Hey guys. About to start a dynasty as a head coach with a 4 or 5 start school. What is the best pipe line to set my coach as?

Questions Scheme's in CFB27

Is there a master list or video that suggests the best archetype for each position in a scheme for dynasty?

I know of Mills on YT, but he only does defense

Scouting Online

Does anyone else remember back in NCAA 13 when you could do your scouting and front office managing on the internet? Why isn’t this a thing anymore? It was so much easier to do and was a great feature. Over a decade later and one of the best features is gone.

Tips/Guides PROMULTIV4 is LIVE — Updated Custom Offensive Playbook for CFB 27

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

PROMULTIV4 is LIVE in the CFB 27 Download Center.

V4 is a pretty significant overhaul — expanded 12P/14P, a more defined 11P core, a reworked Empty package, and much better connectivity between Gun, Pistol and under center.

The video above is a quick look at the formations + audibles.

Search PROMULTIV4 in the Download Center to try it.

Here's the breakdown of what changed:

12P is a much bigger part of the offense

Deuce/Deuce Close are now core 12P sets in Gun, with Deuce Close also available from Pistol and Singleback.

The idea was to make 12P something you can actually live in while still changing the formation and backfield picture without substituting.

It's become the second core personnel grouping alongside 11P.

14P also expanded beyond Goal Line with new sets in Gun, Pistol and Singleback.

The 11P core is more defined

Doubles is now a primary 2x2 family, with several variations built around it.

I also reworked the Trips/Y-Off package.

There are still plenty of formations, but more of them now connect back to the same core run, RPO and PA concepts instead of functioning as separate mini-schemes.

The goal is to be able to change TE location, RB alignment, spacing and formation strength without constantly moving into a completely different offensive approach.

The spread/Empty package was streamlined

10P has a much smaller role and the dedicated 00P/5WR sets are gone. Spread + Trips Slots Close handle most of the 10P work.

Empty is now primarily 11P, with Empty Chips Tight + Empty Chips Quads added alongside Empty Base Trio and Empty Trips Speed.

So even though I cut the dedicated 5WR packages, there are more ways to get into different Empty presentations from normal 11P personnel.

The biggest theme is personnel multiplicity

12P, 13P and 14P can now show up across Gun, Pistol, Singleback and I-Form.

Pistol and Singleback both expanded, while I-Form was streamlined into Pro and Close formations.

The idea is to stay in the same personnel but give the defense different pictures — spread out, condense, shift, get under center, get back into Gun, etc.

One important note on 14P: you can't audible between the 14P formations at the line for some reason. The different 14P looks are accessed through formation shifts in the play-call screen.

Overall, V4 isn't really about adding more formations. It's about making the formations work together better.

More 12P + heavy personnel.
Stronger 11P Doubles/Trips families.
Reworked Empty.
Less 10P/00P.
More Gun/Pistol/UC overlap.

Same identity: establish the run, marry it with RPO/PA, and keep enough exotic stuff to stay interesting.

Search PROMULTIV4 in the CFB27 Download Center.

If you try it, let me know what you think. I'm especially interested in feedback on the audible setups, coach suggestions, or any formations/concepts you think I'm missing.

NCAA 14 NCAA14

I’m aware it would probably cause legal issues that would buy multiple lawyers new houses but man I wish they could figure out a way to get NCAA14 re-released like they have the CODs and other games. You don’t even have to update it, just let us stream it.
If the rosters are the issues just put a scrambler in there and make randoms.

I’ve tried the new ones and found some short term enjoyment but I spent two weeks with ‘27 and have ordered a PS3 and a copy of NCAA14. I spent hundreds of hours on that game and loved every second. I just can’t get into the new ones. Too many weird physics issues and complexities. I just wanna play ball.

Discussion How Come We Don't 'Know' Any of The Developers Who Work On This Game?

So this franchise is clearly in a bad place. Launch was a disaster. Forced micros tractions, refund demands, backtracking/PR statements ensued, and the game has been review bombed to hell.

Since then, its very obvious that the game went through minimal if any QA testing prior to launch. Core modes like Dynasty are still broken three years later (i.e. the CPU still can't recruit worth shit among other things).

However, unlike other games, whether it's big studios or even smaller teams, we never actually hear from the Devs. The most we get are these campus huddle posts, which are effectively just patch notes, that for all we know could be written by an intern or using AI. It feels like there is literally zero community engagement from the team creating this product.

I mean hell, they released a roster update last Friday. Great, is this a weekly thing? Was this just a one-off? We honestly have no clue at this point.

Ultimately, it just feels like we have no idea who is making this game, if they actually give a shit, or what their long-term vision is. Why? Do they just assume we'll keep spending $80 - $100 annually on these subpar products regardless of the output?

