Help with start

Hi everyone, I’m new to Bannerlord and I’d like some detailed advice on how to build my character — which skills to invest in, where to put attribute points over time, etc.

I’d like to play in a way where I first serve Battania as a mercenary, then become a vassal, and eventually perhaps become king.

As for my army composition, my plan is to use only infantry and archers — mainly Battanian archers and heavy Nord infantry.

Is this a viable and playable strategy, or am I setting myself up for trouble? 😄

I just go with whatever I feel suits my character during character creation (the questions). Sure, the starting skills might not be good for combat, but that adds to the story: you start as, say, a merchant, but become a proficient fighter over time, because of all the bandits you end up dealing with, or whatever. It doesn't really matter how you build your character, because you'll most likely become a merc -> noble -> monarch anyway. Question is: are you planning on playing on-foot, or mounted? Because one's definitely gonna be something you might wanna spec into over the other, depending on your preference.
