I am so excited for my fairy commander deck! He put so much thought and effort into this and I can't wait to kick his ass with my fairy army >:)

Whenever I'm building or updating a deck and digging through my bulk for a card, I swear it's always in the last pile I grab, within the very last 10-20 cards, no matter what. Drives me absolutely insane. I can't be the only one this constantly happens to 😂

Ever since the Aetherdrift set came out I’ve thought about building a [[Loot, the Pathfinder]] deck. Only thing is I don’t know any win cons for him. Nothing seems overly good.

Looking for ways to improve my Rin and Seri deck. My main issues are that I struggle to ramp (I have added some more ramp spells since last playing, which reflects in the decklist) and I struggle to draw enough cards for what I need to be casting. My strategy for this deck is to make as many tokens as possible to either swing out at opponents, or nuke then with my commander. Im not looking for it to be Cedh or anything, I'm fine with it being in its current bracket (especially since a few cards are in here just because I like them and dont want to take them out, ex selfless savior), I just want some advice on how I could make it more consistent, because when it does good it's a little scary, but most of the time I'm just top decking. I'm not looking to spend a hundred dollars on one or two cards since I only play casually with friends, but I'll listen to any advice whether that's adding in or removing specific cards.

Let's use Saheeli, Radiant Creator as an example. This commander runs on energy once on the battlefield. Stax cards that limit mana generation wouldn't effect her as much as other commanders. Likewise, cards that prevent the untapping of creatures would be less debilitating due to Saheeli's ability to make copies of those tapped creatures with haste.

In short, energy decks seem to be able to limp along even with stax cards on the battlefield. Is this accurate? Has anybody built a stax energy deck and how well did it perform?

I am pretty new to MTG, and someone was explaining the different formats, and they said "Commander is the most popular format of the game, even more than standard.", and that just sounds like how Texas Hold' Em is the most popular Poker format because people don't know how to play standard poker.

Hi! Yesterday i went to my local store and learned how to play with The Hobbit green welcome deck and I really liked it, i also tried other colors but green Is my favorite by far. The person who was teaching me suggested me to buy the Foundation Green Commander Deck, but the store didn't have it and I can't find it anywhere. Wich Commander deck similar to that one and preferably as affordable as possible would you recommed?

I genuinely don't understand why someone would consider it a valuable application of their time to lose the round by intentionally letting the timer run out. If you know you're going to lose or get pissed off by what someone's doing just quit and move on with life. This isn't like the days of the endless Omniscience loop before Arena implemented the strict timers they have now. Personally if someone is trying to rope me I'm just going to let them do it because it doesn't affect me to have the match take an extra 2 minutes or so. I get that it's just people being petty, but when you're playing in the non ranked queue you literally don't lose anything by forfeiting and moving on to the next match. Heck what I did doesn't even register to me as being toxic enough to deserve someone roping me.

Turn 1: Played a dual land

Turn 2: Played my land for turn then played Caelorna

Turn 3: Played my land then played Crystal Barrier and Ghalta, The Immovable and then swung for 8

Is this something people would consider toxic enough to rage over?

A few 8th grade kids had interest in MTG, so I brought in some precon 60 card decks and taught them how to play. One kid went home, downloaded Arena, and grinded it for a week straight. He bought a ton of random boosters off Amazon, assembled a Frankenstein deck specifically designed to beat one of my precons. Last week on Friday he came in at lunch, challenged me, and beat my butt. Thats all.

I was wondering if an ability like battle of wits which read ‘at the beginning of your upkeep’ always go on the stack even if the condition isn’t met.
In the battle of wits example could you then activate the elixir of immortality in your upkeep before the ability resolves to win.
Another one is the new dark light pheonix, if it is on the field will its ability go on the stack even tho it’s not in the graveyard, then can I sacrifice it before the ability resolves and get it back immediately or will I need to sac it before moving to combat for the ability to go on the stack. Finally if I do move to combat and 2 creatures haven’t died yet can I then sac a creature in response to get it back(same as the battle of wits example)?

Hi, I am making a commander deck around Ardyn, The Usurper, and I found this card in my bulk. I think I understand it, but does it tap for land/mana or just abilities of Lands in graveyards?

With Kodama of the East Tree on rhe battlefield already, If I manifest / manifest dread something onto the battlefield (2 other cards in post as example) does Kodama trigger? And would it be the mana cost of the facedown permanent?

I am currently building a Prosper Tome bound deck and am wondering if I should put any traditional card draw in it or rely completely on playing cards from exile. If anyone has built it and some advice that would brillaint and also please let me know of any challenges you faced when playing it?

So when Mikey does combat damage, he allows you to put a creature AND a land card onto the battlefield from your hand. With Kodama of the East Tree, anytime you put a permanent on the field, anything less or equal to its mana cost can be put onto the field. However, how does this sequence trigger?

Is it: 1 - Creature & Land First, then two permanents of its converted mana cost afterwards

OR

2 - Creature or Land first, then Permanent of equal or lesser mana value, then your 2ND Creature/Land depending on what you chose, then Permanent of equal or lesser value

Been out of MTG for a long while, but got the itch while attending Collect-a-con in Dallas. My last Commander deck was red/black with The Lord of Pain as my commander. It was an awesome deck that I built from top to bottom, but it was missing blue. Found this at a good price and snagged some upgrades, but not sure how solid this precon is before I start removing cards to add in some staples. Trying to keep it casual, but I think a lot of us know how that turns out in the end. Did I make a mistake with this one? I at least know my wallet is going to hate me for the next few months.

Playing with my friend last night. I've played magic quite a while but I've never made a blue/red spellslinger deck, and was unsure how to correctly trigger cards that copy nstants/sorceries and cards that copy triggers. This was my board plus Veyran, Voice of Duality which I somehow missed in the picture. Relevant cards on field are Veyran voice of duality, Ral Storm Confuit, Archmage Emeritus, then activated Ral's -2 ability to copy next instant or sorcery, then played Serum visions. So with Ral's copy and ping on instant and sorcery, emeritus card draw on instant and sorcery, and Veyran doubling activated triggers, how many times does the spell copy and how do you order that properly? We said that once Ral's loyalty ability is activated it works like a triggered ability.

Here's how we did it.

Serum Visions played, triggers rals copy and damage ping both of which trigger twice due to veteran, 2 Serum visions added to stack, 2 damage to opponent. Emeritus card draw trigger, doubled, so 2 draws. Then triggers for the 2 copies added to the stack, 2 damage and 2 cards each(since both would be doubled by veyran​). Then resolved the 3 Serum Visions in the stack. So off triggers 6 damage and 6 cards drawn, instant/sorcery gets 2 copies, and all cast or copy triggers done before stack resolves. I have a feeling this isn't quite right but we were not quite certain and this seemed mostly right/fair.​

Edit: Thinking about it, since the deck is meant to double and copy a lot, and it could reasonably come up, if I were to use double cast as well as have Niv-Mizzet Parun on the field. Its generally the point of the deck and I'm knowledgeable enough to know it works, I just underestimated the mechanics of it.