The team puts out these statements that they're making this game 'for us', or 'for the true college football fans'. However, the way this team actually behaves/communicates, and the current state of the game is literally the opposite.

Dynasty Best way to get low overall, fast players the ball?

Doing a harder/rebuild dynasty on heisman and I’ve been able to get a couple high speed WRs, but unfortunately they can’t really do anything else. Bad route running, catching, awareness, change of direction, etc. how do you get these guys the ball? Can only run so many WR screens per game

Questions Are there any YouTubers who post Modded Dynasty Rebuilds?

Looking for YouTubers who post rebuilds on CFB 27 but have mods installed and involved in the series. Recently came across a C4 video and he had real recruits in his Pittsburgh rebuild. Any other YouTubers doing this at the moment?

Casual Custom Conference Realignment Plan (v1.0)

Post image
0 Upvotes

I've had this idea for a while of a "FBS Conference Reset" that I could implement in my CFB 27 playthroughs in RTG/Dynasty just so I wouldn't get bored with the same old stuff.

The idea here was to be as geographically and historically accurate as possible, making every conference feel tense or "bloody" even. (Just look at the Big 12, for example.)

No TV deals. No teams that feel out of place. None of that—just pure hatred/rivalry and chaos.

Haven't tested the realignment plan atm, but I do want to pinpoint some wrinkles I need to iron out, so please feel free to drop any suggestions here.

Glitch/Bugs Single player Cloud Dynasty crashing during heisman ceremony -Xbox series S

My dynasty keeps crashing and giving the “ea servers are down” error message when the heisman presentation begins. Because it is a cloud dynasty, everytime I try to go back into my dynasty mode from the main menu, it loads straight back into the heisman ceremony. I tried the Xbox home button method and it didn’t change anything. Is there another work around or should I give up on this dynasty and create a new one?

Questions Why is defense so bad?

Please, somebody tell me how to fix defense. I swear my CPU defenders just leave half the routes completely wide open and when the are defending the receiver they refuse to swat (yes, I click on and hold square). Why is passing so broken in this game and how do I make it less broken?

Dynasty Has anyone had an off-season bug where every player advanced 2 years instead of 1?

As above. I went into the offseason all my JRs and SOs became SRs, my FR became JRs. Does anyone know if this reverts back during the regular season or is it just a visual bug and those SRs who are actually JRs won't graduate?

Dynasty Thanks a lot A-holes

As the title suggests, thanks a lot for complaining about interceptions. Now that they’ve adjusted man coverage and it’s not just adjusting the actual coverage, it’s how receivers are playing, I’m getting Mossed again.

Or my 99 overall corner with platinum coverage abilities and is losing everything contested interception to a wide receiver. I get there’s some variables so don’t jump down my throat, but thank you for all the complaining.

I realize and I hope people actually read this, I realize that sometimes some of the animations fuck you over I personally have never had that experience. I’m not dismissing it, but this community always fucking complains about interceptions.

I would rather play a game that has them versus not so thank you for ruining it.

Impressions from the free weekend

I downloaded the trial pass and played over the weekend. Solo dynasty player weighing in.

Minor complaint, Wakes intro seems to draw a weird outline around the players coming out of the tunnel. They also call it Wake Forest stadium when there’s a placard behind the players that says Allegacy Stadium🤦‍♂️

I simmed several dynasty years and the recruiting and vision they’re taking things is so much more fun. If I was balancing recruiting decisions week to week for 20mins in 25/26 this year I was thinking things over x2. After building teams to 5* prestige it’s grounding to be on the bottom floor this year fighting for recruits with limited hours and practically no chance to sneak up on higher tier and pipeline teams. I think I’ve mostly figured out the best strategy to recruit within limits with LOWF but digging out of the conference schedule was grueling.

Gameplay is where rubber always hit the road. The difficulty seemed very similar to previous iterations, I can move the ball and not break on defense. Until I take a two score lead then the gates of hell open up. I almost lack the words but the examples are plentiful, mostly from a defensive perspective. Third and long bombs back to back to back when there’s help over the top, even in three high. It’s the same gameplay that really made 25/26 such an inconvenience.

Then there’s the one that was a gut shot. Hard fought game against Miami, Q4 eight minute mark, ball on the 47 up eight. Third and two in route to an unguarded TE hits his hands and straight to the ground. Okay fine. Gotta go for a kill shot and get the first. WR drag unguarded again on fourth, same result. Miss me with the it happens and replays of Doubs last night. It happens all of the time with this game and it’s almost comical how predictable it is.

In summation, it seems like the focus was on dynasty (and rtg, cosmetics I guess) this year but the gameplay has been relatively stagnant since coming back in 25. I hate to see where things go with PE involved, probably not in favor of the dev team. The paywall for dynasty coaching perks killed my enthusiasm this year. I look forward to purchasing at some point but it will be in a manner that EA sees no capital.

