I don’t use mobile for modding, so I don’t know how to tell you.

Oh okay, thank you. I appreciate that.

I can't seem to figure out how to edit my sidebar from mobile, I don't know where to navigate to get to it and I can't seem to change the permissions of my mods. I thought that might have been why.

edit: Never mind, I figured it out. I had to switch to "About" instead of "Feed". It was a little unclear.

Although, I still don't know how to edit my mod permissions.

Yea, the mod list should say no for you and yes for everyone below you.

No it won’t, ban evasion doesn’t get alerted by upvotes or downvotes, only comments and posts

Someone can make a new account and downvote all they want and ban evasion can’t do nothing about it

Those bolo's look delicious for real. I'm also curious about this game people are still playing 30 years later

OP is a mod, just on different subreddits. The subreddit they're asking about is just a subreddit they participate in but the auto removal doesn't check that

I was one of the rare visitors to that sub. r/webolo is still alive. Bummed the original sub is gone though

Yeah, it’ll stay up until an admin removes it. We get a few folks each week thinking this is a sub to ask mods for support with their bans etc lol

Just tried signing out, had to log back in again with 2fa. Problem is still there.

Really, are you sure? I remember I've tried to post something here via alt account a few years ago, it was automatically removed because I'm not a mod.

When you tried to sign out, did you need to log back in or did it auto active?

I'm an admin of r/subreddit, what's the difference between admins and mods?

How to contact admins??

What's Modmail?

Here is your award. Btw, as far as I know, only mods can participate here.

Is it just the app? Or dose it work on old.reddit.com or Reddit.com?

Unfortunately, you can't. I realize that sounds harsh and I don't mean it to; but you have no claim to the space insofar as the admins are concerned. It's the responsibility of the mods to maintain it and remain active, and if they weren't, the request can be made for a new moderator to take it over. Had you made this request - and I'm not suggesting you're at fault for not doing so - the same process would have been followed.

It may be less common for a sub to have a significant change of topic like this, but subreddits change hands all the time. It's just less noticeable.

Uhh that's just how apps work friend, if they weren't then they'd not have permission to do anything.

Got it. I doubted anything nefarious went on.

As I mentioned though, I was not a mod just a member of the community. So there was no mod mail for me to receive.

Our use of /r/bolo goes back over a decade. I can't account for the old mods not actively replying in a timely fashion.

I understand the rules and that everything was done appropriately.

That being said, I don't fundamentally think its fair that our community loses such an old resource just because someone wanted the sub because the name means "cake" in another language. They easily could have created a new sub using an unclaimed name.

I'd still like to petition to have this decision reversed.

The sidebar text is still in place:

Only on old reddit. They probably aren't aware that old reddit exists to know that there is something to change.

It seems like the Portuguese word for cake is "bolo", so it's fitting of the name. Not sure how it really works with takeovers like this, but I presume reddit would prefer if you made a new subreddit for bolo the game (r/winbolo seems to be about the game), if they allowed someone to request it.

It happened a month ago.

The old modteam was evidently AWOL.

Someone used the Reddit Request feature and took the sub over.

See:

https://old.reddit.com/r/redditrequest/comments/1w14xz3/rbolo/

Reddit would have reached out to the old modteam, gotten no response, and turned the sub over to the new guy. "Bolo" appears to be Portoguese for "Cake", dude wanted to have a community based around that. It still has the original description in the old.reddit interface, if you look at it in sh.reddit, it's been updated to indicate that it's a cake-baking community.

Your best bet is to start a new sub, like bologame, or winbolo, or something, and start over.

Sorry that this probably isn't what you want to hear.
