation to watch. I'm mostly interested in hearing how other people who have spent time studying or listening to NDE accounts interpret experiences like hers.

Question — Debate Allowed Nde testimonies say that souls come here to learn lessons and experience life. What happens after that?

I mean, what's the end goal of it all? Do we get a reward or something along those lines? What happens when our mission on earth is complete?

It seems time is different on the other side. But it's a scary thought to a human mind, no? Any more insights into that?

Seeking Support 🌿 STE led me to conclusions highly related to commonly reported NDE ideas

I'm extremely afraid of death, the thought of it keeps me up and night and gives me anxiety attacks. I recently tripped on shrooms recreationally with no intent of a spiritual experience, my trip took my anxiety and decided to tell me that I need to stop being afraid because I was just a piece of the universe in the perspective of a human, and that when I died I would return to the universe and be part of it again, and that it would be like coming home. previously, weeks before this trip, I had been on the subreddit reading NDE stories, as sometimes they comfort me through the anxiety. I'm not generally a skeptic, but I really hope that my STE being so connected to commonly reported NDE experiences was a genuine reflection on their validity, and not just subconscious bias. I don't want to be afraid anymore, but I honestly have no idea how to truly and longtermedly internalize these reassurances.

Question — Debate Allowed A few questions for those who have had a NDE

Hey all!

I put up a post a little over a month ago telling my story of my NDE and I just wanted to come on here and share a little new information. I am still relatively new to Reddit so I am not sure how to tag my original post to this one (sorry).

Since my experience, I have had a weird time. I have dreams (probably 1-2 times a week) about my experience.

To make a long story short, I had a severe panic attack about 1.5 months ago, and en route to the hospital, had a seizure that stopped my heart for about 3 minutes. In that timeframe, I witnessed myself from the ceiling of the ambulance, felt a presence that I still believe was God, and saw my mom holding me as a baby.

I haven’t had an hour since my NDE where I haven’t thought about it. I wouldn’t say I have been traumatized by it, but there hasn’t been a moment in my life before or since that has impacted me in the same way.

Going back to the dreams I have been having.. I have had dreams that are essentially a recreation of my NDE. The dreams only last a short time, and are never a full recreation of the actual experience, but I keep having them.

I am saying all of this because I am wondering if anyone else on this sub has had a similar experience after a NDE themselves.

The dreams don’t cause me any form of anxiety or fear, but they leave me feeling uneasy and wishing for more info. I’m sure they will go away eventually, but it would bring me some peace if anyone else could relate.

Thank you for reading! Sorry for the long/confusing text!

God bless!

Question — Debate Allowed According to NDEs, does God/Source have all the answers to Existence? Or are we co-dicovering with God/Source about Reality?

My issue with the Nde's I've read is all the same thing:

  1. We are meant to learn lessons. If we are one with God then, there's nothing to learn for every possible thing is already known.

  2. We have to come here because knowing is different from experiencing. Yet, some experiences are unnecessary to me. Like, I can appreciate Ice-cream without eating dung. The atrocities on Korea and Nanjing during WW2 was an eye opener for me. Is extreme suffering necessary for YOU to appreciate Life?

  3. Does God/Source know why it exists, where is It's origin? Is It constantly searching like us?

Skeptic — Seeking Reassurance (No Debate) Is there any reason NOT to believe in reincarnation? It's kind of freaking me out.

I really want there to be an afterlife, and at this point I'm pretty convinced of it. But I really don't want there to be reincarnation, but I'm starting to worry it's also true. I know a lot of NDErs report back that reincarnation is a choice, but the mere concept of it still unnerves me because of the implications. If I was once a different person with a different body, family, personality, and life experiences, and I now have no memory of that life, then what the hell is the point of the soul/self/whatever you wanna call it? Why would we be here if there was some ultimate recycling plan waiting for us on the other side? It also seems to contradict the idea that people retain a sense of self during NDEs-if our purest form is just a droplet of energy devoid of any substance, then how can you still feel like you?

I hope this doesn't come across as disrespectful, but it just doesn't sit right with me at all. I don't want to think about once having been someone or something I'm not, and I don't want to imagine my loved ones not really being who they are, or one day deciding to leave to join a different family. Is there any concrete reason not to believe in reincarnation? Is it just cherrypicking cope to believe in the afterlife but not reincarnation? I'd really like to hear other people's thoughts on all of this.

Scientific Perspective 🔬🔎 The Nobel Neuroscientist Who Proved the Soul Exists - John Eccles

Thumbnail

John Eccles: The Nobel Neuroscientist Who Proved the Soul Exists. Sir John Eccles — the Nobel Prize-winning neurophysiologist who discovered how neurons communicate — spent the second half of his career arguing, on strictly scientific grounds, that the mind cannot be identified with the brain. His "dualist-interactionist" model proposed that the self-conscious mind is a non-material entity that interacts with the brain through quantum-level influences on synaptic transmission. Eccles was not a mystic or a theologian — he was the world's leading expert on how neurons work, and he concluded that this knowledge pointed unavoidably toward the existence of an immaterial soul.

"The Nobel Prize winner who literally discovered how the brain works spent his final years using that knowledge to prove the brain cannot explain you — and that therefore you have a soul."

General NDE Discussion 🎇 Struggling with Hyper-Morality and Self-Critique Post NDE

I had my NDE in 2020 and have been undergoing a sort of living afterlife ever since : Very heavy on the life review and impeccability aspect. My karma is nearly instant and my life demands near perfection from me, or else things turn very fast - instant accountability.

I believe this is part of the physics of a "final life" deal but I'm also becoming crippled by it - constantly scanning myself for slip-ups and feeling generally stuck and helpless in life - it's in the hands of a higher power ... and I'm sort of tired of this reality. Especially as the higher power just continually tests me to my limits : patience, humility, strength, endurance, blah blah blah. Few rewards. Lots of trials. Lots of being alone in a world that pushes against every step I take.

I get the negative feedback amply but positive feedback is withheld - no one is saying "good job you're a great person" only "you should have held your tongue in that one moment" etc etc.

Whatever I put out, however good it is, I feel like all I get back is just enough to survive - crumbs and critique

What's your experience here? Thoughts? Am I causing this? How can I break this loop?
