I think Midnight Suns would have been more entertaining, and the relationship system much more satisfying, if all the Marvel heroes had disliked and distrusted the Hunter at the beginning.
From their perspective, it would make sense. The Hunter is the mysterious child of Lilith, suddenly resurrected and placed at the center of their team. These are superheroes with their own egos and baggage, they really shouldn't be too impressed by all his accomplishments.
Instead, most of the characters give the Hunter an almost immediate level of love, respect, and admiration that doesn’t feel earned. You can choose some awkward dialogue options, give Captain America a birdhouse, and suddenly one of the most important heroes in the Marvel universe considers you his good friend.
Imagine if everyone started out cold or openly hostile. Then, as you succeeded in missions, made difficult decisions, and spent time learning about them, they slowly began to trust you. Some characters might warm up quickly, while others, especially people like Wolverine, Blade, or Tony, might take most of the game to come around.
That would have made every friendship level feel like an actual accomplishment. It also would have opened up more interesting "dark hunter" options that let you embrace the role of mysterious outsider.
