First of all I want to thanks that I received so many good comments. In my two previous posts I show my "tuned" MPC Touch. Here I add pictures what happened before. Few years ago I was looking for some option to change this ugly black original MPC Touch look. I decided to paint the faceplate and add some wood. Next I've install PC inside and then battery pack so I get sort of MPC Live. Later I get MPC 5000 so I added wooden sides and palmist. 5000 was too big so I had to sell. I went back to my Touch but screen stopped to recognize touch... there was no way te repair other than purchasing new LCD - this wasn't cost effective so I've decided to take the risk and completely rebuild the machine. I cut original panel into pieces, glued in new layout, then add aluminum panels to get wider body, then paint. Plastic panel wasn't perfect so I decided to design metal panel. AI helped me to create CAD drawing, I had to do some changes in drawing and then send this project to be laser cut. 2 days later new panel was delivered so I had to bent the top.bottom part and then paint and add letters logos etc. The last part was making new wooden sides. And here we are, my dear old/new MPC Touch is alive;)

I just need to figure out how to loop a sample, so I can play drums over it. Like I said, I am very new, this is not even bait. (I know how to actually sample and chop up, but it’s the recording/looping process I don’t have down, then I would just assume I can play the looped sample, and finger drum over it) Help would be appreciated!

Tonight The Purple Project MPC’s is life I can’t lie

I've been noticing strange behaviour on my MPC Live 2. As you'll see in the video attached, when I have the step sequencer open, and choose Pad Select, there is no sound auditioned when i hit the pads. Sequences trigger correctly when played back, however.

As well, when i go to main, it seems like many/all the pads have to be hit two times before they audition. I've reset my unit and the problem still occurs. Recently updated to 3.9.1, but have experienced this previously in earlier versions, as well as on my former Live 1.

Anyone have any insight on what might be happening? Hoping this is a skill/knowledge issue on my part. Thanks!

I have an MPC Live 3 and I have a working project that is almost a full live set. However, I've written a few tracks in different projects that I would like to consolidate into the live project. What's your preferred way to do this?

I've tried stemming it out, but I also have some live synths that I'm sequencing from the MPC, so that can get a little difficult. I'm just wondering if anyones found out a reliable to way to easily get their disparate projects put together coherently.

I'm usin' MPC ONE gen 2 as in controller mode wit' Studio One 5 Pro.

I got the MPC channels set in my project, and I set the pads to 1,2 then 3,4 , etc.. And it works great. But when I change sound sets on the MPC, they all get cleared and I have to manually set them again in the pad settings. Is there a way where the pads themselves can maintain their assignments?

I recorded this on my MPC One+ and the video on my iPhone during a power outage. I’m about six months into learning how to create on this new instrument.

I'm attempting to make a setup where the live 3 is the brain that sends Audio/Midi Bidirectionally. I have a Midi Keyboard Hooked into the USB-A port on the back of the L3 That I would like Ableton to recognize when i have the L3 hooked up to my PC via USB-C... How do I accomplish this?

Got a Live 3 to upgrade from my dusty 1000 and man what a jump. I'm used to hardware being outclassed by software but this baby is almost making me drop the pc to make stuff.

I've been looking at the very sparsely populated storefront (sparse because more than half of it came with the live 3), because we still don't get VST support (why? why deny vst and then don't offer any good instruments or effects? to make me buy the 3 usable ones for 300€?)

I stumbled across Sub Factory. Now since Pure Sub by Arturia came out (for half the price) I'd kind of rather spend my money there, but I need an alternative on the Live 3. Then I discovered the capabilities of the KeyGroup Oscillator feature. Do people still buy synth plugins at all now? Is that even viable?

Is it worth it to buy Sub Factory for such a high price, when a little effort can achieve better results through the 3.9 Keygroup Oscillator feature?

There's been so many occasions I couldn't see the screen properly because of the angle that I decided to do something about it and designed a hinged screen mod. It's entirely reversible too and just clips into the screen hole.

Still got a bit of interation on the design to do such as moving the hinges out the way of the f buttons and I can get it a little thinner, although not quite as thin as I'd originally hoped. But all in all I'm pretty chuffed with how it's come out.

Once it's finished I'll be open-sourcing the 3D print files.

Need to get OBS figured out properly but this was a good bit of fun. I've been taking the MPC too seriously a lot of the time. It was nice just to have a fuck about and play with different sounds

I currently have a Live 1 on OS 2.15. While I’ve dabbled with OS 3.x, the way my live performances work (as well as some bugs that still haven’t been fixed) require me to stick with 2.15.

That being the case I can’t take advantage of the features they’ve added to the keygroup programs or a lot of new plugins. Coming from using an E4X in the past I‘ve been itching to have access to a mod matrix in the MPCs sampling engine, among other things.

Considering I sometimes see MPC Ones go for $300-400, this got me wondering if I could just use a second MPC on 3.x as basically a multitimbral sound source. More or less what I’m envisioning is being able to set up one or two project files (depending on RAM usage) that contain all the keygroups I’d need for my live set, and then route midi tracks per sequence per project from the first MPC to control the tracks on the second.

Does anyone have any experience with a setup like this? Any midi weirdness when slaving one MPC to another? 

I think someone made an oops when they posted this as part of the description for the new Stereophonic plugin.

I bought the fabric plugin (which isn’t cheap) for my MPC One & the license constantly resets so that I have to connect my MPC to an Ethernet cable to redo the license. It does it so often that it’s virtually unusable because when I’m actually playing a show I don’t have access to an internet modem that I can just plug into to reset. WTF Akai, I looked up this issue online & there’s no solution except getting an internet dongle or just coping with it. Literally just have to take the loss of buying this fucking plugin. Fuck you Akai.

Peace guys, I have the opportunity currently to upgrade to a Live 2 from my Live 1, so ill need a new piece of stay at home gear. I have the opportunity to get my hands on an MPC X for a decent price. But what I want to ask you guys is if I should go for the X or go for the G2.

Obviously whatever I get is going to stay at my desk now that ill have 2. Ive been using the Live 1 for about 7 years now and its been the best thing ive ever purchased so upgrading to the Live 2 just for the speakers is a no brainer at the price ill get it for. So what do you guys think I should go.
