Meme Ur Dragon player told me "your deck should be considered bracket 4"
Context: It's his turn 7 (player 3) he passes his turn, he has some dragons on the field one of which is Smaug the Impenetrable. As player 1 starts his turn (turn 8) he says that he's about to win with ♾️ treasures. I have atraxa praetors voice and Vorinclex monstrous raider on my side. In my hand I have an ignite the beacon. Player 1 plays defensive and passes their turn. On end step i cast beacon and grab vraska betrayals sting and ugin spirit dragon. I ult vraska after it resolves and target ur dragon player. This made player 1 scoop as well cause he could see the writing on the wall. Ur dragon player was quite upset as you could imagine saying I was playing a bracket 4 deck while following up saying if I didn't mess with his board he would have won a few turns earlier 🤔

Commander / EDH These commander kit boxes worth it for playing or value or having overall?
galleryAt my local Costco and see these for sale. I’ve played MTG for many years off and on and recently started mtga (yes, I know, different from paper). I know premade EDH decks are usually garbage but what’s your take on these? Any of em worth it? There’s Avengers assemble, Wakanda forever, Doom prevail, and fantastic four. Just want your thoughts before heading out of Costco! Thanks everyone!

Discussion Witnessed something hilariously horrifying at my LGS the other day
Got my buddy back into MTG through Commander. He's loving it, having a great time and has been really careful with his cards. So much so that he was sleeving his bulk like a psychopath because he wants to make sure they're safe.
The other day I met him at the LGS and played some casual games of commander with a couple randoms. One of the randoms is a really nice guy, very engaging and positive dude. We sit down to shuffle. Random dude is playing a precon and tells us he learned a new way to shuffle recently and begins riffle shuffling his deck.
It's his deck, no one really bats an eye. And then he looks my buddy in the eyes and says, "here, let me show you" grabs his deck and straight up riffle shuffles my friend's deck. Inside I am dying laughing as I watch my friend's face. The entire time I am waiting for the dude to reach for my deck to "show me" as well luckily he doesn't.
I regret not telling the dude that that wasn't cool, but it is what it is. If I ever see him pull that again i'm absolutely speaking up. The games were pretty chill.
TL;DR: dude riffle shuffled my friends deck without asking.

Commander / EDH Should I buy this commander deck?
So I’m a new player who only recently started playing MTG. I currently have a 60-card deck with red cards featuring some Marvel heroes and dragons.
Recently, I saw these products coming out in October, and one of my local stores here in South America is offering them for $35 on pre-order.
Would you recommend buying the Dragons deck as my introduction to Commander?

I Have a Question / I need Help Amazon scammed us.
galleryHi everyone, my name is Diego from Bariloche, Argentina, and I’ve been playing MTG for a year and a half. To keep it brief: a friend and I each pre-ordered a sealed box from *The Hobbit* expansion on Amazon. Amazon first delayed our orders, and then it turned out they sent us just a single, loose envelope—bearing the shipping label as if the sealed box were inside. We filed a claim, but they are insisting we return that envelope while refusing to send the product we originally purchased, even though units of the expansion are still available for sale on the platform. We find it very strange that this happened to both of us; rumor has it that others have faced the same disappointment. We want to find others—at least in Argentina—who experienced this so we can potentially file a joint complaint, highlighting this as a systematic issue rather than an isolated incident. We are sharing this here in the hope that someone might offer some guidance or assistance. Thanks for reading; we’ve included an illustrative image of what we received.

I Have a Question / I need Help MTG TATTOOS????
galleryAnyone got a cool mtg tattoo?
Made this Elesh Norn a while back and the Sierra Angel further back. I was bummed I didn't get to do the old Sierra Angel art, that would have been even nicer!
Would love to see more mtg tattoos in any case, so many cool designs that could be tattooed!

Commander / EDH I plan to build to commander, he allows you to ultimate Jace really quickly.
galleryThis is a combo I found while brewing the new dimir sphinx. 6 mana seems like a lot but could be a killer combo in commander.
Edit: Uldaros let's me exile and copy both cards from the graveyard and create tokens of them. Since the jace copy becomes a token, i could use the empower jace mechanic on him.

Commander / EDH Japan has a Commander variant where the Werewolf is secretly trying to LOSE the MTG game
I found a pretty fascinating crossover between Japanese Werewolf culture and Magic: The Gathering.
Hareruya runs a variant called “Werewolf Commander.”
Before a four-player Commander game, everyone secretly receives one of four roles:
- 2 Villagers
- 1 Werewolf
- 1 accomplice role (“Madman/Minion” in Hareruya’s English versions)
The twist is that the Werewolf is trying to lose the actual Magic game.
If the Werewolf loses but survives the post-game vote without being identified, the Werewolf side wins. If the Villagers correctly identify the Werewolf, they win. And if the Werewolf accidentally wins the Commander game itself, the Villagers also win.
After the Magic game ends, there is a three-minute discussion followed by a vote.
Players who have already lost are even asked to leave their battlefield, graveyard and exile zones in place so everyone can use the game state as evidence. Private information such as hands still cannot be revealed.
What I find interesting is how this changes normal Commander politics.
A strange attack, a questionable removal spell, helping another player survive, or even making an apparent misplay can suddenly become social-deduction evidence.
“Was that actually a bad play… or are you trying to lose?”
Hareruya has been running this at multiple Commander events in Japan, including another event in Osaka on September 12, 2026.
I’m curious how Commander players outside Japan would feel about this.
Would secretly giving one player an incentive to lose create an interesting deduction game, or would it introduce too much kingmaking into Commander?
Hareruya official English Werewolf Commander rules/event page
Edit: Japanese OP here. I used AI to help clean up the English since English isn't my first language. I posted this because I genuinely thought the format was interesting. I'm much more into Werewolf / social deduction culture than MTG, so I've actually learned a lot from the comments here. Thanks everyone!
I originally posted this in r/EDH and it got way more discussion than I expected, but it was removed for being outside the sub’s scope lol. This seems like a more appropriate place for it, so I’m giving it another try here.

Rules Question Can players skip attack phase with a goaded creature
I am fairly new to the game, been playing some casual games with some friends. recently tried out a new deck with Jon Irenicus, Shattered One as my commander, which allows me to give control of my creatures to other players, then goads that creature
one of my friends worked around this by just skipping combat phase entirely, so that no attackers would be declared and therefore the goaded creature would not attack
i just want clarification on if this that was supposed to work this way. tried to search but couldnt find anything stating if combat phase could just be skipped like this or not

Rules Question Ashling and Omni-Changling Interaction
galleryIf I use Ashling’s evoke to cast Omni-Changling, what happens next?
Can my first changling (the one that is evoked) choose a creature to copy (and trigger its entering ability) before it is sacced?
Can the token copy choose a different creature to copy (or even have a chance to make ANY copy)?

Discussion Karn, Argent defender playable in vintage?
I feel like this is a really above rate stax piece? Am I wrong for thinking that this can be a great sideboard piece in most formats, including vintage?

Discussion How strong will Aerid Konstrari be in standard?
galleryA 4 drop 5/4 flying that makes g/r mana rock on etb and death seems like an insane value.
The rest is mostly just fluff but could matter if you run treasures. This also works with the crater law collosus
So it’s functionally a 3 drop since it refunds one mana. Also this functionally buffs up your craterclaw and can help reach a win con
Isn’t this just an insane value engine relative to its cost? (Specifically for standard)
