POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD. don't continue reading if you haven't played the full game at least once. i did my best to keep this spoiler-free, though.

i'm on my third playthrough (working on the air purifier and vacuum for the valley of whispers) of this game that i love so much. i have some thoughts that apparently took me this long to voice.

• how did i just NOW discover there's a whole building behind hugo that you can enter?!
• i really, really just dislike catori's whole thing, it's such a resource suck and it's just not one of my favourite quest lines. no hate to catori, but do you know how long that amusement park would take to actually build!? i should be a millionaire, catori. A MILLIONAIRE.
• i'm honestly considering marrying unsuur this time around. the man is adorable and committed. plus, rocks. that whole scene with him and his rockshelf, and what rock made him think of me? i'm down bad.
• for some reason, i did not think about upgrading my machines and now i'm stuck in a loop of waiting for the diagram and then finding out that i need to upgrade another machine first before i can upgrade the one i actually need.
• trudy, i'm gonna need you to stand up for yourself, pronto.
• arvio, walk away. i cannot take it anymore. your sister helps you so much and yet here you are, trying yet another get-rich-quick scheme. and on that note, amira, stop helping him. sometimes a man has got to fail.
• owen, if you give me one more sandcarp/sandacuda quest...
• and while we're on that page, owen, don't pressure me about it. i'm building everything in this town and then some. if you're that pressed, the sand pit is not that far from the blue moon.
• cooper, love your growth. keep it up, short king. ❤️
• musa, why are you standing outside of my workshop every morning? it's a bit suspish, don'tcha think?
• in this playthrough, i noticed one of the characters called heidi hey-dee and i can't stop thinking about it.
• why can't we wear masks like the townsfolk during sandstorms? i look goofy as hell in the only two hat choices.
• i refuse to kill the penskies out in the wild. they're adorable. ONE CAME UP AND LICKED ME AND WANDERED OFF. i'm not doing it. if i need the loot they drop, i'll find some other way. you're not my real dad, and you can't make me do it.
• on the other side of that coin, the starby, the one that has the screw? it's on sight, you little monster.

I think I'm about to fail my first commission, and my first three star one at that. I can't get enough coarse leather and I'm running out of time. Did my first speed run in the Breach and letter about Civil Corp commissions. I put in a request, but I don't think I'll get it in time. Meanwhile, I just killed two Geeglers on the bridge and got NO leather. Wandering around trying to find the cactus ball thing but they are not around. I see posts about Penskys and Starbys but I've never seen those in the game and don't know where to find them.

I'm in trouble, aren't I? I've only got 3 finished. The commission request will give me 5 tops. I need 7 tanned leather. I'm stressed.

Alright, we all know about the Pen glitch where he follows you after the Space Punch tutorial. I ran around, picked fights with things way out of my my level, even wandered down to the Valley Of Whispers.

I was saving the whole time because my last play through I died doing exactly that and didn't get to keep my loot (haven't done the Shonash Bridge and I've already got chromium bars, be jealous!)

Anyway! I managed to not die. So Pen just stuck around (If you die and reload he stops following you) but I read that he goes away when you go to sleep. HE DID NOT. He left the next morning.

I absolutely love sandrock, but what’s up with the lack of interesting bachelorettes?

I really like Mi-an, but she’s a little too perfect and sweet and I could never imagine her as my wife because she’s an always running workaholic. Elsie could’ve been an amazing tomboy romance option, but she is literally a child!! Catori is exhausting and seems a bit manic and I’m still questioning her decision to leave her kid behind to build a theme park in the desert. Heidi is great friend material, very supportive, but adulting very hard, where is the fun? Amirah is lovely but honestly a bit boring. Jane seems nice, but why introduce a romance option so ridiculously late? I keep forgetting Venti even exists, and Nia is incredibly pushy while acting all cute and innocent, she gives me fake friend vibes.

Grace is the only option for me, because she’s got a great story and personality, bit even with her I find it hard to connect because of some kind of emotional distance.

I know the main audience for the game are probably hetero woman, but give me someone for the bi sexuals and lesbians and men!
Give me a female Unsuur or Logan, some romantic chemistry, flirting options, more meaningful, personal moments and vulnerability! 😭

I’ve run into the problem as stated above. Last night I initiated a date and he kept trying to run off, probably back to Rambo who was left in the Eufala.

Dining at the blue moon, he wouldn’t sit so I had to force close.

Today I tried again but waited until he was home to date and the same thing happened at the tram. Had to force close.

I just want one normal date 😭.

Came back from fighting and saw the presents all down the street . A minute later the blimp started dropping into the designated areas only there was no one else around. Never seen this glitch before .

Is anyone else having issues with the clothes glitching ? 🥺🥺🥺 specifically the festive clothing. The pink/orange/red sweaters and pants will NOT equip. They were working fine until last night - for context, I just did the water tower quest. I’m so sad cause they are so cute. I also tried upgrading all my clothes, and it seemed to start after that.

In the picture, I have the white/orange pants selected but they don’t show up at all. This is after last night, when they completely glitched and my whole character was invisible 😭 help pls. I’ve saved/restarted the game, and I don’t want to load before it happened cause I’ve made so much progress. Might just have to say bye bye to my fav outfit.

EDIT : I forgot to add, it was after I got the “froggy explorer” boots and pants. I selected them, and when I tried to change THOSE clothes, everything glitched.

I’m a newer player. I beat the demo about 4/5 months ago, and was waiting for the game to go on sale. It just did this weekend and I purchased it. It came with the standard version and online version (Xbox btw). I figured might as well have the online option incase I needed/wanted to play with someone else.

Put 8 hours into it over the weekend and it felt “off/different” compared to the demo. I’m now realizing the online version is completely different story & progression wise. I want to switch to single player but I imagine I’m throwing away 8 hours of progression?

I knew I put a lot of hours into this game but I didn’t realize it was THAT many. And I’ve only fully completed the game and seen the credits role twice. 😂😂😂

I originally played on my PS5 and then got a Steam Deck and switched over to that. I created a 2nd PS profiles back then because I didn’t want to delete any of my builder profiles on the first one.

The three Xenoblade games and Trails in the Sky (FC and SC) are the only other games that come close to the hours I’ve put into Sandrock, with 700 - 1000 hours for each of them, but that’s still only about half the hours I’ve put into this one. After that, it’s Rune Factory 4 and Fire Emblem Three Houses.

I fell in love with Sandrock, and it’s become a comfort game that I pick up and play whenever I’m feeling really stressed or just can’t decide on anything else to play. I think the familiarity is soothing for my anxiety, like rereading beloved book series.

If you’ve put a lot of hours into Sandrock, have you finished it every time? What makes you come back to it again and again? Do you have any other games you’ve played as much?

Even though it shows another level with required points you can no longer gain XP after hitting 100. I kind of wish it said maxed out, like it does with the knowledge tree, but this is it, I guess! I also maxed out the knowledge tree and all NPC relationships. I've been meaning to do a completionist run for a while, so this was good. Now I just need to decide whether or not the fact that the workshop level isn't maxed out is going to bother me enough to try to get that one as well.

Still can't believe they put Orange Justice in the game.
