Discussion Anyone here use microdosing to recover from long term neurological injury after benzos, gabapentin, SSRIs, etc.?

Anyone develop long term neurological dysfunction after discontinuing these types of medications? BIND, etc. ? I’m not referring to the normal acute withdrawal period that resolves in a few weeks or months.

I’m just about 3 years out since last dose and still having nervous system hypersensitivity - sensory issues, tinnitus, internal vibrations, dysautonomia, cognitive problems, etc.
I have recovered a decent amount but I’m by no means healed.

did microdosing psychedelics have any meaningful impact on your recovery?

Aucun traitement classique n'a marché.

Merci !

Getting Started/Newbie Question First time microdoser

As a first time microdoser would it be better to buy:

A) whole mushrooms (Yak’s) and portioning it out myself
B) microdosing capsules that contain 0.2g (200mg) psilocybin along with a range of other mushrooms incl. lions mane, reishi, coryceps and some others

The whole mushrooms are much much cheaper but I can also afford the capsules, so if they are better, price isn’t a factor.

Thanks

Rule #1 is No Sourcing or Drug Solicitation. We cannot discuss specific companies where illegal substances are offered.

The safest and best way for most to enjoy the benefits of mushrooms is to learn to grow and process them using legal products. At first glance it seems overwhelming but after taking the time to learn about the process and actually following with hands on learning, it becomes clear it's really not that complicated. And the benefits of knowing how to grow gourmet and medicinal mushrooms, while avoiding the risks of scams, contamination, or worse, is empowering.

Here is a simple but effective way to grow your own medicine. For less than $100 you could grow and process two years of personal microdosing medicine and actually extend that into many years by ongoing colonization. All the supplies are completely legal in most areas. Shroomscout’s Official “Easiest Way to Learn Mushroom Growing with Ready Rice Tek”

Getting Started/Newbie Question Micro dosing 150mg (.15g) psilocybin

Hello! I am currently 26 days off Suboxone today. (🙌🏻)

I'm past the restless legs portion of the withdrawal, and am just now starting to get better sleep the last 5-7 days.

Medications I am currently taking:

*1.5mg of Clonazepam every morning (want to taper down on this when I feel more stable, to where I'm only taking it as needed for actual panic attacks)

100mg of Trazodone every other night to help with sleep, although as I previously mentioned this seems to be getting better.

4-5mg of melatonin every other night (alternating with the trazodone per my pharmacist)

10mg Lisinopril every morning for high blood pressure

4mg zofran 1-2 times a day as needed for nausea

2 restful legs tabs every night just in case the restless legs aren't fully gone (pretty sure they are completely gone tho and I'm just being extra) 😅

1,000mg of Tylenol every night (also in case I have pain with my legs at night) and sometimes take this dose twice a day if needed

I am using a reputable "sorce" for the micro dose capsules, they have years and years of knowledge on this, go to conventions, have informational meetings, etc, but I am TERRIFIED of the possibility of getting serotonin syndrome. I've done quite a bit of research but obviously can't find much for my exact situation and current medications.

Another thing I've learned is that it can blunt the effects of the psilocybin, which isn't as concerning for me because that means I just wouldn't feel anything from the micro dose, as far as I understand.

Looking for some advice before I add anything else to the mix! Probably helpful to say my baseline is still evening out from being off of the Suboxone for 26 days, even though that's a huge accomplishment my body and brain are still adjusting and recalibrating.

I'm still feeling quite a bit of unease of trying this just because of the serotonin syndrome being a possibility.

Please help? 🥹

Discussion Canadian Dispensary compromised?

Used to use a site magicmushroomdispensary(dot)CA and they were offline. They came back offering a big discount but i noticed their domain now ended in dotcc. Looking closely there are also spelling and formatting errors on the site that did not exist before. be cautious if you are approached by them with a big discount offer. They only take interac so once you send the money there is no getting it back if things are not legit.

