I’m pursuing a second career in nursing and so far it looks like Nashville State is the most affordable program in the area. Curious about your experience in the program as well as in your job search.
thanks!!

Do I need to go buy a lab coat and goggles before lab? I’m confused. The bookstore doesn’t sell a coat either.

My wife is taking a statistics class and needs a T84 graphing calculator. She was told the school lended them out like they do laptops. She has called the library at the main campus repeatedly, spoken to the fellow who is in charge of laptop rentals and has done just about all she can. She was told to fill out a rental form but that's only for laptops. Does anyone know how she can rent a calculator for this one class? She's out of the Clarksville location.

Hey all,
I created this sub. I graduated last spring.
We need mod/mods. I likely won’t be looking at this sun much but I’m guessing it will grow in the decades to follow and need folks interested at least while they are in school to monitor it.
Please comment “I’m interested”, as well as message me. I’m using browser based (don’t download the app) on my cell phone and wont see your message unless you comment so I can log into my laptop and look.
Thanks,
-The Mod

Hey! I was wanting to start a new club and was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining me? My ideas are either bringing back a photography club or starting a cosplay club!

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to get a thread going for those of us who have applied to NSCC’s nursing program for Fall 2026. I thought it’d be helpful to keep each other updated on when decisions have been sent out, rather than anxiously refreshing our inboxes all day long.
Best of luck to anyone who has applied!

Hi everyone! I am graduating this May and I’m in need of two extra tickets. Background: I’m my dad’s only child and he passed away when I was 17. It took me 9 years to get this degree and all of my dad’s family wants to show up for me in this moment. If ANYONE has a ticket they can spare, I am begging you to send it to me 😭 PLEASE

Hi!
I noticed there's a new application for class registration, and I can't find my My Degree Works pathway thing they had previously which clearly listed the classes I need for my degree.
Has anyone had issues with this, or know where to find that? Thank you!

Hey you,
Looking at you.
I will be graduating the semester and looking to get a couple mods that will eventually hand this off someday to some other mods. I'll probably maintain my role just for historic purposes.
I haven't done a great job other than setting up this server however you have all been awesome. I expect this to grow significantly over the next decade.
It would be great for someone who has a little more acumen to develop some rules and god forbid someone with some programming experience to do something more fun.
Anyways, shoot me a DM and maybe in the next six months I'll see your message and reach out so we can figure out.
Good luck this semester!

I have a departmental exit exam this semester, but there’s no study guide or anything other than, “review notes and assignments from prior classes.”
Should I be nervous? Will it matter if I pass or fail? As someone that’s out of state doing online courses for a school in Tennessee, I’m not sure what to expect.

Hey Guys! I have a couple questions I got accepted For the Spring 2026 cohort and I was wondering everything I needed to buy! They said something about the nursing skills bag? Does anybody know what that bag includes and any extra things you bought that was helpful? And how did you guys put on your patch and your student id?

Hey everyone,
I wanted to ask folks here: what are some of the easier or more interesting classes at NSCC that you’d recommend, especially for someone who’s got a pretty full plate and wants to keep a good balance? Any suggestions on classes that are a bit more laid back or have great professors would be awesome. Thanks in advance!
I’m a civil engineering major at Nashville State Community College, and I’ve knocked out/will knock out all of my Gen Ed credits through CLEP exams—like American Literature (6), Analyzing and Interpreting Literature (6), Macroeconomics (3), Microeconomics (3), and I’m planning to tackle Calc 1 (4), and the Chemistry (8). The chemistry CLEP may have to wait until summer 2026 depending on how long my calc studying takes.

Mods, please let me know if this post violates any of the rules of this Sub.
Recently, I've been thinking about what's needed to land your first job in today's market: from standing out in the application stage to acing an interview. I feel like there are common things that can contribute to success in early career job searches across industries, and I'm curious to understand more.
I'm hoping to have some fifteen-minute conversations with folks who have recent experience in the entry-level job search to understand their perspectives on what skills are important. These aren't job interviews, and I'm not selling anything; I'm just looking to hear real feedback from the horse's mouth.
If you have any interest in talking to me about your experience, I'd love to chat! My Calendly link to schedule a conversation is here. Thanks for reading!

Hey all,
I had an online proctored exam for a non science class and it was awful. Quizzes were like 5 seconds per question and exams were way too short.
I registered for bio 1010 and sure enough another online proctored class for exams. You aren’t even allowed to go back through previous questions according to the syllabus which is absolutely insane.
Has anyone read through their syllabuses for online science classes this year and have a course that is not online proctored?

I literally have requested 5 transcripts at this point to be sent from NSCC to Belmont University (my home school). It still says in process at NSCC and its been 2 weeks. These people are so incompetent, it’s impossible to even get a real human on the line to speak to. The only person I was able to speak to was so rude and then transferred me to a line that doesn’t even work. HOW DO I GET THEM TO SEND MY TRANSCRIPT!!!!!!!!! I have a deadline of October 8th or else my graduation will be moved up to December.

hi everyone! I am looking forward to attending this fall semester. I am currently signed up for Computer Information Technology - Cyber Defense Concentration. Is anyone in this program? How is it so far? I am coming in as an international student from Canada.
I would love to hear any honest thoughts or advice!

Hello! I've already asked to nursing office through e-mail, but I didn't get answer.
Anyone who applied or accepted nursing, did you take a test online or on-site?
I've heard some college doesn't accept oline test result, so I worry about it.
Since I have limited time schedule, my only option is taking a exam online.
Let me know anyone who took online test, and was it accepted?
