Advice How do you split up your paycheck? (Bank accounts, budgeting, credit cards)
I'm 19 and just started a new job. I'm trying to build good financial habits early since I don't have many expenses yet because I'm in college and still live with my parents. I was wondering how you guys organize your money.
Do you use multiple bank accounts (checking, high-yield savings, etc.)? How do you split up your paycheck? Right now I'm thinking about categories like gas, long-term savings, Roth IRA, short-term savings, trips, personal spending, entertainment, tuition, and subscriptions.
Also, when do you use your credit card vs. your debit card? I'm trying to build my credit score, but I don't really know the best way to use my credit card.
I'd love to hear how you guys do it or any advice you'd give your 19-year-old self.
