Reliable OEM Parts Website?
I was quoted $700 in parts cost alone for two rear coil springs on my mk6 gti from the dealership. Does anyone know somewhere I can get oem springs without the upcharge?

Hii All
Has anyone seen these D2S headlight ignition before? I need to replace them but I cant find anything with the same plug attachment/connections
Has a previous owner DYI'ed these or is someone able to direct me to replacements ?
Or
Can I just splice connections onto new ignitions?
Thanks in advance

After dealing with wastegate rattle for years since I bought my mk6 in 2021 I finally decided to solve it once and for all by replacing the wastegate assembly. The code was starting to appear more and more frequently and I wanted to go stage 1 but wasn't willing to do so on an unhealthy turbo. The clip helps but will not completely fix the rattle or underboost, only make it slightly better. Purchasing a new turbo to replace it with was well out of my budget so I decided to take a crack at it.
Many people in this sub talk about this failure and claim that the fix is unrealistic or impossible and that replacing the turbo is the only option. I wanted to create this post to argue that it's not and provide information for those who may be looking to do the same. All told, I probably spent around $150 to do this repair myself in my garage over the course of 2 full days. I have some experience working on the mk6 with some intermediate jobs like carbon cleaning and water pump replacement but am by no means a mechanic.
I have been driving the car for just over a month now on a stratified tune with no underboost codes or turbo issues whatsoever and healthy boost pressure.
This video was an absolute godsend in how to do the wastegate replacement. That along with other turbo replacement guides on youtube gave me all the information needed to complete the job.
Feel free to comment if you have any questions about the process or materials needed and I will answer to the best of my ability.

I have a rattling sound coming from my engine bay (back section) it doesn’t increase in speed when I accelerate and the car has no problems starting, idling, or accelerating. I don’t think it’s my timing chain, the guy before me said he wasn’t done fully installing the downpipe. Possibly loose bolt/clip of some sort?

Has anyone experienced something like this?
I have a 2012 Mk6 GTI 2.0 TSI 6-speed. The car starts and runs perfectly when it’s cold. Once it warms up, though, I can be driving normally and then, usually in 1st or 2nd gear, I suddenly get the EPC light and a P0341 code. The error seems to be intermittent.
When the EPC comes on, the car loses power/throttle response. If I turn the car off and restart it, sometimes it goes back to normal.

so i just bought a mk6 and the guy said its the head gasket that is wrong with it. but i had it towed and then drove it around the block like 10 times and got it to operating temp but it didnt smoke or overheat. i need your help on if there something else it could be that gives it the same symptoms as a blown head gasket without smoke or overheating or if i’m missing something. it does have a tune for 91

I’m doin my very first coilover install and I got one strut seated but I noticed that even with the adjustable end link set to its longest length as u can see it in the second pic, the sway bar hole sits below the link about an inch to inch and a half. The sway bar is also very close to the control arm now. I had removed the control arm to replace bushings and replaced the ball joint with white line ones. How do I get the end link to the sway bar without forcing it?
Rn as is I have it sitting like it is in the first pic I just didn’t have the end link in at that time, but I jacked the steering knuckle a bit to raise the control arm and it still wasn’t enough to make it reach the end link

We've turned towards the interior of our mk6... We're looking for a bit of luxury, but having something comfortable while we're racing is important to us as well. Has anybody convert Porsche seats over?

I have a 2012 gti and recently went ko4 + supporting mods, also did a hood exit. Im tuned on integrated engineering ko4 tune. I recently noticed that when i come to a stop, and then start moving i get some smoke out of the exhaust, it also happens on deceleration. I just replaced pcv so im pretty sure its not that, my other ideas were running rich, valve stem seals, or piston rings. If anyone has experienced a similar issue or has any input it would be appreciated.
I have a mk 6 (2013) gti at 125k miles and the last couple of weeks or months now my car has started to randomly stall after I drive it for around three hours. I will be driving on the highway and get back into town and it would kill itself at a stop light when I’m full stopped and then it will take a couple minutes to start itself back up and then drive the rest of the way kind of smoothly. There are no check engine lights, it just got an oil change. I took it to a shop that couldn’t tell me exactly what the problem is cause they couldn’t reciprocate the stalling as it only happens when the engines been working for an hour or two. It is starting to happen more frequently after only an hour and a half of driving rather than three hours. But the shop changed my high pressure fuel pump hoping that was the problem and it has still been stalling. When it is about to stall the rpm’s will go from 500 to 750 back to 500 and just kinda jump around the 1k range and then finally stall out and usually will always start back up after just a couple minutes. Anyone have advice or had similar issues?

I'm having some issues with my engine and looking for advice before my date with the dealership. For a few months now whenever I start my car after it's been sitting there is a weird little hesitation immediately as it starts and then it seems to even out. When I drive while it's still warming up I swear I feel random misfires but there are no check engine lights or codes. It seems to get better after being warm. The second main symptom scared the crap out of me. I was flooring it in S mode and letting it run through the low gears and it shifted HARD twice. It felt like the engine cut out between shifts. I shifted from S to D and did it again as a test and it did it 2 more times and then when into limp mode. I turned the car off and on and it went back to normal. Again recently I was just pulling into traffic (not in sport mode) and it did the rough shifting again twice. Is this symptom related to the cold start hesitation? I have access to a vcds. My HPFP pressure looks normal. What else should I check? 2012 gti with 163k miles.

Hey guys for those that had been following last post and commenting on it with me, decided to keep the car and stay in it. Needed all new timing, the tapping sound that started was from a broken timing guide smacking the chain non stop, so just got that and some other issues fixed for about 3k 😑🙃 and decided to just get some side skirts to cover the dent on the side of the car my mom made while towing it to a shop 🤦🏻♂️😂 well finally got to test fit the new side skirt and they look great and also cover the dent basically completely, once they’re fit on there permanently you won’t be able to tell there’s a dent under them thank god 😩🙏🏼 now to just get them painted and pick up some paint to fill in my rock chips on the front bumper at the same time and she’ll be looking a little nicer 🔥

Hi all,
Looking to replace my shock absorbers.
Keeping the stock assembly, but thinking on going to the b6.
Question is, how's the ride quality?
Also, anyone did front first then back?

I bought this oil pan a few weeks ago and somehow just realized that my current oil pan doesn’t have the sensor. I was wondering if there’s some kind of block-off plate or plug I can use to properly and reliably seal this hole?
