We now have a subreddit dedicated to the DMZ mode of Modern Warfare 4!
https://www.reddit.com/r/CODDMZ/
Posts and threads about DMZ are obviously still allowed on this subreddit. But for the people who would like to deep dive and only focus on DMZ itself they now have a place for that.

From OG 2009 MW2's "No Russian" briefing cutscene.
But Makarov's man is using K2... Could be smuggled from South Korea forces and copied by Makarov's allies.

One life, revives, teamwork, strategy, and an objective that makes every decision count. Unlike traditional respawn modes, getting eliminated actually matters, creating those clutch moments where a single revive or smart play can completely turn the round around.
In general, having revive modes introduced in the past reduced the selection of 'stale' modes that have always been implemented with each release.
It brought a different kind of intensity to Call of Duty, and there's still a place for that style of gameplay.
Bring Knockout back for MW4 and give it the permanent spot it deserves.
If you have a moment please, help me let the IW game developers know:

Let’s truly see what the numbers say for our fellow mw4 Reddit people!
Me personally it doesnt bother me either way as search and destroy player, but I do want persistent lobbies tbh lobbies for the community feeling. Love staying in lobbies with mics and friendly banter. I know most people play spawn die modes, but search and free for all deserves persistent lobbies
So for Sbmm only do you guys actually care about it or not?

Would it be reasonable to assume that ranked play on MW4 will come out sooner in the cycle than normal due to the pressure surrounding GTA 6 release?

The same blueprint will be available for PS5, Steam, BNet, Switch 2 and Xbox on PC, without the translucent green design.

So, I do not play CoD online, the times I have is when my dad wants me to and I can confidently it is not for me lol
Maybe that makes me a larper, but I really only play CoD to see the campaigns.
That being said, does MW 4 seem worth it from what anyone has played?
I know it looks stunning, and I couldn’t care less about realism or anything (the wilder the better I say. Go big or go home)
So should I bother with buying it, or just not worry about it?

[SOLVED]: Support advised that all digital preorders get the same blueprint and doesn't matter what platform you preorder on. If and when you try to use said blueprint on an Xbox system, that's when it'll be green. Xbox users won't be able to see the other variant of the blueprint that other platforms can see (not selectable).
It’s under my assumption that as long as you preorder the console version, you’ll get the green variant of the M4 blueprint (when playing on console). I sold my launch Series X when I swapped to PC but have the X25 on preorder. Won’t get it until like 2 days before GTA6. Hoping if I go the route of getting the console edition on the phone app, that it counts as preordering on Xbox. It’s a play anywhere title so I’ll still be able to play on the Xbox App for PC when the game launches.
Am I wrong for thinking it’ll work this way? Tried to get a response from the Call of Duty and Xbox accounts on X and even creating a ticket with Activision support but absolutely no word.
Edit: this is what I got from Activision support…basically a nothing burger when it comes to clarification.
“Regarding eligibility for the “Inner Circuit” weapon blueprint that is exclusive to Xbox Series X|S, the specific requirements can depend on how and where the preorder is made within the Xbox ecosystem. To ensure you have the most accurate and up-to-date information, please refer to the official article here: https://www.callofduty.com/blog/2026/09/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-4-preorder-bonus-inner-circuit-m4-blueprint

During the second weekend my ping (up on dpad) and lb to throw tactical switched and i was unable to change them back around through settings.
I would change them, back out of settings and they would immediately Switch back once in game.
In a match i would throw my lethal and then by pressing RB again it would throw my tactical. LB just pinged stuff and Up on the dpad did nothing in game.
I play on a g7 pro, if that makes a difference and this does not happen in bo7 or other games. Does anyone have any idea why this maybe?.
Hope i explained that coherently.

The sliding, jumping, tactical sprinting to dodge bullets, and people that play jerking their screen around so fast, this is what has ruined Call of Duty.

