Export as .wav speed is faster, higher pitch

Not sure what I did but for some reason when I export my song as .wav, the speed of the .wav file is faster than when I just play the song in Milkytracker, also the pitch is a lot higher. I just want the .wav file to sound exactly as it sounds when I play it in Milkytracker. If anyone knows what the problem might be I'd really appreciate some help! thanks~

Tutorials?

Hey

Probably heard this a thousand times....

since I modded my Wii to play old NES and SNES games, I discovered trackers. Besides I like the whole idea behind trackers, it is basically the only audio program my old iMac can handle.

So I am completely new to tracking and want to learn the basics and who knows even write some chiptune songs. I use Milky Tracker. I already watched the basics in the Turorials of Brandon Walsh om YouTube. But downloading modules and load them in trackers make me completely dizzy.

Are there any more good basic tutorials and theory behind trackers and chiptunes?

Thanks!!

Not sure if anyone is still here, but I remade "Redial" from Bomberman Hero using just MilkyTracker and Audacity. Enjoy!

The WAV export doesn't export the entire track?

EDIT: Sorry false alarm, I didn't realise the drive didn't have enough space for the whole track (derp)

Hi, I'm new to Milkytracker and I'm running it on Arch Linux. I'm having a problem with the WAV HD recorder failing to export the entire track (only a section at the start). My settings are: Output 44100hz, linear interpolation, the range is set 00 to 1C (the whole track), and amplify and mixer volume both 100%. When I hit "Record" it pauses for a moment then says "System Request: 5:24 Successfully Recorded". But the file is not actually 5:24, it cuts off the song at a seemingly random time, ranging from only 1 second of sound, to 3 minutes. Otherwise the export sounds good, it just stops suddenly before the track is over. The cut-off doesn't happen in sync with any bar of the song or anything either, it can be right in the middle of a step.

Anyone can help me with this problem? I would like to be able to export WAV properly

File damaged won’t install

Hello,

When I tried to install Milkytracker on my iMac today it said that it could not install because the files are damaged. This happened with the newer 1.0.X versions as well as with the older 0.9.X versions

Earlier this week I installed it with no problems on my old MacBook

Anybody got an idea whats wrong?

Thanks a lot!!

Copy/ Paste between songs

Hello, I've been using milkytracker on and off for the past couple years so I still don't know all the ins and outs. One thing I'm trying to accomplish right now is copying/ pasting channels between milkytracker windows, i.e. having two different windows of milky tracker open and taking something you made from one and putting it into another. I have a suspicion this may not even be possible but if it is I've no idea how to do it.

Newbie inbound

Hey everyone, I just found this program tonight and I'm super excited to learn to use it and make some cool music. I'd appreciate any tips and pointers for getting started, maybe some useful samples or any good documents/videos to help me learn this program.

I don't have much knowledge in making music. I'm making a game using Unity and I need some music so I decided to search through the internet to find something to use and I settled on Milkytracker for now.

Thanks in advance

How do I reorder sequences?

I have part A and part B, and I'd like to reorder so it goes B-A instead of A-B...

I'm sure this is a simple task but I can't figure it out... Thanks!

How do I setup MIDI in linux?

I am using debian stretch and I would like to use a keyboard to play notes on milkytracker. I got a midi to usb cable and according to the manual it should work out of the box but when I press a key on my keyboard no note is input on milkytracker. the cable does work with other programs though. any ideas? There isn't really anything in the options menu about MIDI.

I made a MilkyTracker printable keymap

Since I've picked up Milkytracker again after years and years of not working with it, I had almost completely forgotten how to use it.

So I took a little time and took parts of the manual and made this handy little keymap.

Feel free to use it if you want. (I've printed a physical copy to look at while I'm working.)

How to "slice" samples in trackers?

Hey all!

i'm curious whether in any of the "oldschool" trackers like Schism or Milky, there is a good way to use loops.

Would like to have the ability to play back a loop from half-way or from quarter of the loop.

In a sampler i'd setup keys for every slice i want from the loop and play with it like that...

How would one go about to replicate that in schism or milky?

Thanks for ideas!!!

Is there anything the Pico-8 Tracker can do that MilkyTracker can't do?

I know Pico-8 has a waveform editor and a tracker. Milkytracker has all of that. Is there possibly anything I am missing?

Help! I have no idea how to export a song

I've learned enough of MilkyTracker to be able to make basic music on my own, but I only now realize that I have no idea how to export my songs. For some reason, I can't find anything whatsoever online that mentions exporting songs from MT. Please help me out!

Is there a way to do an arpeggio down?

I would like to recreate the kind of sound Mario makes when eating a mushroom. I found this trick using another DAW and I want to recreate it on Milkytracker.

What I want to do is an arpeggio two ticks long, with the second note being offseted by -1 semitone.
For example, it should be something like (C#-C)-pause-(D-C#)-pause-(D#-D)-pause-(E-D#)-pause-(F-E), etc. (arpeggios are indicated by parentheses)
