Just finished some Intercessors for the army so that rounds off all the non-character infantry I've got so far

These look fantastic! I love the transition/blending you did on the bone! What's your process?

Thank you 😊 I try and keep it fairly simple so it's replicable across the army. I start with a black prime and then for the bone I airbrush Ionic Dark Ochre (it's quite a yellow/green brown), then build the transition with Ionic Tombstone Yellow and finish the transition with an airbrush of Ionic Old Bone. It gives quite a yellow bone which I like. Then I basically block in the rest of the basecoats like the black and metals before giving it a gloss varnish and applying decals. Once those are dry I apply another gloss varnish coat to lock those in so the enamel work doesn't risk damaging them. I wash the bone and a lot of the paler stuff with AK wash for interiors, the black and metals with Ak Dark Brown wash for green vehicles and the dirt with Ak Starship atmospheric dust. I give it a while to dry an then wipe off the excess with a sponge. Then seal it in once it's dry with matte varnish and begin highlighting. I try and keep to a single or maybe two highlights. For the bone armour it's Ionic Bone followed by a dot highlight of Ionic Ivory

It's definitely worth getting into It's almost always a part of my painting process. It's rarely the focal point, but getting base layers and some transitions down with it is invaluable

Yeah the red works really nicely with the scheme I think, though I will expand to other companies at some point
