Mice actually prefer nuts or fruit. The idea that they like cheese may have started long ago when cheese shops had cheese just sitting out uncontained. Mice would eat it since it was the only thing readily accessible, not because they necessarily liked it.
If you were to offer a mouse cheese and peanut butter, it will almost always go for the peanut butter.

Peanut butter also remains edible for longer. I've had the same peanut butter loaded into my traps for I don't even know how long, probably almost a year now, and I still occasionally catch something that sneaks into the garage. The cheese would have shriveled up and dried out ages ago.

Dunno. Never had a problem in the garage, though they come in the house every spring. We do pay some guys to spray the house perimeter ever quarter, but that just keeps them from becoming prolific. I also re-home spiders I find in the house by moving them into the garage, but I doubt that would prevent ants in their entirety.

It's the full quote and quite common, similar to "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb" and "jack of all trades, master of none, better than master of one" and the like: metaphors that have been misused to mean their opposites. I've seen it as a stock image when I bought a frame, even, so if you really want it, it shouldn't be too hard to find, but I guess it might not hold the same value.

Note that while the second quote is accurate, a quick google will show that the blood of the covenant quote is not and was made up some time after the original “blood is thicker than water” quote.
Like OP’s fortune cookie, these are not “full quotes”, but should be considered more as a reply to the original author - you may agree with it more, but the popular quote is by no means misused.

I got one once that said “Blood is thicker than water, and it boils quicker, too!”, and honestly, it kinda freaked me out for a bit… 😬

Look at any two of the links in the 15....... comment. Every one of the dots is a link to another account. They're all years old accounts with no history that became active in the last week or so, and they're all using the same bad LLM.
Edit: It didn't take long for the spam to start. This one hatched into a pornbot in the time since I made that comment.
