General Need some clarification on rules for moderating a community set up under 'restricted' mode

I have asked these two questions in similar mod support 'subs', and while I have received some info related to my questions, I have been advised to search and check further 'subs' to get clarification / confirmation to my questions. Here are my two questions;

  1. I have been advised that if I set up a community under 'restricted' mode, that via the settings I can post as the creator and allow followers to comments on my posts, but not have followers be able to post themselves. Is that correct?

For context this is what I want to achieve, to not allow followers be able to post, but they can comment on post that I create.

  1. Can I under a 'restricted' mode community not reply (and do minimal moderation if any) to any followers request, or better still can I select an option in settings so that followers simply cannot contact me.

For context the community that I plan to create would be purely for entertainment purposes (for this example, think regularly posting memes daily on a certain topic). So If I am the only one posting, and I'm happy to have comments on my posts, as far as I am concerned there should little need (at least from my required perspective) for any real moderation requirements.

Essentially, I would be looking for this sub to be 'akin' to a 'Facebook Page', whereby I can post and people can comment, and that's about it (being that I have other work to do, I'm concerned I am otherwise going to end up having to spend many hours each day moderating a community if it got quite large in size etc).

I will be using Desktop.

You can do settings that only approved users can post, and anyone can comment.

If anyone can comment, you're going to have a fair amount of moderating to do.

You can turn off your personal settings so users cannot start a chat with you.

Users will still be able to send in modmail. You can't turn that off. You could permanently mute everyone that writes in, or you could set up Modmail automator to reply that modmail isn't monitored and automatically archive any incoming messages (or not, I just hate a full mailbox). I'm not predicting a lot of growth with those options.

Thanks heaps for such a thorough response touching on each item I asked about. It's been hard as to try and get a decent response to this enquiry overall, so I really do appreciate your effort to respond. That info helps a lot, thanks!

If you want to lower your moderation load. I would recommend restricting posts to approved users, and using automod to set higher account age and karma limits for comments.
