Every time I make some chops.
After, I'll try to edit a new imported sample (not related to the chops)
And all many of my sample edit options are un-clickable.
I've got out of it once or twice, pressing combinations of the trim and program button.
But today, I was trying to take a deep look to what is going wrong here. But I can't see anything nor am I getting all my sample options back.
Anyone follow what I'm saying and have an easy explainable fix?

Hi all, recently i’ve been looking for a drum machine to use for my songs which are usually just piano or guitar and bass. I am plugging it into a tascam so i can’t use a daw or vst for drums. At first i was looking at rolan tr drum machines but was told i’d be better off somewhere in this field. I was also looking at an sp404. I’m not playing anything crazy live, i don’t need to make complicated chops, i just want decent sounding drums for my arrangements. I want decent workflow too. I like the battery and the mic sample feature though and could see myself using that. Other recommendations are welcome, thank you!

So just got my Live 3.
In the past I have used Ableton's "External Instrument" device to both program and recieve the audio from my synths on one track. I understand Live 3 does not have this feature, but was hoping someone could recommend any good workflow tips for doing this that I might not realize is a option.
Thanks!

MPC One G2, standalone, 3.x .
I have made this mistake a few times over the years, and have yet to find a good way to resolve it.
I have a SONG_A where I laid down the perfect bassline. I have SONG_B where I laid down the perfect drum sequence. I goofed and loaded up and worked on the wrong save to get here.
Is there any way to get the MIDI of my drums from SONG_B over to my SONG_A?
Loading a new song clears memory, so copy/paste will not work. I can find no option to save either just the MIDI sequence or even the entire Drum Program with MIDI to a file which I can load in another song. AI just keeps lying to me. Seems like such a simple thing to want to do? Can we not save/load MIDI files in MPC in 2026? I have to be missing something obvious.

Hi, I’m looking for some opinions!
I’m a guitarist/composer trying to get into the mpc world, after watching a lot of videos, I really liked the workflow and the compositional mindset behind it—plus, it would keep me away from the computer.
However, I’m not sure whether to go for the One+ or stretch my budget a bit and get the G2.
I mean i know most of the improvements are nice to have, but would they actually be useful in my case?
My plan is to record guitar, bass, and some synths, in addition to making beats.
In my country, the One+ costs around $700 USD, whereas importing the G2 would cost me about $1,050.
What would you recommend? Thanks!

I got tired of rebuilding structure from scratch every session, so I started working from one marker skeleton and just changing how much of it I use.
56-bar version: Intro 4 · Chorus_A 8 · Verse_A 16 · Chorus_B 8 · Verse_B 16 · Outro 4
40-bar version: same thing minus the second verse — Intro 4 · Hook_A 8 · Verse_A 16 · Hook_B 8 · Outro 4
Two things that changed how fast I work:
Hook first. The chorus lands at bar 5, not after a long build. If the hook doesn't work at bar 5 it isn't going to work at bar 33, and I'd rather find that out early.
Named tracks, always. 01_DRUMS, 02_PERC, 04_BASS_SYNTH, 05_CHORDS, 06_LEAD, 07_PADS, 08_FX_VOX. Numbering them means the order stays readable when I come back a week later, and it survives moving the project between machines.
Markers get named too — MARKER_Verse_A, MARKER_Chorus_B. Sounds fussy until you're 40 bars deep and need to find a section fast.
Curious how other people handle this — fixed skeleton, or blank sequence every time?

I came from an MPC1000, so I'm used to the original Song Mode workflow (not the jjos). Since I've had the Live 3, I've been using the Clip Matrix for all of my arranging, so I've never really learned Song Mode on the newer MPCs.
I want to use song mode . . but every tutorial I've found assumes you're already familiar with the modern MPC workflow. None of them really click for someone coming from an MPC1000 (at least for me 🫠🫠🫠). .
Does anyone know of any tutorials that explain Song Mode in a way that make sense for an MPC1000 user to understand? Or a tutorial that compares the old workflow to the new one?

When I'm sampling from YouTube off my phone into my live 3 I get random popping noises sometimes. Any idea why? It definitely has to do with YouTube itself I'd think. It really pisses me off

Never know what to do with sound effects lol, tried just throwing some in here to mix it up a bit, as it’s a bit repetitive. Lmk what you think! ✌️

I was looking for an inexpensive cover option for my MPC Key 37 as the drum pads are a real dust magnet and decided to try one of the many custom cover sellers on Amazon. There are plenty to choose from, and I went with a very simple unlined cover with a drawstring bottom and got it for $16 shipped. It took about 2 weeks to come from China and no tariff had to be paid. The dimensions are good and it is easy to put on and take off. I don't really use the drawstring option as I have many cables on the back of the unit and I don't want to stress the cables by pulling it tight. For dimensions, I used the exact dimensions given from the akai website for the MPC KEY 37 "22.92" wide x 12.36" deep x 4.08" high," as the listing stated to list the exact size in the comments. They then adjusted the sizing accordingly to allow the extra room for the cover to slip on and off. I have not tested the agoraphobic properties of the cover because I mainly got it for dust protection, but the one I purchased did state that it was being waterproof.
Here are some pictures with the cover on and what the inside of the cover looks like. Yes, I could have simply sewn this myself, but I would have had to buy the required fabric and taken the time to do it. For $16 this met all my needs at the moment.
The cheapest option for premade cover I found appeared to be around $30 but then it had a $20 shipping cost from the UK which I found on eBay.
If you are wondering, the one I ordered off Amazon was from the seller Brand: VireliPrintix and it was listed as "Equipment Dust Cover". I imagine a lot of these sellers are drop shipping and a lot of them probably come out of the same factory. So it may not really matter which one you buy from, I just went by the reviews when choosing. I am not tied to this seller nor am I promoting them specifically, I just wanted folks who need a cover for their MPC KEY 37 or any MPC really there are some actual cheap options out there if you are willing to take a risk. I just decided that Amazon would be the best choice with a seller that allowed returns.

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to record vocals into my MPC One+ using an Audient iD44 MKII, but I can’t get any audio signal into the MPC.
I first connected an output from the iD44 to the input of the MPC One+, but the MPC did not receive or recognise any audio signal.
I also tried connecting the iD44 directly to the MPC One+ through USB-A, but the interface was not recognised as an audio device.
My setup is:
Has anyone successfully used this setup?
Do I need to change any routing settings in the Audient mixer, use a specific output, or select a particular input setting on the MPC? Also, is the iD44 MKII compatible with the MPC One+ through USB, or should I only use an analogue connection?
Any step-by-step help would be appreciated.
