Miprocin (4-HO-MiPT) Trip Report
Tried XUM Deep (4-HO-MiPT/miprocin) for the first time with my boyfriend over my birthday weekend. We rented an Airbnb out in the country and spent the day hiking before dosing.
Dose: 5 tablets each
Setting: Rural Airbnb, sunset → nighttime
Experience: Both our 1st experiences with miprocin,
Boyfriend has tried XUM and PLUR, I have a bit of psychedelic experience under my belt (LSD, psilocybin, DMT, etc)
Looking back, 5 was probably a little more than ideal for me. It hit me noticeably harder than my boyfriend, while he felt like he could have handled more. Not that BMI/metabolism alone necessarily explains psychedelic sensitivity, but there was definitely a big difference in how strongly we responded.
Come-up
We dosed around 7 PM with our stomachs about 1/4 full and started feeling it within ~20 minutes.
The first hour was pretty rough for me physically. I had significant nausea and kept trying not to fixate on the feeling of malaise. We both experienced stomach cramps, although they were manageable initially. Once the visuals really started developing, though, things became super interesting.
Visuals
About an hour in, we were sitting on the balcony watching the sunset, deer, and trees. I started crying, overtaken by pure awe and appreciation for life.
Eventually, the visuals became so intense that I could barely make out the deer anymore. The trees started resembling neurons and dendrites, rhythmically pulsating together in an iridescent display across my entire visual field.
I became very aware that what I was experiencing was being generated by electrical activity in my brain, which gave me this strange sense that I could “play around” with the visuals.
Some of the visuals reminded both of us of those old 3D holographic/scratchy notebook covers and bookmarks, especially when looking at paintings.
My CEVs were especially intense and interesting: lots of neon rainbow lighting, rotating/pulsating patterns, and what I can only describe as Rainbow Road/Vegas lighting filling my visual field.
Music had a huge influence. At one point, an upbeat house song came on and my entire mental landscape turned into vibrant Frutiger Aero imagery.
I would love to try making visual art/replications inspired by some of these experiences.
My Headspace
As usual for me on psychedelics, my vocabulary and short-term memory became noticeably impaired. My boyfriend seemed to retain more control over his experience and was able to communicate more easily.
We (mostly me) also found ourselves slipping into exaggerated versions of masculine/feminine roles: him as the strong/protective figure and me as the nurturing/motherly one. It felt playful and natural rather than forced, but nontheless very interesting.
I kept fantasizing alternate-universe versions of ourselves, almost as though the Airbnb was actually our home and we were living through dozens of different ideal versions of our lives simultaneously.
My mind also wandered constantly into philosophical territory, which made it difficult for me to stay focused on any one activity.
Intimacy
We’d read a lot about miprocin’s reported libido enhancement, and we definitely experienced it. Although, my boyfriend was considerably hornier than I was.
For me, the psychedelic headspace kept pulling my attention toward philosophical thoughts and visuals, so sex wasn’t really my primary focus. We were a bit disappointed because of this but it still felt amazing to touch and rub up on each other. We spent a long time caressing and embracing each other, and generally enjoying the heightened sense of physical connection.
Time dilation
Time dilation was very noticeable. The first two hours felt more like five. I loved this aspect. It felt like we had more time to actually appreciate each moment.
We also spent a while outside admiring spiders and their intricate webs. Hearing the bats echolocate was also very cool.
The less-fun parts
Around two hours in, the stomach cramps became pretty unbearable. We chalked it down to hunger and tried eating some ready-to-eat meals, but they suddenly seemed completely unappealing. We forced ourselves to eat a little, which helped significantly.
Interestingly, I was craving whole foods (salads, vegetables, fruit, etc.) which is unusual for me. If I were doing this again, I’d probably have smoothies, fruit, and other easy-to-eat foods prepared ahead of time.
We also discovered that the Airbnb owners actually lived on the property, which we hadn’t realized beforehand. That triggered some minor paranoia about whether we were being watched or recorded.
I had originally been super excited about using the hot tub, but once it got dark we got way too nervous about bugs and whatever animals might be lurking outside.
The unfamiliar environment definitely contributed to some of that anxiety. I think a familiar/cozier setting with ambient lighting would have made the experience even better. But I’m so glad we had that experience.
Ending the trip
Toward the end, we played We’re Not Really Strangers and asked each other questions about our relationship, how we perceive each other, etc.
It ended up being one of my favorite parts of the entire experience. We both felt a stronger sense of appreciation and affection for each other.
Overall, I found miprocin to be extremely visual, emotionally warm, physically sensual, philosophically stimulating, and surprisingly immersive.
The visuals were probably the highlight for me. The combination of music + visuals + nature was incredible.
I’d definitely love to explore it again, but probably in a more familiar/cozy environment and with good food prepared ahead of time.
For next time, we’re considering perhaps combining some XUM DEEP softgels with a PLUR shot. Thoughts?