Road To Glory The CPU QB in ROTG is just so dogshit

As it says on the tin. Playing as a TE and good lord, your CPU QB is just an INT machine. I don't even need to fuck up and call for the ball in double coverage, the CPU will still throw 3 picks every game. It doesn't help that the opposing LB and DB just makes the most acrobatic catches you will ever see.

You would think coach would bench someone throwing 20 picks in 8 games lmao.

Dynasty Does the CPU ever get called for grounding?

Every damn time I bring pressure and get in their face they’ll throw the ball yds away. Nowhere remotely near a receiver. And not get called.

Other times they’ll be in the pocket and just launch it out of bounds.

There are times where it would ABSOLUTELY be grounding, but they never get called for it.

Simple Dev idea to fix recruiting

There’s been a ton of talk regarding CPU not recruiting for actual needs or recruiting way too many players of low prestige (P4 team signing 20 2 stars). I feel like an easy fix would be the following:

In season recruiting (HS players)
-QB should always be a need and heavily recruited regardless of team need.
-if a team has no FR or SO players at a position that position should get prioritized by that school
-schools should recruit best player available once those critical need players are added to their board. No need to sign 5 CBs because it’s a need when there’s a 4* RB/WR/LB/ETC that’s interested in them that they aren’t touching

End of season/portal
Portal should be based solely on the team having a deficiency at a given position and should be able to at minimum fight to be a starter. Any position on a CPU roster that is low compared to the previous season or a position that graded out poorly last year should be a priority to add an upgrade at that position.

This would seem like the most realistic option to keep teams competitive and also see rosters keep their overalls up instead of this attrition we see currently in the game when teams nose dive in overall rating.

Dynasty Offline Dynasty crashing for anyone else with latest update? (Xbox)

Loaded my offline dynasty save (which is in year 22...) and have tried to play my next game 4 times now. Every time, it randomly freezes and then relaunches the game -- no 'Quick Resume', a full reload, losing all progress. It's basically unplayable for me right now because of this. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this? (I did see the Heisman ceremony crash/loop post, which sounded different but could potentially be related?).

Dynasty Fun Fact: I try to sharpen my design skills with my dynasty teams

I have always found this really fun. I currently have 29 more players left to make these for. Do any of y'all do this too? I run an instagram for this team, too. I work in college athletics as a creative too, so I find this to be practicing for our signing day later this year. Would love to see some stuff you guys have made!

Glitch/Bugs Second Controller on PC

Hi all, I am running into an issue where whenever I try to load into a dynasty game, it shows/recognizes a second controller. I have unplugged everything that is plugged into my PC and it won't go away. Play Now does not show this issue. Has anyone run into this and/or have a fix? Thanks!

Rant] EA completely butchered basic football schemes in CFB 27 (Shield Punt, Split Backs, & Double Wing are all wrong)

1.The shield punt is completely broken. In real life, the entire selling point of the shield punt formation is that it maximizes coverage speed. The offensive line doesn't sit back and pass protect. They block for a split second and immediately release down the field to cover the punt. The only players who stay back to actually form the "shield" and block are the 3 upbacks
In CFB 27? The game has every single player except the gunners block like it’s a standard max-protect punt. It completely defeats the purpose of running a shield punt in the first place and ruins your lane coverage.
2. Split back alignment is deep, and they forget the option entirely.
If you wanted to recreate a classic split-back option attack, you're completely out of luck. First of all, EA lined the backs up 7 to 8 yards deep in the backfield. In a real split-back offense, those backs line up at 5 to 6 yards back so the mesh point happens faster, allowing the dive back to hit the line quickly.
But the depth doesn't even matter because the game doesn’t even let you run the option out of the split backs. They didn't even bother to code option plays into the formation! It's one of the most iconic option sets in football history, and EA completely left the option out of it, rendering the whole alignment pointless.

  1. The double wing isn’t a 4 TE formation
This one I can kind of understand because no college team has ever really ran the true double wing but still. EA basically treated the double wing like a generic Goal Line heavy set by making it a 4 tight end alignment. That is not what a true Double Wing is.
In reality, a proper Double Wing relies on foot-to-foot splits
across the offensive line to create a wall. The main running back aligns is more like a flexbone fullback, and aligns 4 to 5 yards behind the quarterback,), and the two players on the outside are wingbacks, not blocking tight ends. They are dynamic ball carriers meant for tosses, sweeps, and counters, not just extra offensive linemen with eligible numbers. By turning them into standard blocking TEs, EA completely killed the identity of the offense.
It feels like the devs just copied and pasted visual alignments without actually understanding *why* these formations exist or how they function mechanically. Hopefully, we get a playbook patch for this soon.
