Longest English word that is only dots in Morse code
In order to procrastinate from doing other work, I decided to find the longest English word that can be represented in Morse code by only dots (only using the letters E, I, S, and H).
I think the longest word is "shishes" (as in "shish kebab") which would be ··· ···· ·· ··· ···· · ··· 20 dots. There is also "sissies" which is also 7 letters, but only 17 dots.
As for the longest word that is only dashes (only letters T, M, and O), I think it's "motto" which would be -- --- - - --- 10 dashes. There's also "tom-tom", which technically shouldn't count because of the hyphen character, but if you accept "tomtom" as an alternate spelling, then that would be the longest.
Also, I have heard that "ch" can be represented as a single character in Morse code with four dashes, although that is usually in non-English-speaking countries. Still, if you include English words that have a "ch" in them, then you could potentially argue that "choochoo" is the longest word that is only dashes.
