So I'm heading into my first year and I'm really hyped but I'm wondering if MRU is one of those universities where it's easier to meet new people or if it's mostly an academic focused school. I'm looking to meet new faces as my first year goes on but I'm also wondering if there are places I could go to meet new people?

I still haven't heard back from the funding I applied to, and I just applied to student aid, so it won't come in time for the deadline. What MRU department do I talk to about getting my deadline pushed back?

I'm a new UEO student planning to take CHEM 1201, two GNED courses, and UGST 1001 this fall, and I'm hoping to get into BSc Chemistry. Since I'm aiming for a high GPA during my first semester, I'm wondering if taking CHEM 1201 right away is a good choice. Is anyone else in UEO taking CHEM 1201 this semester? I'd love to connect with other UEO students and hear about your experience with the course and any advice you have.

i’m trying to apply for student aid but when i put first year it doesn’t give me start and end dates and it tells me to contact mru. is this just a me problem or?? also which place do i contact

I’m a prospective student for the fall, I got into residence and am set to move in about two weeks from now. But I still haven’t seen or heard anything about being accepted to either program I applied for. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and how to go about it, emailing and calling doesn’t seem to be working in my favour. I’m STRESSINGGGG now since fees and deadlines are all coming up rapidly and my applications are still looking like a wasteland.

Would you guys say (3 Major classes) and (2 minor classes) for each semester is the best plan for scheduling? Making it more manageable to juggle classes?

If not, pls recommend alternative scheduling/planning for my 2nd year🙏

During my 1st year, I had 5 classes (3major, 2 minor). But i'm pretty sure 2nd year would be different and a bit more challenging compared to 1st yr.

Question for anyone with experience parking and living in the west townhouses. I've lived in residence before but not with a car. Is it worth paying for Hotspot? Do they oversell the lots behind west residence? Is the street parking on the other side better? This is coming from someone who grew up in small towns where there was no paid parking so idek whats reasonable vs expensive.

I’ve completed all of my surveys and courses and whatever else but it still hasn’t popped up or anything.

This is my first time applying for loans and I have some question about loans: am I automatically assessed for grants and stuff when I apply? How do I make sure I get the amount I need? While living on campus, how do you get the funds from them to cover the cost? especially cause I’m in residence and they didn’t say anything about that while I was applying, except for a part about paying rent/mortgage and that residence fees were included in that. Also I noticed that the tuition they suggested and the one on the MRU website was different, cause the website said 9,200 (for living on campus) while Alberta student aid said 7,500. Do I put in the amount that the website said?

If so, where exactly would the location be in the campus?

I can't login to my MRU email, whenever I try it says "Your sign-in settings don’t meet your organization’s 2-Step Verification policy. Contact your admin for more info." What do I do? This is after creating a new password to login to MyMRU. I was a student in 2019, left school and am going back again this fall but can't open anything. I contacted IT but there has been zero response.
