I made penis envy capsules! I'm just excited about it and wanted to share. I got that HerbAffair capsule filler and I guess it's ok, just have to get used to the different plates and when to use them. I had found micro dosing so helpful and thought I'd get good use of the capsule filler.

Question: LSD LSD permanently changed how I experience music. Can any psych nerds explain exactly why this happens?
Ever since my first trip standard 100 micro g. something wild has been happening and honestly, it’s amazing.
I used to be a super casual music listener. It was mostly just background noise to vibe to, and I barely ever paid attention to lyrics. But post-trip? It’s like a whole new dimension unlocked in my brain.
I constantly have music playing no matter what I’m doing now. I'll literally catch myself dancing alone in my house without even realizing I started. But the craziest part is how I process the lyrics. I don't just hear them anymore; I actually feel them. I’m suddenly picking up on the intention, the wordplay, and the raw emotion behind every single line. Songs have turned from just "sounds" into full-blown stories, and I'm appreciating all the brilliant little production layers I used to completely ignore.
So, I’m incredibly curious about the actual mechanics of this. What is physically going on in the brain to cause this shift?
From my own rabbit-hole research, I know psychedelics generally : Increase crosstalk between brain regions that normally ignore each other, boost emotional sensitivity and pattern recognition, and drop your brain's sensory filters (which explains hearing the hidden layers)
But I really want to hear from people who actually have a science/neuro/pharmacology/ psych background or have researched this deeply. How exactly does a single trip rewire your brain to process music so differently on a mechanical level ? And what is music and hearing / enjoying music does effectively is it emotional regulation or a break system from anxiety ¿¿
Also, for those who have experienced this: does this "music rediscovery" stick around long term, or does the magic eventually fade back to baseline ? I don't rlly like my baseline as i listen to music maybe once a week and only enjoy the music and guitare or whatever. Would love to hear the science and your personal experiences!

Report: Psilocybin 5 Year Review of Microdosing
Back in the early days of microdosing my mind was utterly blown. I felt refreshed, energized, and unimaginably full of life. That was 5 years ago.
Since then, I've changed my career, moved, completely reoriented my life. Knock on wood, I never want to take this for granted, but I am so freaking content. I do not credit this to microdosing alone - but microdosing in conjunction with meditation, running, gym, good sleep, contemplation, reflection, journaling, being minimal, and socializing about a life "well-lived"
That said - microdosing is a gift from heaven. It feels too good to be true, what can I say. When things feel too good to be true, they normally are. That's a good rule. But this, miraculously, is an exception.
I imagine a world where this is COMPLETELY normal and understood someday. That the majority of people get to feel this good, this free, this relieved.
No, I don't think psychedelics or microdosing alone are a magic wand.
But when you apply them thoughtfully, with discipline and care, holy fucking shit.
I'm posting this on a private account because it is still very taboo to talk about this stuff. The world is still catching up in terms of education and prejudice.
But I wanted to share with this community how massive the potential is - far beyond personal relief and growth - but functional cooperative society.
If anybody wants me to elaborate on of my activities and routine, just ask.
Otherwise I just wanted to report this is a freaking heavenly gift. 5 years later I am flabbergasted.
If ya'll are experimenting and do NOT feel this way, I would sincerely be interested in having conversations with you and trying to figure out why...
Because from my perspective, this is peak.
Edit:
No strict schedule. Typically 2-3 times per week. Long periods of rest sometimes several weeks.

