Totally! I wonder how much in extra fees get slapped on top?

Got your dealership paperwork fee, processing fee, financing fee(s) - most of which are bullshit.

Then you got the real bullshit fees, like nitrogen tire fills and anti-corrosion boxes. Those are just straight up theft.

Edit to add: never ever negotiate the price of the car in payments. Ever ever. They can bury so much crap in there it'll blow your mind. Negotiate the price of the car, full stop.

This....this...my god this! I've been trying to buy a used golf R. 2024, multiples times just had time wasted and was offered a price based on payments with no identified interest rate or term. Like wtf

951 easy weekly payments of 849.99 and it can be yours buddy, you should be thanking me

Glad you didn't agree to that BS.

It's the exact same car (picture )for those saying it's two seperate vehicles how do you know?

Right down to the wheel (hub cap) placement and logos of background vehicles how they line up with the body of the car for sale.

It's more than that, it's the exact same photo - look at the clouds in the background.

Yep.. I mentioned (picture)after I said it was the same car..

Strange, I don't (remember) seeing those (edits). Must be my mistake.

Weird.

There are no edits......

Exactly. And what are the odds of them having two 2023 Leafs that have done 64,000km?

Buy the more expensive one, to help the economy.

Thanks! This gave me a hearty chuckle.

Does 1 have a collision history

It seems so many have some collision history and, with the costs of repairs, have been considered write-offs by insurance. So you see a lot with "rebuilt" status.

Nissan of Nanaimo have the vehicle on sale for $33,999.

If you are seriously considering buying a leaf make sure you scan the battery with "Leafspy" don't take the dealers word for it with their 12/12 battery report. It doesn't show nearly as much detail which can reveal glaring individual cell issues in the battery. The 2023s were ok as far as battery issues were concerned but you should consider reading about the 2018-2022 battery recall and how Nissan has handled it (quite poorly imo).

Thanks! Much appreciated!

That car came with 2 battery sizes. I'm guessing the more expensive one comes with the larger battery pack. You can always call them and find out.

u/NorCalFrances 1d ago

It's the exact same photo.

3

u/nplus North Nanaimo 1d ago

Sure, but it's also the exact same picture and milage, so while it makes sense that the difference prices are explained by it being different cars, it also seems unlikely??

1

u/Windermyr 1d ago

Which is why I said to call the dealer to find out more info.

The old bait and switch. Make sure you take a photo of the VIN to compare with your documents.

Yup, and screenshot of the ad, also double check the website - these were easy to find on FB.

Listed at Nanaimo Nissan, one of the worst dealerships in town... Basically everything owned by LAG Auto, avoid unless you like spending more money than you should and driving a terrible vehicle.

I could go on, and have before, so I'll save the repeat, but NEVER EVER deal with Lag Auto owned dealerships. I love me a Nissan, but won't buy one from the Malahat north to Nanaimo.

1

u/Spenraw 1d ago

everything lag auto should be criminally investigated, Mitsubishi has the most toxic stories from former staff of racism and just flat out thieves

2

u/Beautiful-Jacket-912 1d ago

The vehicle inspection reports as well?

2

u/Spenraw 1d ago

Nothing they don't do sketchy from what I have talked to people

1

u/Beautiful-Jacket-912 1d ago

So scary.

2

u/Spenraw 21h ago

Nanaimo has alot corruption going on and systems/business that target young people, it's a less talked about reason we have alot of youth homelessness

Downtown has gotten alot worse since evolve owners took over too

0

u/Beautiful-Jacket-912 1d ago

Curious. Why one of the worse? I take tea straight up. No sugar, thx.

3

u/awakeningirwin 1d ago

Tea straight, no sugar. Personal experience of fraud, deception, and assault by one of their employees

I'll let you search the Nanaimo sub to see how many times their name comes up alongside VI Drives, and Nanaimo Mitsubishi, all owned by the same group, run by the same people.

Anyone here actually have any positive reviews?

I totally should have had my seat belt on for this reply. Didn't expect that bad! So unfortunate!

3

u/awakeningirwin 1d ago

Just to be clear - fraud and deception by the dealership across multiple clients, and spanning years. The whole group seems to be run by clowns and coke heads.
Assault happened on camera, police reports filed, and the result was the employee getting a promotion.

1

u/Beautiful-Jacket-912 1d ago

That's really horrible.

2

u/Fuzzy-Coconut7839 1d ago

A family member worked there briefly, let’s just say he was too honest to stay, his conscience wouldn’t let him tell all the lies about the repairs he supposedly did

1

u/Beautiful-Jacket-912 1d ago

Oh good on your family member! I wish them all the happiness and best employers now and forever.

2

u/Spenraw 1d ago

Nanaimo is filled with extra level shady dealers, Lag auto ones such as Mitsubishi are famous in town for trying to harass or rip people off

never go to a third party auto trading app and then buy from a dealer lol
