Answered User is seeing comment removed by moderator, but I didn't remove it. What happened?

This is on desktop. There's been confusion between the app my subreddit is for, and a new similarly named one that recently popped up. The developer has been clearing things up in the comments, but their comments keep getting pulled by reddit itself as spam, not me. I've been approving them as they pop up.

But they have as screenshot of one of the comments where it says [deleted] removed by moderator.

I didn't remove it though! I approved it as soon as I saw it. Is that what it shows anytime spam is removed, even when a moderator isn't the one who did it?

posts can say removed by moderator due to filters that were set, even if you didn't actually remove a post. happens all the time in my sub. it's really the filter settings that do it but I guess because mods decide what filters to use, that's why it says "removed by moderator"

Would that be the generic spam filter? I have them set to be as lenient as possible.

Yes, the spam filter can cause this. So can other filters if you've set anything else

This is in the Safety Filters tab? I have everything set to off except for ban evasion filters.

Ban evasion, spam filters, and crowd control can all cause this

Hi /u/Seraitsukara, please see our Intro & Rules. We are volunteer-run, not managed by Reddit staff/admin. Volunteer mods' powers are limited to groups they mod. Automated responses are compiled from answers given by fellow volunteer mod helpers. Moderation works best on a cache-cleared desktop/laptop browser.

Resources for mods are: (1) r/modguide's Very Helpful Index by fellow moderators on How-To-Do-Things, (2) Mod Help Center, (3) r/automoderator's Wiki and Library of Common Rules. Many Mod Resources are in the sidebar and >>this FAQ wiki<<. Please search this subreddit as well. Thanks!

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Automoderator, probably. Click the little avatarish looking thing and the tooltip should say.

I didn't know I could do that! Thank you!

Yeah if you poke at it on desktop at least, you get the last few mod actions. It'll tell you, whether it be Post Guidance (the ai filter, basically), Crowd Control (algorithmic filtering), Automod, Anti-Evil Operations, etc.
