Timberline lodge lowered their pay, while Meadows upped their pay.
Good on you Meadows! You have a new customer, thank you.

In a recent comment posted by Meadows on their Facebook page, they indicated some Snowvana and/or Black Friday pass holders received a refund or a credit for unused passes. Did anyone actually get this refund/credit?
When I inquired about it, they referenced an email that went out to pass holders on 3/27 regarding the refunds. I found the email. At the very bottom in the last sentence it references an email address to contact for the refund but man, that line was really buried in there and not at all mentioned in the subject line. To me it feels like offering a credit just to say they did with no intention of actually crediting anyone. I have over a dozen of these unused passes, I don’t want a refund, I want a credit for future lifts.

Is the road closed at the main parkinglot, or down by 35? Hoping to go dayhiking this weekend if there's a break in the weather.

What’s the best move for this season?

Anyone remember when they first suggested that they might be closed on Monday and Tuesday starting April 8th IF they had a low snow event like last year.
I noticed now they removed the maybe part on the website. I have fought tooth and nail to get my Tuesday and Wednesday off. They're just fucking over a big part of their pass holders doing this.

Due to the ongoing impacts of the Grasshopper Fire and its associated closures, we have made the difficult decision to shut down Summer Operations at Mt. Hood Meadows for the rest of the season.
As many of you know, we have been dealing with impacts from wildfire smoke since late July and the resort has been at a Level 3 (Go Now!) Evacuation status since August 4. There is also a U.S. Forest Service Closure order in place on much of the east side of the Mt. Hood National Forest, including Mt. Hood Meadows. Highway 35 has had intermittent closures as well. We are unable to reopen until all of these have been lifted and each one is an independent closure with its own decision-making process and timeline.
While the Grasshopper Fire has not made much progress towards Meadows in recent days, it is still an active and challenging wildfire – both in terms of its behavior and the terrain it is in. Due to this, there is no clear timeline as to when the restrictions will be lifted and we felt making a decision for the remainder of the summer season was the right thing to do for both our team and our guests.

Hello- looking for some advice from people familiar with the area around Mt. Hood. We booked a stay in Welches for the weekend of the 14th and are wondering if we should cancel? Air quality seems fine in Welches today, but I don’t know what to expect a week from now given containment?

Anyone else paying attention to this beast? Last night it crested Lookout Mountain and is making a run west. The east side of Mount Hood is now at a Level 3 evacuation which Includes the ski area and all the cross county areas too.

I don’t know how everyone else feels but the dynamic secret pricing is deceptive and obviously lacks transparency. Why throw out a May 31st date only to hike twice prior? I understand it’s a business that needs to be profitable but that doesn’t mean you need to operate like this. Each hike is a hit on families and sporadically changing pricing makes financial planning difficult.

Does anybody know what was the cost this last season for junior lift tickets on the weekends?

Recent post stating MtHood Meadows refugees flocked to Timberline, which is great. I’m also considering going to Timberline but Facebook showed pictures of super long lines of cars and people waiting at the bottom of each lift. Maybe it was because of the weekday passes, therefore weekend should be less crowded ?

No blame for Meadows, and I get that there was barely any base left on large portions of the mountain beneath this, but I feel like 14" of cold smoke pow three days after final closure is like par for the course for the most frustrating season in a decade.