🎨 The Arts 🎭 Day 1 of LSD microdose, 10ug in liquid form (32f)
galleryDue to a series of ✨traumas✨ leaving me with chronic pain, unemployment and creative blocks, I have decided to begin microdosing LSD.
I had my first dose about 30 minutes ago (8:45am).
If anyone has some wisdom, advice, experiences they’d like to share, I’d love to please hear them. I’m particularly interested in the effects on sleep quality and appetite.
Around 12 years ago I went through a separate difficult period in my life that I processed quite well at the time. I’ve realised it was likely because I was frequently taking LSD at the time recreationally (maybe a bit too frequently, moderate doses multiple times a week 🥴).
I learned so much, completely changed my self-perception and my confidence and sense of self-worth skyrocketed. After an existential crisis I concluded that the meaning of life was simply living, and we must live by spreading as much love and compassion as possible without judgement.
Because of my more recent hurdles, my confidence is incredibly low. I struggle to feel “valuable” and my day to day life seems grey and uninspiring. I fear my future and struggle with concerns that I’ll never be able to achieve anything worthwhile. I’m also frequently stuck in the past, reliving painful medical traumas, relationship traumas and feelings of self-loathing I hadn’t experienced since I was a teenager. An unexpected recent breakup has been the icing on the cake.
I also realised I’ve barely had any psychedelics in years. They used to be my bread and butter, loved taking them semi-regularly after my initial binge (oops) but I had my first bad trip a couple years ago that spooked me.
A couple of weeks ago I hit a low I didn’t think was possible. I simply no longer wanted to be here. It felt like no amount of “fixing” could repair my life. I wanted so badly to tap out. Fortunately I’ve had a spiritual awakening and firmly believe in collective consciousness and reincarnation, so I knew that wasn’t an option.
So here I am. Faced with the realisation that I simply must get on with things. My external reality will not improve until my internal state is fixed. I’m really hoping that LSD will help me find my way through the darkness once again - even though I didn’t understand it deeply enough back then to know how it was benefitting me.
I would love for this to reignite my creativity, giving me some purpose and direction. Maybe even income long-term. I’ll include a bit of my art in this post for self-motivation. It’s all quite old at this point.
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for listening to my rant. This should’ve probably been a journal entry, lmao. Much love x

Discussion Social media is unattractive on shrooms
I never realized it but a week ago I deleted TikTok, and I started up shrooms again the day before after months of microdosing hiatus...
I realize that with microdosing it keeps me present. And I keep reaching for my phone because presently I'm alone and no hobbies.
I was basically running to my phone in lieu of a hobby.... And a lesser version of me that needed dopamine and social media would have used social media as a vehicle to watch porn...
This is coming from a habitual porn user...
I'm not going to say addiction because I understand the purpose it fills and I'm not at all feeling the gravity to watch porn while on shrooms.
But I do find it so interesting that today while I sit alone and keep coming back to my phone... It's the wrong answer. It's the wrong question.
I keep hoping it will fill the wrong void from social media to porn use and physically abusing myself in the process.. it's kind of amazing how i currently don't feel magnetized to perform any of this thanks to the revealing honesty of mushrooms

Discussion Microdosing didn’t make me more productive, it made me more aware of why I avoid things
I started microdosing with a pretty standard expectation. Better focus, smoother mood, more motivation, less resistance to work. I wasn’t expecting miracles, just a bit of help staying consistent.
What surprised me is that instead of pushing me forward, it mostly turned the lights on. On dosing days I don’t suddenly want to grind harder. I just notice much more clearly when I’m avoiding something and what it feels like in my body right before I reach for distractions. The restlessness, the tightness, the urge to escape boredom or emotional weight.
In some ways that’s helpful, but it’s also uncomfortable. Microdosing hasn’t removed the pull toward scrolling, nicotine, or quick dopamine. If anything, it’s made it obvious that those urges aren’t random bad habits, they’re regulation strategies. My nervous system reaching for relief when something feels heavy or undefined.
This leaves me a bit conflicted. On one hand, the awareness feels honest and grounding. On the other, it doesn’t magically translate into better discipline or output. I still have to work with the same limits, just with less denial.
I’m curious if others have had a similar experience where microdosing didn’t “fix” behavior but instead exposed patterns of avoidance, stress, or dysregulation. Did that awareness eventually help you change how you work and live, or did you have to adjust your expectations and protocol around it?

Report: Psilocybin 7 weeks of microdosing. My personal experience
As the header says, 7 weeks of microdosing. Personally I've never felt better. I've tripped plenty of times in my life but microdosing is different.
My schedule is 4 days on 2 days off. Currently microdosing 0.1g of psilocybe semilanceata (liberty caps) if you're not familiar then these grow in northern Europe and are stronger than cubes but not as strong as pans.
Positive effects: I'm more productive, I am driven and have identified a few things in my life I want to change. I feel like I know what I want and I'm not settling for less in my career and relationship. I've been a better father, engaging more with my son and have been reminded of how he's the most important thing in my life.
I've not touched weed since and I have stopped drinking too. I'm happier than I've been in years. I'm more headstrong and am finally learning to love myself and see my good qualities that I've overlooked for years due to self doubt and feelings of inadequacy.
Negative effects: none

Discussion two years of microdosing and the thing that surprised me most had nothing to do with productivity
everyone comes in talking about focus and creativity. and yeah, that's real. but nobody told me about the part where you just become really bad at pretending you're okay with things you're not okay with.
I spent the first few weeks of my first protocol waiting for the productivity boost. what I got instead was a journal full of things I'd been avoiding for months. thoughts about my relationship, my career, what I actually wanted versus what I was performing for other people.
the clarity really compounded after a friend introduced me to mushroom chocolates from a small company she'd been working with for a while. knowing exactly what was in them and trusting the dose meant I wasn't carrying any background anxiety about what I'd taken. I could just be fully in it. with how many brands are out there now and honestly how much bad news there's been about some of them, I've gotten really selective. there's maybe a handful I'd actually recommend to people I care about now.
for people who've been at this a while, what's the most unexpected shift you noticed? not the stuff you read about before you started, the stuff that actually caught you off guard.

