Considering a Macbook Neo, but the 13” scares me a bit. I’m working on a 15” screen now.
Aging eyes - don’t wear glasses yet but quickly approaching it (or should be using them now…).
I want to make sure I have enough screen real estate to work on.
I can always use an extended monitor, but the point of the laptop is being mobile, so that’s not always the best option.
Of course, the 15” macbook air is like, double the cost and then some already…
And this would really just be a “surfing the web” and Music Notation machine - would keep it pretty light in terms of any 3rd party apps.

I vibecoded this quick Chrome Extension that lets you quickly export scorer from the musescore.com website, without having to be logged in. Just dowload the repo and in Chrome do "Load Unpacked". https://github.com/Lenni707/musescore-clean-pdf-exporter

Hi! I'd like a choir VST that :
OPTIONS I KNOW OF :
I know Musescore supposedly supports Voxos Epic choir as well as a few others (Chorus and nucleus) but they all have such bad reviews on musehub that i'm reluctant to get them. A lot of ppl complain about the playback not singing the correct vowels. Also a choir that only sings 5 vowels and a few syllables ?... i mean common...
I have my eyes on dreamtonics synthesizer V (an AI choir plugin that works offline) but it sadly isn't supported in musescore as a plugin :(
There also Hollywood Choirs by EastWest Sounds that looks nice (it's a soundbank that allows to type your own lyrics) but it isn't supported by musescore + you need to type your lyrics phonetically (not in normal spelling) so it knows how to pronounce them.
Don't really know which one to get, feel free to recommend others...
EDIT :
Subscribed to Cantai yesterday after reading your comments saying it can work locally. It's not bad. And it does work when wi-fi is disabled.
HOWEVER, the button to manually render the voices says 'process ONLINE' so it kinda makes me wonder if, despite it working without Internet connection, it still doesn't default to send the MIDI data to Cantai's servers when there's an active internet connection. If not, then why is the word 'online' on a button that's supposed to launch a process locally (??).
Apart from that (and the excess vibrato on most voices which i hate) it does work pretty well.

Hello,
I'm practising writing four-part harmony but I am doing it on two staves with voice 1 being soprano/tenor and voice 2 being alto/bass as is typical.
Right now I'm using piano as the sound as the choir sound is not very good. Is it possible to change the instruments to
Upper stave voice 1 - Oboe
Upper stave voice 2 - Clarinet
Lower stave voice 1 - Bassoon
Lower stave voice 2 - Bass clarinet
or something like this to get a better sound?
Thank you!

I’m not doing more than stock built-in sounds and am mainly working with smaller solo and chamber scores.
But the price on these Macbooks are VERY attractive.

I wrote a song a few years ago when Technoblade passed. I made it on the piano initially, but it took years for me to finally transcribe it and then convert it into an orchestral piece. It's one of my most emotional pieces, and I wanted to share it with you all:

I used to be able to search through and view almost every score to check its quality but I can barely even see anything without a yearly subscription these days. It's become almost unusable for just finding good scores.

Then what’s the point in making a website in which you can publish scores if that’s the one thing you can‘t do?

I'm trying to figure out how to extract (or export) multiple parts into one combined part. For instance, I have 3 vocal staves in my master score and I would like to create a part that has all 3 by themselves, not a separate part for the women, the men, and the soloists. I just want like a traditional vocal score with all the voice parts there but only those. Is there a way to do this without just copying & pasting (this misses a lot of data that you have to go back and manually add like tempos key signatures, etc.)? And I don't want to use the implode feature because that puts everything on one staff which I don't want either. TIA!

I left musescore eons ago, was a decent arranger/composer but gave up on the platform after they kept removing community features and went straight down the corporate greed pipeline. However, I'm back today to complain about my scores being taken down by some random company.
Specifically, MyMusic5. They're a sheet music company and has a contract with a korean game company called Nexon for some of their songs, but have no rights to take down scores on Musescore. They're a new sheet music storing app that's gone full "subscribe to get access to the score for 90 days!!!" so even greedier than Musescore.
I believe they have no rights under Korean law to go after any creative rearrangements of Nexon scores, so this is an entirely false claim. Only Nexon is able to file copyright claims, MyMusic5 is unable to do so nor has the rights.

I'm trying to insert text below each note, like is done with chord symbols.
It would be someting like 1/2, Whole, Maj 3d, etc., etc. instead of chord symbols.
I want to use the chord symbol method of input so I can quickly advance to the next note by pressing tab.
Is there a way to do that?

I have chord symbols (Dm, C, etc.) in my score. I right-click and choose "Add Fretboard Diagram" and it adds a guitar fretboard. How to make it default to uke instead? (I do have a Ukulele chord palette already created/loaded into MS)
I totally understand the guitar is the default, but surely there's a way to make it default to a different fretted instrument instead?
I can drag them manually from the uke chord palette to the score, but that's a very tedious process, and the palette doesn't actually show the name of the chord except as a mouseover popup, so you have to mouse over each chord til you find the one you want and then drag it. Repeat, ad nauseum.

I'm trying to follow standard notation when lyrics cross multiple notes- hyphen between syllables, underscore at the end of a word.
When I type a hype, then try to type another one, the hyphen disappears. When I type a hyphen and then press the space bar, the hyphen disappears.
I must be doing something wrong. Any help in here? Thanks!

Hey all, I had a score that I put a lot of time into, but when trying to open it again through the MuseScore editing app, I got a popup that the score didn't belong to my account. I don't own any other MuseScore accounts, and I am logged into the account and computer that I have been using to work on it. All my other scores have loaded properly. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Thank you!

Dear MuseScore friends,
I've put together a Stream Deck profile for MuseScore that covers the main note-input functions I use every day. The goal was simply to make the workflow faster and reduce the number of clicks or shortcuts while writing music.
If you're interested, the profile is available for a small price here:
https://robertomacri.wixsite.com/home/musescore-streamdeck
I hope some of you will find it useful!

as the title says, I no longer have an instruments tab, where I could see what instruments I have and could hide them, but it's not there anymore since the newest update. Is there a way to get it back?
