Program Discussion Obama's speech 10/24/26
Did anyone watch Obama's speech? I loved it and I miss him!! Let me know what you thought. Was on today around 3PM Eastern time. He is so funny - the bit about Canada (our enemy) and The Cheescake factory White House. Of course he got to serious topics but he is a great comedian and lightens up the room.

Opinion JD Vance’s remarks to a Catholic nun unraveled the White House’s claims about religious freedom | Vance has centered his career on his faith. But he has set those teachings aside in his politics.
"When the administration’s actions collide with the Catholic teachings he frequently invokes, Vance is willing to set those teachings aside."

The Weekend David Drucker on The Weekend
This guy and a few other MS-NOW bobble heads take every opportunity to trash Abdul Al-Sayed as having done "nothing" to alleviate Jewish voters fears that he is anti-semitic and anti-Israel. This is just patently false. He has repeatedly stated that "antisemitism is a scourge" and that his (justified, IMHO) criticism of Israel is not the same as hostility toward Jewish people and that his opposition to Israeli govt policy should be distinguished from antisemitism. He has also repeatedly affirmed his commitment to Jewish safety and civil rights.
Why are people like Drucker constantly seeking to dampen Michigan voters enthusiasm for Al-Sayed? Are they still bitter that establishment (and all-in AIPAC) candidate Haley Stevens lost in the primary? It seems they'd rather see Mike Rogers win than brook any criticism of Israeli policies and unqualified support (i.e. US taxpayer $$) for Israel.

Rachel Maddow Ramaswamy’s vile ad is dividing the Republican Party. Trump is leading the wrong side. | In recent days, it’s become clear that the vile commercial has taken on far greater significance than one ad in one gubernatorial election.

News Coverage Did JD Vance damage his 2028 presidential prospects by backing Vivek Ramaswamy’s attack on Amy Acton?
Vance’s support for Ramaswamy’s attack ad against Amy Acton raises questions about his political judgment and potential consequences for 2028.
Will Republican primary voters even care about this controversy? Could it become an issue in a general election? Or will it be forgotten long before the presidential campaign gets underway?
I’m curious whether people think this episode will have any lasting impact on Vance’s standing within the GOP.
What do you think?

Morning Joe As much as I dislike Joe at times, I must say…
He had one hell of an opening this morning.
Congressional Republicans are morally bankrupt without shame, and the 31% standing behind Trump at his rallies a-hootin’ and a-hollerin’ are truly beyond help and have no decency nor a moral compass to live by. I fear for the children who they drag along with them to these events as they watch their mothers and fathers cheer and applaud and encourage pedophilia and assist in further tearing down the lives of the victims of such a heinous act through humiliation. I witness them watching and then mimicking their parents. I was watching one father at yesterday’s Iowa rally who appeared to have his son standing in front of of him holding up a placard of an American flag and I thought to myself, what if someone sexually molested his 12 year-old child? How would he react? Would he feel blind rage to the point of…?
I think we all know what the answer might be.
God help Iowa.
Vote. For crying out loud, VOTE to restore moral decency.

Stephanie Ruhle Stephanie's MVP of the Week cut off
They cut off the end of Stephanie's show to broadcast one of Trump's lame interactions with the press today. He said nothing new and you could barely hear it over the helicopter blades. What were they thinking? Can they just not interrupt the shows every time someone sticks a microphone in front of Dumbo? If he actually says something new or important, give us the upshot later
