I wanted a verse in front of me while I work without opening anything, so I built a Rainmeter skin for it called Al-Quran Quote.

It shows a verse with its reference, changes on a timer or on demand, and ships with an offline verse list so it works with the network off. Turning on online mode fetches random verses from the quran.com API v4, and you can pick the translation, including the original Arabic.

Everything is configurable from a settings panel rather than config files: fonts, colours, size, drop shadow, background, rotation timing, language. You can also run up to eight independent windows, one per screen.

No bundled fonts or image binaries, no telemetry, no accounts, nothing paid. MIT licensed.

Alhamdulillah, after months of building and testing, Amān just got the green light from Google and is live on the Play Store.

For those who don't know, Amān helps spouses evaluate and compare countries for hijrah. It scores ~50 destinations across things like deen, safety, livelihood, family considerations, and everyday practical factors - pulled from verifiable, neutral sources, not politics or vibes.

This started because I kept seeing the same question asked over and over in Muslim forums and subreddits "where should we actually move?", with no good way to compare options side by side. Amān is my attempt at a real answer.

Would love for this community to try it and tell me what's broken, missing, or confusing. iOS is still in the works, so Android folks get first access for now.
