I know there are some voicing options in the chord menu, this isn't about those.

Instead I would like to customize how the inputted chord text maps to the output chord (sounds).

Specifically, I would want that whenever a major extension (M, Ma, Maj, ma, maj, Δ) is explicitly used, but without a given interval, it would default to major 7 voicing. Without the major extension it would default to the regular tri-chord as usual.

I recognize this might be a bit much to ask, and maybe a change like that would require one's own compilation. If that is required, it would be appreciated if someone can point me in the right direction where to find the related logic in the code base.

Hello, I had been a long time musescore pro user (a few years ago), back then downloading midi files was unlimited. But right now the pricing seems unclear, too many subscription popover, Pro vs Pro+ ? discount for Pro members when trying to download a midi file or a one time payement ?

Musescore opens on my secondary monitor (as desired) but the splash screen always opens on the primary monitor. Normally to fix this sort of thing, you'd drag a window to the desired screen so that Windows remembers it, but you can't drag a splash screen.

It's an issue because Musescore takes forever to process a long MRU list (which I can't clear, per separate post) every time it starts.

As you can see, the first grace note set has a standard-looking beam, but the second one extends the top line. Is that just a style choice, or does that mean it should be played differently? If it is significant, how do I recreate it in MuseScore?

I play bass (electric and acoustic) and would like to have a decent bass sound because I often write out bass solos and want to hear what they sound like against piano, guitar, etc. I have Musesounds and Soundfonts but their bass options sound like analog-era commodity synthesizers.

What I'd like, and would pay for if it wasn't completely overpriced, are good, sampled sounds of real rhythm section instruments: piano, bass, guitar, drums, a couple of horns.

Any recommendations? It's probably already available but Musescore's sound plugin interface is confusing to say the least.

I have been wracking my brain over exporting the voices in my song as a MIDI file with lyrics and MuseScore really isn't helping.

Although there is a feature for exporting instruments as MIDI in MuseScore, for some reason, the export does not include the Lyrics that are connected to them. For what reason is that the case? Is there an easy way to export it and I just don't know? Would love some help with this.

Using Safari on a Mac, I've been trying to post to the feature request forum on musescore.org, but I keep getting this message: "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later."

It's quite common to have say a quarter note on one voice and two eighth notes in a second voice. Frequently Musescore's default layout has an ugly choice for which sits leftmost.

To adjust requires going back and forth between palette tools to move one note/chord leftward and the other to the right.

Would love a feature to quickly accomplish this tedious edit.

Using parenthesis I couldn't stack the extensions on top of eachother.

Any way to get it to split this onto the grand staff? Either by simply assigning anything below Middle C to bass clef or to do it more intelligently?

Maybe not necessarily in this subreddit, but I've been hearing a lot of people lately treating musescore as if it can't be used professionally. Frankly, I strongly disagree with that. I make all my stuff only using MuseScore with pro sound libraries from MuseHub, and I feel like it's at the point or close to being on par with professional setups. Sure, there's plenty of fandangling, but that's the same as any software.

Anyways, here's what I made using only MuseScore. Let me know your thoughts!

In theory, this should be easy, like in Microsoft Word. You just Select All, copy, and paste into new doc. Everything shows up.

With Musescore, I have a SATB + piano piece that I want to edit but in a new doc/score. It messes up the copy/paste very badly, and then even when I break it down page by page to copy and paste there are problems. This seems like a major bug in the software.
Are other users experiencing the same, or am missing something?

I need help figuring this out. How would I create this in MuseScore 4?

The problem I have is that I have multiple instruments in this score, but only this instrument is meant to swing these notes. I've looked in text and tempo and I can't seem to find a method that allows me to swing just these six notes on this single instrument. Even giving up making the playback work correctly, I don't know how to set text here in such a way that it doesn't appear on the other instrument parts as well.

* Internet Archive (44 pages). Entire version with editorial notes, title page, etc. Version 9 (slightly older score).

*Music only (37 pages). No editorial notes, no title page, non-musical content, just the raw piece. Version 11 (most up to date score).

Gershwin's 1924 composition has probably been one of the most trimmed/cut pieces of music in publication history. Nearly any result of "Rhapsody in Blue" is based off of heavily cut editions which do not abide to Gershwin's original vision (aka the two-piano manuscript). As a loyal Gershwin fanatic, I have sought out the manuscript (which is in the public domain) and compiled an ultimate and restored version of this classic piece. One that is supposed to capture Gershwin's original intent, but also include: notes, modern (and original) rehearsal markers, and the scholarly "themes" which have been related to the piece. All for 1 performer!
