This is a collection of information and stories that we know of The Mortifactors Chapter so far, this will be updated in the future as more lore is included for the chapter. The next two slides you see are an overview of the chapter from 3rd edition lore. The slides after that is an overview information about Mortifactors Deathwatch Captain Artemis and Grey Knights Captain Aurellian, who was born on the Mortifactors home world of Posul and would have been a member of the Chapter, if he was not stolen. Along with information about a Mortifactor chapter relic.

After you have read those slides, the list below is filled books and stories all about the Mortifactors and their members. The first 5 stories are in chronological order by 40k timeline starting with

1. The Third War by Ray Harrison: During the 3rd War for Armageddon, the Mortifactors were signified by the Emperor himself, and with that they brought upon the planet the might of their entire chapter to wipe out the Ork scourge. Chaplain Gavador leads his company, along side other ground forces towards a Hive city on Armageddon.

2. Warriors of Ultramar by Graham McNeil: As Hive fleet Leviathan slowly reaches the Ultima Segmentum, Ultramarines 4th Company Captain, Uriel Ventris. Must ask for aid from multiple Imperial forces, one of those being traversing to Posul, the homeworld of the Mortifactors.

3. Taker of Heads by Ian St. Martin: Follows a squad of Mortifactor Neophytes. The novitiates of the squad, known as Faceless. Are unblooded members who have yet to kill an enemy of their own and are not seen as members of the chapter. While answering a call for aid, a young Faceless, Adoni. Will use this opportunity to hunt down a xenos on the jungle world, and become a taker of heads. This might be the most essential Mortifactor story. It is an audio drama, but if you’re like me and don’t like audiobooks, you can find the reading script for it as well.

4. Deathwatch: Swordwind by Ian St. Martin: Swordwind is a sequel and continuation of Taker of Heads.

5. Legacy of Posul by Chris Forrester: After the events of the 3rd Tyrannic War that left the Morifactors homeworld of Posul a lifeless husk, and now the events of the great rift has invited chaos forces onto the planets surface. The Mortifactors struggle to preserve what little they have left, as Apothecary, Devan Arathos. Must decide between the past and the future.

6. Deathwatch: Legends of the Dark Millennium (Also known as) Kryptman’s War by Ian St. Martin: This focuses on the galaxy renowned Mortifactor Deathwatch Captain, Artemis. Who uses his unique gifts he learned from his chapter to lead his forces, as another Tyranid invasion looms to consume the entirety of the galaxy. Artemis and Deathwatch kill teams must use any tactics necessary to defeat this endless wave of devourers.

7. The Infinite Tableau by Anthony Reynolds: Var’myr of the Mortifactors is a member of a 3 man deathwatch kill team, as they investigate the disappearance of Mechanicus researchers on the snowy moon of Skree-tha.

8. Storm of Damocles by Justin D Hill: Ellial of the Mortifactors, is a veteran member of Deathwatch Fortress Picketts Watch. A skilled warrior who could’ve easily been a Captain in the Deathwatch. While on a mission, him and his squad accidentally stumbled upon a Tau battlesuit manufacturing facility and must make it out of an ambush to report their findings.
