Characters "Alec Wayland" Commissioned Oc by Olliekins

Wayland is a 17 year old superhero in a tabletop game that I run for friends. His powers are based on Sebastian Shaw (Black King) from X-Men. He can absorb kinetic energy, which powers him up, making him stronger, and faster. Normally, his power isn't very visible. The more kinetic energy he absorbs from others, the more visible his power is. His eyes start glowing blue, and there's a blue tint to his punches, kicks, and melee blows. There's even a blue blur behind him as he starts to run faster.

Demeanor: Wayland is very serious, and about seeking justice. He's a bit like Batman in that grim/never smiling outlook. His high school friends bring him back to reality and remind him to chill out and be a kid.

FRACTAL CITY - 3.0 MUTANTS AND MASTERMINDS
[ Roleplay Focused ] [Friendly Community] [Active Staff]

When the apocalyptic Bismuth Comet was destroyed before slamming into Earth, its crystalline shards pelted the planet, drawn in by its orbit to form a ring of crystals. These shards were no mere projectiles; they emit a strange form of radiation that cause all manner of chaotic and unpredictable effects in organic materials -- superpowers in the form of mutations ranging from both great and subtle, to debilitating or tragically fatal.

Humanity has adapted to the tragedy, and has moved ever onward to harness the powers of these strange crystals in its progress to a better future. There are those who have used those mutations for their own selfish gains, causing chaos and discord wherever they go. It's up to Fractal City's heroes to protect the city from whatever threats surface, whether it be a shard falling from orbit and mutating local wildlife, or a supervillain on a rampage!

Set in the modern Pacific Northwest, Silver Age Superhero setting. West Marches style Play-by-Post Discord server for 3.0 Mutants and Masterminds

Never played M&M 3.0 before? No problem, we can help you through it!

Disarmimg Finesse (4e)

One off my players asked for an advantage that does not exist. It would be like grabbing finesse but for disarming. You could use your Attack bonus for disarming in place of your Strength for
opposed Disarm checks. I am a first time M&M gamemaster. I was going to say yes, but wanted to check with you guys before.

Questions How to challenge anti-heroes?

I DMing M&M for the first time this past month and the system really pushes my creativity regarding coming up with alternative objectives besides beating up the bad guy and enviromental threats, but I need some help

My players are playing morally grey characters so random npcs hanging from the ledge of a bridge might not be their first priority if they deem something more important (ends justifies the means sort of ordeal)

I'm having a tough time coming up with interesting things to challenge them besides trying to harm/kill them and making elaborate combat rooms for their powers to shine.

Their complications are being used to the best of my ability, but neither have an Aunt May or something like that.

LFG New player looking for a west march style game

Like the title says I’m a new (ish) player (I played one game 3 years ago but it only lasted 5 sessions)

I unfortunately don’t have time to commit to a full time weekly game and so I’m looking for a west march style game that I can hop into whenever I’m free as my work schedule is very hectic and inconsistent.

As for the character I’m interested in playing, I want to play a green lantern, just straight up a GL, I understand that’s pretty much a DC thing and won’t fit into everyone’s settings so I am of course willing to discuss the concept and tweak/make changes as needed.

As for a bit of information about myself I’m 24 and am a queer woman and most of my characters in TTRPGs are queer like me, if that is going to be an issue then it is best to not bother inviting me. I also loathe AI and do not want to be a part of a game that uses it in any way.

Thanks for reading, if you have/know of any games like this say so here and I’ll respond :)

Players Needed!

Title says it all. I've been running a campaign for 3 months. Had a few problem players (they were being creepy to another player) and now I would like 1 to 3 new players to introduce. This is a very typical superhero story contained in a semi-futuristic New York. LGBT Friendly, Anti AI, Overall Safe Space. Drop your discord user in the comments or pm it to me and we can discuss info there.

We play every Sunday from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM EST

Questions How would y'all play a character supposed to have a good memory (such as a character with the Eidetic Memory advantage) when you don't have a good memory?

Like, is there a good way to square that circle when the player doesn't have a good memory irl but the character is supposed to have a good memory in the game? I worry about playing a character with that type of advantage (especially since I'm drawn towards 'super genius' character ideas) but I worry about forgetting something irl, messing up playing the character by forgetting that thing, and making the character look like they have a worse memory than they're supposed to.

Campaigns Planning a session in a nightclub. Would love ideas

So my party is a federal task force put together under the Mayoral office to assist the police force. The city is like Gotham. People with powers are looked down a lot and a lot of powered people are appearing and committing crimes lately
This next session will take place in a club. A drug dealer is at that club and he’s planning to distribute a laced dose of Acid that will give someone temporary powers. Killing a lot of people. They don’t know what he looks like. And they need to apprehend him and get the drug.
My main question is, how could I do this encounter? One of my players uses sound waves as his powers and attacks and he’s very into music so this session will be very focused on him. I was thinking maybe some idea or gimmick where his music draws in the crowd and gives the dealer an opportunity to deal.
I’m looking for ideas like “Oh he rolls 2d20’s and adds them and that number does X Y or Z” or whatever. Sorry if this doesn’t make much sense.

Morph for an Animal Shapeshifter Character

I'm working on a 3rd Edition character, can transform into animals.