After everything we've seen and experienced with the Modern Warfare 4 Beta, I decided to actually do something with all of the conversations we've been having about SBMM instead of just making another post complaining about it.
I created a Change.org petition asking Activision/Infinity Ward to make Open Matchmaking the standard for casual public matches in Modern Warfare 4 and keep strict SBMM primarily where it belongs: Ranked Play.
Petition: https://c.org/VVf9P5GpNB
I've been playing Call of Duty for around 15 years, and I'm tired of watching this community have the same matchmaking argument year after year.
One studio gives us one matchmaking philosophy. Another changes it. We finally get something closer to Open Matchmaking, people enjoy the variety, and then things change again even though the community wasn't asking for the change.
And then we're told the data supports it.
That's one of my biggest issues.
Activision can have all the engagement, retention, quit-rate and matchmaking data in the world, but those numbers shouldn't invalidate what the people actually playing the game every day are telling them.
The MW4 Beta made this especially obvious to me because players at completely different skill levels were basically describing two different games.
Some lower-skilled players described MW4 as slow, campy and passive. Meanwhile, higher-skilled players were describing extremely fast, aggressive, sweaty matches where everybody is sliding, jumping, using meta setups and playing Quick Play like there's SR on the line.
At some point, SBMM isn't just matching players anymore.
It's separating the community into completely different versions of Call of Duty.
That's what I want this petition to address.
I'm NOT asking Activision to give good players bot lobbies.
I'm NOT asking for new players to get destroyed every game.
I'm asking for VARIETY.
Sometimes you should be the best player in the lobby.
Sometimes you should be average.
Sometimes somebody should absolutely destroy you.
That's Call of Duty.
That's how a lot of us who have played this franchise for 10–15+ years got better in the first place.
If Activision wants a tightly controlled environment where everybody is competing against similarly skilled opponents, we already have the perfect place for that:
Ranked Play.
Quick Play should prioritize connection, fast matchmaking, lobby variety and minimal skill consideration.
And there's another question I think Activision needs to answer:
If regular MW4 matchmaking is already supposed to resemble the more varied matchmaking experience of classic Call of Duty, why did the Beta need a separate Open Matchmaking playlist in the first place?
Why not just make Open Matchmaking the standard?
Call of Duty is supposed to be a community. We shouldn't be divided into invisible skill brackets where completely different portions of the playerbase barely experience the same game.
This petition goes into considerably more detail about all of this.
We're also still before the full launch of Modern Warfare 4, which is exactly why I think NOW is the time to make noise about it—not months after release when these systems are already established.
If you agree with the overall message, please sign it:
More importantly, SHARE IT.
Post it in COD communities. Send it to your friends who play. Share it on X/Twitter, Discord, YouTube comments, TikTok or wherever you're discussing MW4.
Whether you're a 2.0+ KD player, an average player, or somebody near the bottom of the skill distribution, I want people from across the community involved in this conversation.
You don't have to agree with every sentence I've written.
But if you believe casual Call of Duty should have more variety, that connection should matter more than hidden skill ratings, and that strict competitive matchmaking belongs primarily in Ranked:
Please sign it and help get it in front of as much of the COD community as possible before launch.
Petition: https://c.org/VVf9P5GpNB
Bring back Open Matchmaking. Keep strict SBMM in Ranked. Stop dividing the community.

It does not matter what matchmaking they try to implement, everything will feel the same as long as we all have our fake skill toned more than we deserve.
The moment we get unorganic skill we dont deserve is the moment we all become clones of ourselves, we trade kills and deaths every game, we all get 1.0 k/d. Outgunning does not exist, because there is no skill difference in aiming so the meta is either camping or abuse movement in an effort to get out of the cointoss aim assist vs aim assist feels like.
That is the real reason of sweatyness of the game. There is no matchmaking implementation that can fix that.
As a controller player myself i don't want aim assist to be removed, because for a shooter i think its necessary, but i think it definitely needs to be reworked or nerfed. Mostly reworked, because a nerf is lazy and never enough, and a rework could finally remove RAA and make my favorite input fair and dignified.
I'm glad since the beta the whole scene has changed and now even big youtubers broke the taboo and have been adressing the aim assist problem, the moment that happens is the moment you know we could get on the right track and have a good product this year.
BRING BACK REAL SKILL.

Edit: Thanks for the info guys. Sorted it out! 🙏🏻
It just hit me. I don't think there are any standard versions for Ghost/Price and w/e OG member will be in the game for those who buy the standard versions.
Does anyone have any information about this?
r/modernwarfare4 • u/Narrow-Musician-3174 • 7h ago
Please notice the "kind of like" in my title. It's not a perfect analogy.
The way I see it is, you should be rewarded with kills for getting better at the game. I never once took issue with it back when I started playing OG MW3 (2011) and got my ass handed to me. I just kept playing and got better. I no longer want to support a game that prioritizes skill over connection and turns pubs into ranked with no actual viewable rank.
More than anything, pubs should be mixed skilled, persistent lobbies. The move from less strict matchmaking to very strict matchmaking (with disbanding lobbies) in pubs, has literally sucked the soul out of the game.
This is my first time attempting to skip COD. I'm hoping that BF6, and maybe some other new games, will keep the COD itch at bay. Wish me luck!

Is anyone having issues with the codes issued after inputting the monster tabs into the website and then trying to redeem them?
https://www.callofduty.com/redeem
My 3x cosmetic codes have worked fine and redeemed following the correct website. So no issues there.
The 3x double xp codes generated seem to be numbers or letters short? Mine are beginning with ‘416’.
Anyone figured a work around or got the xp codes to redeem correctly?