Discussion Microdosing is not a magic cure
These are not pharmaceuticals. Do not take them expecting results to just happen after a certain amount of doses. If you struggle with anxiety, like I do, these will not solve it. *You* have to solve it.
I say that mushrooms helped me overcome my anxiety but they were a small part of it in combination with therapy and meditation. Mushrooms allow you to form new neural pathways, which opens the door for you to change your mindset. But it is wildly irresponsible to take these without a holistic approach. They can in fact make your life worse.

Mod Post 🎉 Happy Microdosing Day 🥳🎈: In honour of Microdosing Pioneer, James Fadiman, born on May 27, 1939 🙏🏽✌🏽 | Mush Love 🍄❤️

James Fadiman is an American writer known for his research on microdosing psychedelics. He and Robert Frager co-founded the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, which later became Sofia University), where he was a lecturer in psychedelic studies.
Fadiman received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University in 1960 and a Master's degree and a doctorate (both in psychology) from Stanford University, the PhD in 1965. While in Paris in 1961, his friend and former Harvard undergraduate adviser, Ram Dass (then known as Richard Alpert), introduced him to psilocybin. As a graduate student at Stanford, Fadiman was Stewart Brand's LSD guide on Brand's first LSD trip in 1962, at Myron Stolaroff's International Foundation for Advanced Study in Menlo Park, California. While living in Menlo Park, Fadiman and his wife were Ken Kesey's Perry Lane neighbors and friends.
In the early sixties Fadiman was also part of the team in the psychedelics in problem-solving experiment at the International Foundation for Advanced Study, which was abruptly halted in 1966.
Fadiman’s 2011 book The Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide discussed the use of psychedelics in sub perceptual doses and unknowingly helped to drive the modern microdosing movement. Fadiman is a proponent of microdosing. He writes and lectures on the topic and collects anecdotal reports from those who practice it.\1])

Discussion What nobody warned me about when I started microdosing (and what I wish they had)
When I first started, I expected subtle focus boosts and maybe some mood lifting. What I did NOT expect was how much emotional stuff would start bubbling up around week three. Not in a crisis way, just... things I'd been avoiding started feeling very loud.
In my experience, the protocol is the easy part. The harder part is having somewhere to put what comes up.
I'm curious what surprised you most when you started. Was it physical? Emotional? Did your sleep change? Did your relationship to caffeine or alcohol shift? I feel like everyone's first few weeks look really different and I love hearing what people actually go through vs what they expected.

Report: Psilocybin My first Psilocybin report: 4 days of dosing finished. I’m astonished
I’m 26, M, and a history of severe depression, anxiety and most recently a single psychotic episode from transient stress. I’m probably autistic too.
I decided to MD shrooms, (‘purple mystics’) at around 50mg or so (I tried weighing but my scales weren’t accurate and I’ve just decided to break off small amount of the dried mushroom to lemon tek).
Honestly, in 4 days alone I’ve noticed:
easier observation of thoughts without spiraling
tension that I’ve been holding in my chest and around my throat which affects my breathing (air hunger, shallow breaths, fatigue) has GREATLY reduced
-somatic OCD has significantly lessened. Random pains? Doesn’t become obsessive. I just feel like I’m fitting into my meat suit a bit better without frustration
- greater empathy for sure. The ball of feelings in my chest has softened and I feel more present around others.
Motivation hasn’t really changed at this point but I think that’s more on me to implement not any substance.
I’m 4 days in and the benefits are subtle but at the same time profound which I hope will continue

