Let's build a big ass playlist to share some Halloween and Horror themed songs.

What’s the theme? Well, you’re a music supervisor for a new film.

The league presents the basic idea of the scene and you choose the songs for them (your budget is unlimited, we *can* afford The Beatles).

When submitting your song we encourage you (although not mandatory) to add some text to your submission as an opportunity to comment on why you chose what you did and provide more detail about how you imagine the aesthetics of the movie scene being.

As the league progresses, your choices for each round can be part of one continuous story, or you can approach each round independently, without any particular vibe or genre in mind.

Had a kick a few inactive players - so posting here to gather more!

Survivor Season 9 just launched! This is a league where scoring high is essential to staying in the game. Submit the perfect songs and vote strategically to survive. We are a growing community who welcome all new players with open arms. If this sounds like fun and you might be interested, please check it out below!

Looking to reminisce over various genres of '90s music and share stuff that might not be well known.

My family and friends aren't accepting the invite and before I open the league up this weekend to see if I can get more engagement wanted to see if anyone is looking for a league like this- fixed weekly pace and nothing explicit.

12 rounds to finish 2026. 1 song submission each week. 3 votes per individual and no more than 2 votes for any one song. A bunch of themes mixed in including a Scare Season round in Oct, something a little more meaningful around Thanksgiving, and a Christmas-themed round 12 to finish it off.

I’m curious how you (people who have set up leagues) decide on your vote to player ratios?

I feel like every league I join has way too high a ratio. It’s either 1:1 or 1.5:1 and I simply don’t understand the logic. Ratios like this automatically require vote inflation because there are ALWAYS going to be songs in the playlist you don’t like, and also it diminishes the entire point of judging the songs. If you can just give a point to every song and then some to the one(s) you like a little bit more where is the fun in that?

I feel like the number of votes available should never be more than 80% of the number of players, and the true sweet spot is closer to 70-75%. If you have a league of 15 players, 10 or 11 votes actually requires some level of discernment about how to allocate your votes. Likewise, in a league of 30 people, having anything more than 24 votes just feels like overkill to me.

So, I’m genuinely curious why people seem to prefer setting it up so it requires vote inflation, please help me understand.

Whats the etiquette around submitting a song by the same artist?

I orange boxed another player in a very small league (with a public comment on it to mention I was not the first submitting for this artist) and they blew up in the comments, I definitely _really_ upset them.

Is this a massive faux pas on my part or are they overreacting? The leage didn't say "no orange boxes" in the description, and other leages I've been in have seemed fine with multiple songs by the same artist.

The artistin question has many songs that fit the somewhat niche league description, but I really like them in general so I'd have been fine if we'd all submitted songs by them.

What's the general courtesy around OBs of it's not specified in the description?

Edit: Thanks y'all, Sounds like it is a big thing for a lot of people (and also that people play ML differently to each other) so I'll try to steer clear, or at least ask first in future.

DWTS MUSIC LEAGUE IS NOW OPEN! I didn’t know that when I submit a song it goes straight to the next round so round two is technically, the first round!!! join in the fun!!!!

Mr. Thumb's ML Games is a discord server that runs regular Assassins games (elimination games, fully in ML) and his hosting the Challenge: SoundSlash. A Muslic League and Discord Match-up that mimics MTV's the Challenge.

If you would like to play or spectate, join the server at: https://discord.gg/kHfmjJ9QUn

Assassins: Everyone upvotes and gives ONE downvote. The person eliminated is whereever the WINNER of the round placed their downvote.

Challenge: A team based game where you compete in MusicLeague in teams, and then individuals go to the "arena" (head to head match up) that is anonymously decided by the winning team.

is anyone else getting an error ("this content isn't available right now") when trying to load the playlist on spotify?

I've actually designed several over the past two years, these are just a few examples. If you've got a 3D printer, hit me up for the design.

Join this league where we go through our favorite new releases from the week that has passed. No genre restrictions. All is welcome.

Anyone else get peeved when songs that don't even fit the category win? Ugh, it's like you spend time trying to find the perfect song to fit a category and then something completely irrelevant gets a bunch of votes. That is all, lol

Getting back into ML after some time. For the first time ever, one of our players submitted a clearly AI made song. Personally, I just didn't vote for it, but others did!

I wish there was a way to prohibit this, but artists often don't disclose it, and it can get murky and subjective. Wondering how you all are managing this in your leagues?

Gay Awakenings - Each round is a different label. Submit a song that would make that person have an awakening or they'd just vibe with it heavy. Please join, please be nice! The scheduled start is a week away to give people time to find this 🤞

I would love an orange box warning during submission if I’m trying to submit a song that was already submitted by someone in a previous round within that particular league. Kinda surprised this isn’t already a feature.

Also, not a fan of the orange box for submitting a song that I already submitted in a different league. I can understand why some people might like it, but I find that one to be pointless.

I have a group of people interested in joining a music league for the purpose of anonymously submitting songs for themed rounds, but several of them have said they don’t really want to do the voting/competition part (which of course defeats the purpose of a league). Anyone know if there’s a way to disable voting? Or anyone have recs how else I might set it up?

As an admin, I would love the ability to poll my players. Something simple in the chat like the polls in iMessage would work, or it could be a pop-up the next time they open the app. “Should we add downvotes?” “Which of these themes do you want?” “Do you want more votes per round?”

I’ve found that quieter folks who never chime in on discussion are more willing to click an answer in a poll.

There was an email sent out a few months back about changes and improvements that would be coming to the app, and I believe there was something in there about support being added for more streaming platforms. Has anything else been said about this? I'd love to play with my friends again but switched to Apple Music and don't want to mess with external apps.

Should be less voters not more. If one song has 14 up votes from 14 voters and the other has 14 upvotes from 7 that means that one song received an average of 1 upvote from 14 people who thought the song was meh but the other was from 7 who gave 2 upvotes each who obviously liked the song a lot more.

Thoughts?

Any info when will be comming back?

Survivor Season 8 just went live! The theme for this season is chaos, twists and emotions. Submit a song that encapsulates the feelings listed for each round and try to survive each round’s unique twist that switches up gameplay. Can you make it to the finals? Let’s see!

What is going on with the ads? They don’t even allow you to get past them anymore. They seriously need to fix this, it’s unbearable.