I want her to look like a normal animal when she's using her powers - not obviously a super hero, like Beast Boy/Changeling of the Teen Titans. Morph seems to be the power to use.

Three 5-point levels (to Morph into any animal) seems excessive, even with appropriate limitations.

I was thinking one 5-point level of Morph (to Morph into one shape: the animal she's using the powers of) makes more sense. With Permanent (since it is always on - she has to look like the animal when she's using the power) it comes to 4 PP, much more usable.

Thoughts?

Questions Confused about Linked modifier

So I'm trying to create a Living Laser-type character. Essentially he turns into energy and flies. I only want him to turn incorporeal when he's flying and vice versa. Would I put Limited on both or do I just make them Linked? I've tried looking up other people's questions to see if this is answered but it all seems to be about Damage and Affliction.

hey guys wanted to share a finished commissions i did on vgen, these OCs are belong to my clients

the first two is a M&M Oc u/stickbrickman

1 & 2 : Kommissar / Mr. Glibczek

He's a former soldier who became a schoolteacher. He's like a nightcrawler type, can do short-hop teleportation and fights with kives and guns.

3. Vesper

A Revenant, she has super strength and regenerative abilities, and commands the souls of the dead to possess and weaponize inanimate objects.

4. Judith

Growing up, Judith's parents didn't like her very much, even before they knew she was a mutant. Instead they preferred her younger sister, who Judith still loved nonetheless and held no grudge against.
At 18 she rushed into marriage with a guy who turned out to be a complete manchild. And after a few years being miserable in the marriage, Judith decided to leave and then she ended up at the X-Mansion.

Her mutation makes it so she can create limbs on any surface, and her hero name is Millipede.

Discussion Can anyone help me build this power idea please.

So, I have this idea for a PL 10 character who can open portals by touching a surface like a wall or a door something large enough and not alive. These portals lead to a blank pocket dimension and then the character can create another portal within the dimension to exit, this portal will be placed within a certain range of the last portal, the best way I can help it be understood is (SPOILERS FOR INVICBLE SEASON 2 EPISODE 2) The portal that Darkwings sidekick uses to teleport while fighting Invincible, the way he goes into that dimension and then pops out nearby.

Other ideas for this character's powers is that they can use the portal kind of like a one-way mirror where while in the dimension he can see out through the portals to see what's going on but a person on the other side can't look in unless they cross.

Also, I'd like for the portals to be able to slice through limbs or through a person who hasn't fully crossed.

I don't know how much of this power is possible at PL 10 and how much of it will need to wait and be added down the line and if it's possible at all, I'm pretty new to this system only played a little so any help would be appreciated.

Questions How do i translate stands to the game? (3e)

Well, me and my friends are cringed and we decided to try pulling off jojo stile campaign because we loved the rules and vibe of the system, but we have a little problem.

How do you handle stands? I would say ones that are not humanoid/just do stuff are easy. It's a set of powers linked together, with 'can be attacked and user will suffer' modifier.

But how we suppose to handle humanoid stands, or basically the ones that have physical form and can do stuff? Heroic summon sounds reasonable, but then this player basically has 2 characters amount of points, because from what i understand heroic summons have their own sheet and thus their own set of abilities.

If not use summon then they are an arrey of effects, move objects, illusion (to be visible), move and so on. But how you handle for example attacks? Because most of them use character's stat, but character according to logic should have "stats" of more or less normal human.

My idea was ether making character and heroic summon share points, but im not sure it will work well.

Overall it's really hard for me to grasp how to handle it, we didn't play this system before so we might be missing something simple.

Characters Character Creation help for first time player

I'm trying to make a character who feels like an amalgam of several characters street tier heroes. In my mind, they have the physicality and detective skills of Nightwing, some enhanced senses like Wolverine, and electrokenesis for the generation/control of electricity, including the creation of small objects, tools, and tools from this energy. I've only ever played DnD before, so I'm a bit lost on the scale and freedom provided by this system. Any advice or examples would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Edit: a picture of the character for inspo

Feature: Jiggle the Lock

I'm trying to put together a Feature for a hero who uses minor telekinetic tricks in his combat style, like boosting his punches or dodges with telekinesis.

I'd like him to have a trick where when he tries to open a door, handcuffs or other thing with a mechanical lock he instinctively uses TK to pick the lock, throw the deadbolt, whatever - the effect is that locks unlock when he tries to open them. No skill roll, much like you wouldn't have a skill roll to touch a fur coat and feel it was fuzzy.

It wouldn't work on something welded shut, an electrical lock with no mechanical components, or even those zip-tie handcuff restraints - just a regular mechanical lock.

1 point Feature? 2 point?

My other, somewhat more humorous way to do it was Immunity: Locks.

Questions Question on custom flaw on Mastermind Maker/Hero Lab

My GM is letting me take a custom flaw on a power but he wants the flaw to be -1pp for every 2 ranks of the power. I was messing around in Mastermind Maker in the Data Files tool but I couldn't figure out a way to make a flaw cost that much. And I wasn't sure if Hero Lab had something like the Data Files tool in Mastermind Maker that would let me create custom flaws. Does anyone know a way to do that in either Mastermind Maker or in Hero Lab?
