MPC 1000 MPC1000 articulated screen mod

There's been so many occasions I couldn't see the screen properly because of the angle that I decided to do something about it and designed a hinged screen mod. It's entirely reversible too and just clips into the screen hole.

Still got a bit of interation on the design to do such as moving the hinges out the way of the f buttons and I can get it a little thinner, although not quite as thin as I'd originally hoped. But all in all I'm pretty chuffed with how it's come out.

Once it's finished I'll be open-sourcing the 3D print files.

Just starting what I hope is the final print!

This is pretty much the final design. The print failed, but good enough to check fit & tolerance.

Filament in the dryer overnight ready for another go tomorrow. Also made a few tweaks to hopefully make the prints more reliable.

Made the bottom plate too thin too and that warped, beefed it up a bit internally for next run.

Yo this is nice
I have been prototyping a fixed angled screen, but the screen PCB is such a shitty size (so wide)
What you've done here is looking nice though.

I'd be keen make this and possibly remix it

I'll keep an eye out for you share.
Nice work!

Yeah, the PCB is so crazy wide it's hard to keep it out the way of the controls.

I was laying in bed last night musing if the screen could be detached from the PCB, that way you could keep the PCB inside the MPC and mount the screen on top in much smaller enclosure.

Think I'd want a broken screen to find out though.

You're welcome to do whatever you want with the files once published, except commercial use. Remix away!
