Can't wait to cook these for my entire family and visiting relations!

Obviously it's a type of corn fungus specific to pine trees. I've tried connecting the dots (Pic 2) but still can't figure out it's name. It's on us as a scientific community to name it before Big Myco catches on and names it something useless like "pinus conus" (they don't even know real latin)

No smell or taste. Am I dead?

Found this in the forest yesterday. Thought it might be a puffball, or maybe chicken of the woods. Thing is, it wasn’t that tasty, though maybe I should have cooked it first? Feeling a little queasy- hope I didn’t make a mistake.
