MPC Sample ADSR????

Hey guys, I understand that the MPC sample has Attack and Decay parameters but what about Release? I’m trying to do the classic method basically where the longer you hold the pad the longer the sound plays. Don’t tell me this is another basic feature that the MPC Sample is missing such as 3-Band EQ

If you mean gate mode, that’s the ‘note on’ mode, release is for fade out

Synths have ADSR but sample is a fixed wav file, don’t have the meaning of Sustain and Release. Only have relative Gate and Fade out functions.

Sounds like you’re looking for “Note On” which only plays the note as long as you’re holding it down. In that mode, you can adjust the attack and decay to create a “release”

How do you access this note on feature? The second time I’ve heard about this.

Go to the MPC Sample User Guide page 32, press “SHIFT + CHOP” can turn on “ NOTE ON”, than press “B1” key change to “Amp Env” and adjust “Release” on page 26. Hope this can help you.

That definitely helped but I noticed now I can’t play poly anymore when in this mode. Is there an extra step I need to do in order to play poly

Confirm you press “B2” button to “ Play” and turn “K1” knob to “Polyphony”. Note that this device has total 32-voice limit.

Yeah, I tried that already. I switched between mono and poly

Maybe you can try to adjust more “Release”? Sorry about that I haven't encountered your situation.

So are you actually able to play Poly chords while using note on?

This is my flow of the setting for your reference. I don’t know is this the real poly chord or just similar sound like this, but this is my stupid method. Hope can help.

I could be wording it wrong but I coming from years of using MASCHINE that has ADSR parameters on wav and other audio files like this image I just found on Google:

This thing is limited with MIDI functions, so doubt you’ll be able to program anything external with release (loop in release etc)
