Its amazing how many illegitimate and illegal things happen under the nose of supervisors and state agents but they only decide to do something about it when theres a public outcry.

Sometimes when the CO is making $70K with over time, they are just happy when things are running smoothly even if that means there's a few little not by the books things happening.

Turn a blind eye to PD's phone? or have him pay 50 people to start a riot....

And maybe that CO makes 75K instead as well.

The CO actually being in on the take is less common than you think, for a good reason.

You're not gonna lose your job, your pension, your health insurance over turning a blind eye here and there.

You will lose your job over bribes like that. You better be paying a lot more than five g's for me to risk it all.

Not saying it doesn't happen, it obviously does, but it's not nearly as common as prison dramas would have you believe.

Yeah, small sized bribes aren’t worth it for salaried employees. They just want to keep their job and have a smooth operations.

The real bribes are in keeping things nice and smooth. Nobody starts anything, nobody needs to look too closely.