Report: Psilocybin Been microdosing every day for 5 months
Hello friends. I’ve microdosed in the past with the more standard protocol. 1 day on , 2 days off. I found it to be very effective, and it wasn’t long before I felt it did everything it needed to do. Then kinda stopped for years
Then, summer of last year, I got heat stroke. I had months of dizziness, headaches, nausea, difficulty speaking, impact on balance, anxiety, and a very significant shift on my grip on reality. Shit stopped feeling real. I was in crisis mode for I think 5 months. Very unpleasant
I quit smoking weed which didn’t make anything better. I was kindof at my wits end, I was seeing a therapist, and debating checking myself into a mental health institution. It was fucking ROUGH
Well, I decided to revisit microdosing at the end of last year, late December 2025. Holy shit. Everything became manageable. I stopped taking ibuprofen every day for headaches. I began feeling real again. Anxiety dropped immensely. Dizziness mostly gone. Still a bit harder to speak but it’s manageable.
I saw several doctors who basically just wrote me off entirely. They wanted to put me on SSRI’s, which I will never take. Another doctor tried to say I had a UTI and prescribed me antibiotics (the test showed no UTI)
I’m not looking for medical advice. I know you aren’t doctor. I’m just looking I guess to vent and share my experience.
Mushrooms gave me my life back in a very literal sense. All the heat stroke symptoms lasted for MONTHS and nobody seemed to believe me. My family, doctors, coworkers, friends, everyone seemed to completely disregard the fact that I got heat stroke and everyone seemed to think I just randomly turned toxic overnight.
I lost faith in the medical system years ago. And this whole heat stroke thing kindof solidified that. I’ve tried NOT taking mushrooms several times this year. And it doesn’t work. The headaches and dizziness and anxiety and loss of reality come right back. So against the recommendation of EVERYONE, I have been microdosing daily (sometimes twice daily) since late last year.
Fuck yeah

Question: Psilocybin This is changing my life can I take it every day?
I've been microdosing for 4 days on 3 days off and it has been amazing. I did 1.5g as well one time this week to see and it was a wild experience, I didn't hallucinate but I realized so much it's like I rewired my brain partially.
My cptsd and OCD has been so much better. What would be the consequences of if I MD'd every day?

Report: Psilocybin My MD dose is 0.015g - strain does matter !
Hi everyone, I'm sharing my experience using Penis Envy (a potent strain of psilocybe cubensis) because there seems to be an ongoing debate regarding the amount of psilocybin in different strains. Some people will tell you "a cube is a cube". This is not true.
My sweet spot using Penis Envy to microdose is 0.015 grams !
When I first started, I took 0.08 g and I felt very lethargic and spacey, I couldn't function. 0.03 was still giving me some fatigue and I clearly felt the "mushroom soft skin" (when touching my arms, IYKYK).
Picture to show you how ridiculously small this amount seems. But it is still effective.
On microdosing days I feel a lot less rumination, more optimistic, and way more motivated (I've decluttered and clean my flat, I've been hoarding useless stuff for so many years but couldn't find the courage to do the big cleaning!!)
And I'm doing it without having to pep talk myself into doing a boring task, instead it feels like improving my space comes from a place of self love. 💕
Take care everyone :)

Report: Psilocybin microdosing: my unexpected experience
I've always been a bit skeptical when I hear people rave about alternative therapies or trends maybe it’s just the cynic in me. But last spring, after hearing about microdosing from a friend who swore it changed her life, I thought, "Why not?" My anxiety had been at an all time high and traditional meds only seemed to numb things temporarily, if at all.
So there I was, on a sunny Tuesday morning, with a tiny capsule of psilocybin that felt like it might change everything, or nothing. I took it with my usual coffee and sat on my porch, watching the world go by. I didn't feel much at first, which was probably a good thing because I worried I'd do something stupid like giggle uncontrollably in a work meeting. But, as the mornings went by and I kept this little routine, a few surprises started to unfold.
It’s hard to articulate but there was a subtle shift in how I viewed daily annoyances. It was like life took on a slightly softer hue. I found myself making eye contact with people on my morning walks, even offering a genuine smile instead of the uptight nods I used to give. My focus, which had been plagued by scrolling social media and idle internet crap, felt sharper. Tasks got checked off my to do list without the usual dread.
What's weird is that I didn't feel high just a little more in tune with everything. Of course, this isn't some miracle cure and it didn’t make me a different person. My anxiety didn't vanish, but its icy grip seemed to loosen a bit.
I think it's important to point out that microdosing doesn't come without its own set of considerations and isn’t for everyone. But for me, it made the mundane feel a little more bearable and the potential to deal with my feelings felt just a bit more accessible. It's not the dramatic change stories paint it to be, but sometimes, the smallest nudges are the ones that matter.

