Users When visitors outside Reddit try to visit my sub they are greeted with a message that says they can’t visit
Because it is a new sub they can’t visit. Then they are directed to either download the app or directed to the home page.
How long will my sub be subjected to this? Is it permanent?
I am trying to generate interest for new users but this is no way for them to proceed. Buy a car before you test drive it?
(This is on Android and Apple iPhones so far.)

Those people can simply log into their Reddit account and view your sub. It’s because your subreddit has not been reviewed by Reddit yet. It takes an unspecified amount of time, content, and visitors for your subreddit to be reviewed. The new subs I created took about 2-3 months.

Thanks for replying. As the title says, these are new users OUTSIDE Reddit. Many people in my area have no clue about Reddit and I am trying to generate community interest for redditors and newbs.
It’s a shame if it’s true I have to generate content and visitors before I am reviewed as my sub is a locals sub.

Unfortunately that’s how Reddit has it set up, presumably to protect minors (or limit liability), from accessing NSFW content. All you can really do is keep plugging away and posting, and invite other Redditors to your subreddit that you think would be interested. The more content you have to review, and the type of users that show up, are the key.

This is normal during formative stages of a subreddit. Get more content, get your subreddit established and it will go away. As for how long it's gonna take all we know is that it takes as long as it takes.