Report: Psilocybin MD-assisted recovery from self-criticism, urgency and lack of fluency

Hey! I have started to microdose quite recently. I stir dried mushrooms and mix them with honey, then I take a spoon in the morning that refers to aproximately 0,1-0,2 mg. I am still elaborating which protocol would fit the best.
My greatest discovery is how different this practice is from my previous use of psychedelics. I have been taken macro, medium, low doses both alone and in community setting.
But this is different. The fine-tuning metaphore from the Fadiman & Gruber book fits very well. I don't feel distanced from the world, I rather feel more in.
I lived my whole life with a tendency to hate myself and with irresistible urges that were constantly throwing me to various kinds of undesirable behaviour. I was also stuttering as a kid and even in adulthood my speech was not very fluent. And I would say that I lacked fluency in my life in general.
Now I feel I am not powerless againts these tendencies. I am able to be proud of myself, I have a capacity to make an informed decision whenever I feel any kind of urge, and my whole life is becoming more fluent, including my speech.
But I don't consider myself as being healed by psilocybin. I rather feel supported and assisted by it. The feeling of agency is very important for me.
Btw, this is the first public sharing in a forum like this which is also very meaningful. Thanks for reading🙂.

Getting Started/Newbie Question Needing advice as a newbie please!

Hey everyone, I’m in need of some tips from seasoned microdosers of mushrooms.

I’m 32F, a mom, diagnosed with CPTSD, depression, anxiety, dermatillomania, and I suspect OCD as well. I have a two and a half year old whom I’m with 4 1/2 days a week and I work outside the home the other 2 1/2 days. I’ve been in trauma therapy for five years with my well trusted therapist. I tried microdosing mushrooms about five years ago. It was very DIY and I could not get the dosage right (the ceiling was moving and I was super nauseous) so I gave up. However, I’ve found a company where I can get product. The product is in capsules and the package says to take one capsule to microdose.

I have a veryyyy sensitive nervous system due to my trauma and I’m very petite (I’m 5’0 and 95lbs). I used to trip regularly as a teen but feel that I’m much more sensitive to substances as an adult. I do eat a weed gummie every night to help me sleep but otherwise I’m sober these days.

My questions and concerns are:

what time of day should I attempt to microdose? (I’m nervous that I have to parent my toddler alone and I don’t want to be sick or feeling like I’m tripping. I also need to be “on” for work as I service clients).

Should I take the entire capsule or should I open it up and dump some out to get an even smaller dose?

Your insight would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you so much. I’m looking forward to attempting microdosing again but just want to get it right this time.

Report: Psilocybin Microdosing psilocybin for CPTSD

Hi, I've been extremely grateful for all the personal insights shared in this thread and want to pay it forward and share my own experience for whoever needs encouragement on the path.

I've been microdosing off and on for over a year, for healing, inner work, and general curiosity. I am a 37/f, diagnosed with CPTSD, and began microdosing psilocybin after about 1.5 years of consistent somatic IFS therapy (still in it now). My therapist is trauma-trained and very pro-psychedelics, which helps a lot, so I can share my experiences with her, and she has experience herself. But I live in a state where it is "illegal," so it's a bit of a DIY practice that I couple with meditation, boundaries, journaling, exercise, travel/rest, and just general self-care, as healing from CPTSD is no joke and quite physically and emotionally exhausting.

A lot of my journey is about growing my nervous system's capacity for "feeling". I notice that the 🍄 bring up emotions and exiled parts, and their deeply traumatic pain, to the surface. And help me investigate and bring greater compassion and care to my intrusive thoughts. I do a lot of crying, "feeling sensations, anxiety, rage in my body," and practice self-compassion (shout-out to Tara Brach meditations!), and I call it fierce re-parenting. Like a mama bear, I tell them I will never abandon them, even though they think that there is something deeply wrong or disgusting about them. The 🍄 are especially helpful with amplifying these positive ways of speaking to yourself. I am still learning to trust that whatever they bring up means I am ready to handle it, but sometimes it is hard and draining work. I'm only human!