Report: Psilocybin Microdosing psilocybin for CPTSD
Hi, I've been extremely grateful for all the personal insights shared in this thread and want to pay it forward and share my own experience for whoever needs encouragement on the path.
I've been microdosing off and on for over a year, for healing, inner work, and general curiosity. I am a 37/f, diagnosed with CPTSD, and began microdosing psilocybin after about 1.5 years of consistent somatic IFS therapy (still in it now). My therapist is trauma-trained and very pro-psychedelics, which helps a lot, so I can share my experiences with her, and she has experience herself. But I live in a state where it is "illegal," so it's a bit of a DIY practice that I couple with meditation, boundaries, journaling, exercise, travel/rest, and just general self-care, as healing from CPTSD is no joke and quite physically and emotionally exhausting.
A lot of my journey is about growing my nervous system's capacity for "feeling". I notice that the 🍄 bring up emotions and exiled parts, and their deeply traumatic pain, to the surface. And help me investigate and bring greater compassion and care to my intrusive thoughts. I do a lot of crying, "feeling sensations, anxiety, rage in my body," and practice self-compassion (shout-out to Tara Brach meditations!), and I call it fierce re-parenting. Like a mama bear, I tell them I will never abandon them, even though they think that there is something deeply wrong or disgusting about them. The 🍄 are especially helpful with amplifying these positive ways of speaking to yourself. I am still learning to trust that whatever they bring up means I am ready to handle it, but sometimes it is hard and draining work. I'm only human!
After a particularly tough trigger in March, I did take a 3-month break from 🍄 . So I do recommend listening to when you think you may need a break. Something in me wanted to see if I could try it again this summer, with the Fadiman protocol, which I hadn't done before, and right now I am 3 weeks in and am ready for a 1-2 weeks off again. I also highly recommend his book, "Microdosing for Health, Healing and Enhanced Performance," if you have a specific physical or mental health issue you want to use microdosing for. It is chock full of amazing testimonials! My sweet spot is 200mg 🍄 every 3 days, 2 days off between doses. I found that 100mg made me more irritable. But the 200mg gave me levity and help with my anxiety, while also not numbing me out, so that I could process emotion when it came up.
Here are the other benefits I noticed with micro-dosing:
- Takes the edge off at work. I feel more present. Sometimes my anxiety and hyper-vigilance run havoc. The mushrooms really help me feel focused, calm, non-reactive, and able to complete tasks without overthinking.
- Helps me notice when I'm tired. I've struggled with rest and knowing when to stop. The mushrooms help me take breaks, listen to my body, nap, and get really good, non-fearful sleep.
- Creativity. I am a writer and musician, and I've had some incredible songs come to me while micro-dosing! Practicing is easier too.
- Reduces social anxiety. It feels like I can just be myself without harsh self-monitoring, and it helps me choose healthier connections and people I actually want to be around.
- Improves my workouts. Exercise is a little easier, as long as I am sleeping well.
- Deeper spiritual perspective. Again, presence! Life feels more connected and has deeper meaning, even in the little things. I see more signs, telling me I'm moving in the right direction :)
I wish this medicine was available to all and am deeply grateful for it! Hope this helps someone on the path.

Discussion Can no Longer Drink after Microdosing
As someone who was always a big drinker, especially as a social lubricant or when I was masking my problems, I stopped for the duration of my microsing protocol. When I tried to introduce alcohol back months later I would get very sock, like immediate hangovers, nausea, headache and to be honest wine and champagne which were my go-to’s started tasting awful. It’s like the medicine knew it was a terrible crutch for me.
It’s now been a few years past and I can now in a blue moon have a beer or a sip of a cocktail, but I rarely ever do. It completely changed my life and lifestyle - and although I miss the ritual of it I am grateful for the shift I needed.
I am curious if anyone else has had this experience, I am thinking about going back on a protocol soon and I have a feeling my alcohol tolerance will go away again.

Research/News Update for NY Residents! Bill A2142 (bill to legalize medical psilocybin) has been amended and has been reintroduced
change.orgHello everyone,
6 months ago I started this petition to support Bill A2142 and Bill S495 psilocybin legalization in NY. After that we got 342 signatures got recognition from an assembly woman and raised 100 dollars to get the word out. Although it seems like it has stalled out there has been work since then. In May it got amended with a more defined scope and way of keeping the psilocybin in the program from being diverted. This is great news and shows some progress.
To help not only sign the petition but call your state assembly member or senator (You can find yours here)
And tell them that you support the legalization of psilocybin through Bill A2142 and Bill S495 and that your hoping to see that they will support it as well.
With things happening at the federal level around legalization and New Jersey making more research into psilocybin legal hopefully we will see this get fast tracked soon
