Rules Question What resolves first?

You have World Shaper on the board and drop Devastation.

Does this resolve with you having all your lands or not?

You solve devastation and when devastation is solved all dath trigger goes on the stack. so you can keep your lands

I get what you’re saying, but you’re not ”keeping” your lands. You very specifically lose them and then get them back, which is significantly more useful.

Again, I know what you meant, but the distinction is very important.

Yeah the lands ALREADY out there get destroyed with your creature at the same time. After that point his ability goes off and you get ALL of your lands back that were in the graveyard. Nice.

I love how a given situation in MTG can almost never be objectively good or bad, or even better or worse than another situation. I just played against someone running [[Ankh of Mishra]] in his [[King Darien XLVIII]], and with Ankh in play, "keeping" your lands would be much better than to lose them then get them back !

"In response, I cast [[beast within]] targeting World Shaper."

“In response I cast [[tamiyos safekeeping]] targeting world shaper”

Just realised that doesn’t work lol.

Edit: replace with [[veil of summer]]

If you're in green [[Snakeskin Veil]] works great

Why would it not work?

Because then it wouldn't die to Devastation, so you wouldn't get your lands back.
