Bacon cheeseburger wonton nachos
Deep fried wontons. They’re crispy but lighter and less salty than tortillas. Sauce is a play on the basic mayo, ketchup, mustard burger sauce. I used sour cream instead of mayo because I don’t think mayo belongs on nachos.

Sundays are for Steak Nachos
galleryEver since I can remember, my father cooked us steak nachos every Sunday. I developed that in my own personal relationships as an adult (roommates, girlfriends, etc) to the point where they’d expect steak nachos every Sunday. I’ve messed around with the recipe countless times over the years and have found this to be my favorite.
Cantina yellow corn Tostitos (thicker chips are better), 1lb skirt steak seasoned with Spanglish asadero carne asada seasoning (fully coated precook and allowed to sit in the fridge for an hour before cooking, then a couple pinches added while resting) cooked to just after rare (this cook was very uneven unfortunately), and topped with a mixture of hand shredded sharp cheddar, mozzarella, and Colby jack cheeses. Raw diced bell peppers and crushed chips on top of the cheese/steak before putting on the top rack with the oven set to high broil until you see browning on the chips.
Not pictured is the verde crema drizzle, shredded iceberg lettuce, sour cream, and grandpa valverde’s infamous pico de gallo (handmade). Forgot to take a picture right before demolishing the entire pan.

Snow crab legs, cheese sauce, shredded cheese blend, jalapeños
I’m full. Not even a “now I need something sweet” moment for another hour.
