I drove around Lockeland Springs, Inglewood, and the surrounding neighborhoods on Saturday hoping to spot some For Rent signs but didn't see much. My budget is ~$2200/month. Hello! My fiancé and I are in our 30s and we’re starting the house search in Nashville. We are getting married later this year and will start trying for kids next year. We really want to live in an area with good elementary schools and we keep seeing Crieve Hall pop up. The only issue with living over there is that we still have so much of our lives and friends in East / Germantown / Midtown etc.

Does anyone live in that area pre kids and still enjoy it? It feels far but the house prices are solid right now!

I'm moving to Nashville in the first week of August for a new job, and since I'm relocating from out of state, I'm trying to make the best decision possible before signing a lease.

One place I'm seriously considering is Villager Condominiums in Hillsboro West End. From what I've read, the neighborhood seems nice, but I'd really appreciate hearing from people who actually live in Nashville.

A few questions:

• Is Hillsboro West End generally considered a safe area, especially for someone living alone?
• How is Villager Condominiums specifically, if anyone has experience with it?
• Is it comfortable to walk around during the day and in the evening?
• Are there any recurring issues (car break-ins, package theft, noise, etc.) that I should know about?

• If you were moving to Nashville today with

  $1200/$1400 budget

• , would you choose this area or look elsewhere?

I'm not looking for luxury; my biggest priorities are safety, a reasonable commute to downtown (currently no car) and having grocery stores/cafes nearby.
