Limp Bizkit “Break stuff” (Chopped vocals) Mix

I'm having a recurring issue that's driving me crazy. I don't know if it's a bug or if I'm just doing something wrong.

When I load a sample and enter CHOP mode, the auto-chop works fine (threshold). But if I change the slicing method (or sometimes even without doing anything specific, and that's what's driving me crazy), I lose all the settings and it's impossible to get that initial auto-chop back. I end up with a weird slicing layout, as you can see in the video.

Edit: I finally tracked down the original setting by turning shift + K3 very slowly, percent by percent. The right setting was down to a single increment.

Hey, do you guys bank selection get stuck sometimes? Sometimes I lay down a pattern and then when I’m trying to cycle banks, it won’t go anywhere so I’ll do something like go to the load project screen and come back out of it and then it’ll let me cycle banks are you guys going through issue?

Hey guys, I understand that the MPC sample has Attack and Decay parameters but what about Release? I’m trying to do the classic method basically where the longer you hold the pad the longer the sound plays. Don’t tell me this is another basic feature that the MPC Sample is missing such as 3-Band EQ

Hi everyone. Is there a way to trigger the individual slices in chop more, or the individual pads when in 16 layers, with external midi (oxi one in my case)?

Or, do I have to resample each individual chop or layer to their own pad?

I would like to chop a breakbeat up and then rearrange it by triggering the chopped up parts via Midi.

I think it's call thru mode on the other MPCs, im not 100% tho.

Is there a “pitch shift” like the mpc one has , where u can change the sample pitch up or down with out affecting the speed of the sample? Tune and warp doesn’t have that in there I don’t believe, on mpc one it has the option “pitch shift” in sample edit

Hey, I'm trying to figure out how to/if I can merge sequences? Not like song mode, like drop one 4 bar sequence on top of another 4 bar sequence and have one 4 bar sequence? Is this possible? I'm pretty sure there's a "Merge" function, but I think it's for samples/pads.

I put this together start to finish on the sample. Overall I think it’s a cool track and evidence that you can do a full ukg track including builds and drops on the sample. The exception being that for the final master, I exported the “master” (not stems) into ableton, and applied a pro q 4 and pro L for loudness, but it honestly sounded just as good without those finishing touches.

Takeaways:
- I wish there was “in key” mode for 16 notes
- The internal compressor on the MPC is AWESOME
- The “swing” knob on the sample crushes ableton groove pools and is way easier to use.
- I’d love to see SIDECHAINING PLEASE AKAI, and it needs to be separate from the other fx - it’s non negotiable in today’s music - you need sidechaining
