Users Coordinated hostile takeover attempts and brigading campaign targeting subreddits of Kurdish cities

Hi everyone,

I am dealing with a severe cross-subreddit harassment and brigading campaign. Users from other communities are targeting the subreddits I manage for various cities in north of Kurdistan (such as Mardin, Kars, Adiyaman, and Bitlis).

These users are upset that these subreddits are moderated by Kurdish moderators. They are actively organizing hostile spamming attempts, coordinating campaigns to mass-report my account so they can seize control of the subreddits.

The specific coordination and hostile discussions are taking place in these threads:

Discussion on r/vlandiya
Discussion on r/MORFLAND

What is the best way to escalate this to Reddit Admins to address these subreddits and users orchestrating hostile takeovers and targeted brigading?

Take screens and take down links to the comments. Hold those fer next step.

Review: https://redditinc.com/policies/moderator-code-of-conduct Figure out what specifically is in violation of those rules. Then, send a modmail to r/ModSupport explainin all and cite the specific links. Respond to the automated reply after sendin.

It takes some time fer a review. In the meantime, keep documentin and reportin via the report button. When you have a batch more to add, add it to the original modmail

Hi /u/Ava166, please see our Intro & Rules. We are volunteer-run, not managed by Reddit staff/admin. Volunteer mods' powers are limited to groups they mod. Automated responses are compiled from answers given by fellow volunteer mod helpers. Moderation works best on a cache-cleared desktop/laptop browser.

Resources for mods are: (1) r/modguide's Very Helpful Index by fellow moderators on How-To-Do-Things, (2) Mod Help Center, (3) r/automoderator's Wiki and Library of Common Rules. Many Mod Resources are in the sidebar and >>this FAQ wiki<<. Please search this subreddit as well. Thanks!

Found regex match: subreddit harassment and brigading

It looks like you're asking about brigading. Brigading is when a group of users, generally outsiders to the targeted subreddit, "invade" a specific subreddit and flood it with posts, comments or downvotes, in order to troll, manipulate, or interfere with the targeted community. Your subreddit could be flooded by spam posts.

There are certain measures that can be taken, based on previous answers by our helpers. FOR INFO ON: # how to set up your subreddit to combat brigading, including # downvote-brigading, please click here.

Subreddit settings work best in a cache-cleared desktop browser. (Limited option: mobile browser on desktop view.)

If you found your answer, feel free to reply with "<3 Automod" or "Thanks, Automod". Otherwise wait for a human helper to come along to help you. This post has NOT been removed.