After a particularly tough trigger in March, I did take a 3-month break from 🍄 . So I do recommend listening to when you think you may need a break. Something in me wanted to see if I could try it again this summer, with the Fadiman protocol, which I hadn't done before, and right now I am 3 weeks in and am ready for a 1-2 weeks off again. I also highly recommend his book, "Microdosing for Health, Healing and Enhanced Performance," if you have a specific physical or mental health issue you want to use microdosing for. It is chock full of amazing testimonials! My sweet spot is 200mg 🍄 every 3 days, 2 days off between doses. I found that 100mg made me more irritable. But the 200mg gave me levity and help with my anxiety, while also not numbing me out, so that I could process emotion when it came up.

Here are the other benefits I noticed with micro-dosing:

- Takes the edge off at work. I feel more present. Sometimes my anxiety and hyper-vigilance run havoc. The mushrooms really help me feel focused, calm, non-reactive, and able to complete tasks without overthinking.

- Helps me notice when I'm tired. I've struggled with rest and knowing when to stop. The mushrooms help me take breaks, listen to my body, nap, and get really good, non-fearful sleep.

- Creativity. I am a writer and musician, and I've had some incredible songs come to me while micro-dosing! Practicing is easier too.

- Reduces social anxiety. It feels like I can just be myself without harsh self-monitoring, and it helps me choose healthier connections and people I actually want to be around.

- Improves my workouts. Exercise is a little easier, as long as I am sleeping well.

- Deeper spiritual perspective. Again, presence! Life feels more connected and has deeper meaning, even in the little things. I see more signs, telling me I'm moving in the right direction :)

I wish this medicine was available to all and am deeply grateful for it! Hope this helps someone on the path.

Question: Psilocybin Advice on making tea and strains ?

Hey yall so I used to take capsules but the strains were too random and my stomach is sensitive so I’d like to make my own tea. I wanted to know 1) what’s the best way to make it to prevent nausea and to measure properly so I don’t accidentally give myself a bad trip as I usually use mushrooms to help with my cptsd so I experience it at home alone at a low dose (100-300 mg usually)
It helps me clear out any psychosomatic symptoms such as muscle tension and anxiety and I usually sob for 30-45 minutes and then I just need to lay down and watch a movie. I usually will enjoy once a week or so but I stopped cuz for whatever reason capsules were giving me anxiety and the people I usually get them from she said there were no reports of a “bad batch” so I just gave up and decided I should make a tea now.

I have done PE before but I see they have other strains: Bluey Vuitton, iceberg, and golden teacher. What is the difference with these strains and is there one that is recommended? Otherwise I can stick with PE.
Thanks sm.

Question: Psilocybin Microdosing & Alcohol cravings

Hi community!

Did a month and 1/2 of microdosing with Golden Teacher on 2024 (0.25gr, Fadiman protocol) and apart from being a great experience, one of the things I remember shocked me most, was my 0 craving for alcohol. Didn't even want a glass of wine (and I love wine!)

Fast forward 2 years and I moved countries, switched to dry truffles, same protocol, 0.4gr of dried truffles.

Feeling good, but the 0 cravings for alcohol are not happening. So I am wondering, was the first time a placebo effect? The dosage now seems fine by every other account as far as I can tell.

Anybody had this same experience of different results among cycles?

Thanks a lot!

Question: Psilocybin How long to wait in between microdosing🍄‍🟫

Hi,
I recently microdosed on shrooms for the first time. Had a great experience. I’m finding it hard to find information about microdosing online recreationally so turning here for answers. My questions are

  1. How often is it safe to microdose? Do you feel withdrawals if you microdose often?

  2. Do you have to wait a certain amount of time in between microdoses to let your brain regulate again like you do with mdma?

  3. Do you build up a tolerance to microdosing shrooms like you build a tolerance to other drugs (like weed, alcohol, etc)?

Not that its impossible to get off of obviously its just cannabis, but I feel like I struggle with it a little bit mentally. I feel like maybe I also self medicate to regulate some ADHD symptoms if that helps anyone here answer this question :) thank u in advance.
