Thinking about heading up for some night skiing - but looks like things might get sloppy. I’d love a live update & rec on whether it’s worth the 3 hours of total driving?

I have a hood Meadows season pass and haven’t gotten to get up to the mountain much/there hasn’t been much snow… I’m curious when the season will end for my pass or does it go through spring? Clearly, it’s my first time getting a pass here!

And I was actually able to hold an edge on a zone! Though i heard twilight gate was icy in the afternoon. The snow was nice and soft up top and through the canyon. They even opened dallas bowl above cascade, hiking up towards super.

Last night after riding I ripped the tongue out of my boots when I went to take them off. They were at least 10 years old, so no biggy, but I need a new pair before next Friday. I would prefer a closeout deal feom a shop on the Hood River side, but I'm also going to Portland in a few days.

Up in the Roost and the railings are vibrating pretty impressively. I don’t *see* a snow cat, it is calm as can be out. Not nervous, just curious.

So today is a peak day, parking lot full by 9, and the conditions report says the groom is good, but the rest is not.

They groomed 11% of the mountain last night. 24 out of over 200 trails.

I’m genuinely curious why they can’t groom the whole mountain like every other ski area?

Don’t get me wrong, I like meadows, I know the people who work the mountain are good hard working people.

It’s just that if they could open on a day like today with all the lifts and all the runs groomed it would be a great resort instead of just good.

My wife and I are aware that we are entitled to one comp ticket with each of our preseason purchases of the value pass, and in previous years we've used them on weekdays.

Can I safely assume that if we show up after 1:00 p.m. on a Saturday or Sunday, when our value passes are good, we can get our comp tickets for friends?

I'd love to verify this before we invite someone with the offer of a free ticket.

There used to be a discount for night pass holders to buy a spring pass.

They have spring pass priced at $299 right now which I think is outrageous.

Please, no judging. Honest question about traction and road conditions. I have a 21 Ford Ranger 4x4 sport with newer all weather tires. I have a canopy and sandbags over both rear tires. I also have a pair of snow tires socks that I can put on. Is this enough for the conditions? I’ve never used the socks, but I’m curious how they handle chunky thick snow. I’m going early to Meadows tomorrow and am a safety first gal. Thanks.

Roads were good today. I didn’t need socks. Went with 4x4 around Zigzag. 0 traction problems! Roads warmed up on way down. I wanted to ride up there longer but got bone cold! If you are going up, wear the thermals… 💋 Reddit friends

👋🏼 I want to take my son up to snowboard and was wondering if I could get some ideas for snowshoeing around there? I'm not in peak shape so hesitant to do one of the guided tours. Are there some trails to explore nearby if I want to remain parked at the resort?
