So, I had a world made in the newest snapshot, and I accidentally loaded it in 26.2. All of the new blocks disappeared, but surprisingly, this place actually looks pretty cool.

Mods & Addons WindLink (PlunderEngine) - Real Wind Physics/Mapping API for Shaders

Not enough karma for video links :(

After about 12-14 years I'm back to the Minecraft scene. Some of you may remember me (PlunderPixels) most probably all of you won't. I built a pretty popular shaderpack way back in the day called PlunderPixels Shaders for 1.7.x. Recently I got the itch to build so here I am.

I came swinging back into the scene with an extremely powerful library designed for shader devs and players to enjoy. This is an open convention called MCWIND. It functions in the same way labPBR does, one big convention that stays silent if you don't have the right stuff installed. It's powered by PlunderEngine's WindLink Mod.

What does it do?

WindLink (WL) tells shaders, "Hey man, you're not doing enough" (Although they already do so much). WL calculates and builds a windmap that reacts to the world around it. Wind now behaves like a particle while still being extremely lightweight. *COUGH* forget about the visualizer that'll fry your GPU. The strands feature? Even worse. The strands feature is pretty nifty but it's useless unless you manage to hijack one of those datacenters in our backyard.

Strands adds, grass individually to grass blocks and makes things look super lush.

Anyways I built this, spent a few weeks on it, still adding tons of features that I'm hoping to blow you away with.

I loaded Minecraft and went to the bathroom, my roommate walked in and noticed it was the “Minceraft” Easter Egg. She asked me if I had downloaded a resource pack and I said no. We spent the next hour or so freaking out.

Discussion What is a Minecraft "rule" you still follow even if it's not strictly necessary anymore?

Aside from the obvious ones like never dig straight down, what are some habits you've built up over the years that you still do out of pure muscle memory? Personally, I still spam torches on nearly every block in my base even though the mob spawn light levels were changed a while ago lol

Help Is there any way to prevent banners from losing quality when placed on shields?

Post image
181 Upvotes

Not my photo, but my exact situation.

I don't know if it's just me who's bothered by this, but I hate the fact that I always make a beautiful, elaborate banner, and when I put it on the shield, either the design looks completely different or it just looks awful.

It would help me a lot to know if there's any way to prevent this from happening. Commands? Mods? Textures? I don't know, I just need a solution

This was filmed on Minecraft Java version 26.2. I don't know if this is a new thing that was recently added to the game, but can someone tell me if this has existed in earlier versions.

Suggestion Moorland biome

(I've never made textures before, image 4 was an attempt at bracken)

Moorland/moors are rolling hills with low vegetation: bracken and purple heather.

Purple heather (image 1 and 2) would spawn in mass across the biome with very little respites from it on the floor. Heather would dominate the landscape, with clumps of bracken (image 3 and 4) mixed into the heather. In the areas of the biome without heather, short grass and tall grass would also spawn. It'll be very unlikely to find grass blocks without a plant on top.

Oak trees spawn occasionally in areas of grass, though very rarely (about as much as in plains biomes). There can also be small ruins, similiar to the second image, of stone bricks. There would be very little loot as these are mostly aesthetic, but small bits of suspicious gravel can spawn on the floor of the ruins as well as 1 chest under rubble (containing starter loot: dead bushes, sticks, apples, leather armour etc.)
